My wife has owned guns for years but never touches them unless I put my boots on. If she wants to carry, I'm ok with that. Practice, practice, get your enhanced version then, practice, practice, practice. Did I say practice? I've set up various drills and targets in my home so we can both stay sharp but she never practices. No practice, no ccw... Don't need her in panic mode and giving me a new butt hole nor not knowing when to draw in public and understand the rules of engagement..

Safe lock digital changed to mechanical
BHunted replied to Swang's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Keypads and/or bio is fine as long as you have Key backup... My Patriot safe requires one key in it at all times and will only turn once I type in password. Then the wheel takes over. I would never have something with -just- a keypad as its only means... If the keypad fails, I have to put in a second key and turn them both to open. Great design that has never failed me. Sadly, Patriot has gone out of biz years ago. But the safe is smooth and balanced as budda like when it first arrived many years ago... even made the move from NJ to TN safely....... -

They'll get it working. Some of the acclaimed best gun makers on the market have their claim to fame and yet, make constant mistakes. Kimber comes to mind. They decided to get into the revolver world and since its realize, the D6 has problems. As does their micro lines and the ones that had nothing but probs like the Solo... Now striker fired? They'd best fix their originals and leave the modern to the other guys till they are squared away. You say how can any company screw up a revolver but, hey... it happened... Springfield Armory, another legend in name, people say it's not the original company. (Very few are and all the skilled craftsman are dead and gone)... But they want to stay afloat while trying to keep the M1s alive but still be in a market place. I bought one of their TRP Operator 1911s and it sucked right out of the box. Could not even rack it because it was locked. Got to a point, I was done arguing with them and fixed it myself. They never deburred anything inside and the barrel was terribly finished. It's like glass now and smooth as butter and their only remedy was just shoot it and get back to us. Idiots... I'm a bear and if I can't rack a 1911, something is wrong! HK was considered high end and when I first bought mine, was considered exotic guns. But ran like a Swiss watch. Finding a holster was a bitch though. They were not cheap and when they saw a competitive market for striker fired, they jumped on the band wagon with their VP line. Fine guns but a lot more cheaper than their original lines. So Colt is no different. They are in a competitive market where they finally realized keeping the historic name of Colt, if it is to endure, must try to match the market woes. Yes, they had their downfalls to the point where I was very sad and wanted them to come back. Everyone is trying to be competitive. In any company, you are not going to find a skilled craftsman with an anvil and sledge banging out parts. Not when you have all the modern machines like CNC and stuff. Why would any company? IF you want to pay for a one on one gun, look to Nighthawk, I own 2 of them now and had the honor to tour their plant. They too have all the modern machinery, cnc, lathes, lasers, etc., But once the parts are popped out, one person works on it till done. Hand fitting everything with a tight tolerance and buttery smooth actions. The craftsman are the best I've seen. Their dedication is unmatched imho... It's not a small mom pop gunsmith. They are huge... They price you pay is for their dedication and great weapons. Finally, one last thing. The complaining of the prices. Cheap guns are under a grand. Good to better guns start there and hover to under 2 grand. Custom guns are over that... My Nighthawks started over $4500 each and were over $5200 each when finished. The adage, you get what you pay for is true. But you need to realize the days of the $275 Colt Pythons are over. In order for any company to stay in business, they must compete and still make a profit. Otherwise, whats the point? $1500 msrp is not bad imho. You'll get it for less when the fad calms down. I wish I never sold my Pythons but, who knew they'd explode back from the Walking Dead so to speak. Insert other media

Who said we are lazy? Its not the only cleaning tool in most people's repertoire...

Boresnakes are great. If you have a lot of build up, soak the barrel first. You cannot put them in dry so it is recommended to spray the brush area and barrel/bore wet before pulling in. It will get stuck if you force it. My general habits are: I always clean my guns regardless of how many rounds. My boy says I am worse than the Marines, LOL. But it makes keeping them clean much easier. I've used strictly G96 for decades with no issues, no rust and smells like it belongs on a peanut butter sandwich rather than the harsh odor of Hoppes. Hoppes only for stubborn build up which occurs a lot with cheap ammo and a lot of lead bullets. Get a snake for each caliber. Even shotguns.

I doubt there will be any issues. If anything, just the trigger. All else is good imho. But if it's as buttery smooth as the orig? I'm good to go. I have no qualms about buying it and It is on my list.... Period.

I owned 2 Pythons in my days. A 4" nickle which was my duty piece and a 6" in Royal Blue. Sold them both years ago. Brand new back in the late 70"s, paid about $250 and $275. We later were switching to semi autos in which I carried my Colt Mk IV Series 70 Nickle 1911 45acp. A fellow just out of the academy loved my 4" Python and begged me to sell it. That was the early 80's. About a decade ago, sold my 6" to a horse vet that lived near the borders of Mexico. Wanted it for, well, you know.... Then the Walking dead drove the prices of them up averaging over $3K for ones at about 98%... Most youngsters prob never heard of a Python till that show. So bad ass Rick with it and went nutso. I told my wife, one day I will punish myself and buy a 6" nickle like our buddy has and suck it up. But who was to know that these things would hurdle prices. So here we are full circle. I'm glad to see it coming back and if it lives up to it's expectations, I think it's obvious that Colt is trying to win its way back into the market and at competitive prices. So, I will buy it. Maybe save $3G. I'm sure my wife won't mind. Not a snake, but I'd really love to see them come back with the Lawman III, 2" 357. I also sold that to the guy that owned the marina I kept my boat at. Awesome gun as well! If you couldn't hit the enemy, a ball of fire, 4' in diameter, would bind the scum making followup shot easier.... My original duty holster for the 4" Python.... Kindly referred to as the 'Dangler'..

Take a 4' length of wood. Like a 2"x2" and jam it in the hole. That can be replaced and viola! You're good.

Howdy neighbor.... I did the same thing years ago with Optimum Online. Your post is almost verbatim for what they told me. For decades of service, they take and give very little in return. They took away all the outdoor channels that involved guns. Tell me they are not pro2a... Blah! Not just Comcast though. Every company pulls the same crap as a last ditch effort to not lose a customer. What I really hate with Comcast Xfi, which I still have is this cable game they play like the others. They take one channel that they know people may like and stick it in a package you do not have. I have mine set up with a favorite list. One day I went to TCM for example and it said you must subscribe to it. I already HAD it, now I have to pay to see ancient movies? Mind you I have almost every channel they offer. What they do? Stick it in another Sports package. I ripped them a new one. Said WTF does old movies need to be buried in a sport package? Pisses me off. I also have a house phone I never use. I cannot dump it because my month bill will be more. These companies are nuts. I wish I could get rid of most of the channels. I may enjoy about 25 or so. No matter how hard you try to deal with them, its for naught. So I started getting rid of boxes with little activity and changed them out for a Roku box. Xfinity has a streaming app on Roku and it works very well.

Almost $300 a month for hi speed internet, a phone we do not use and tv. As long as you have a hi speed internet connection with them, Xfinity is available to stream for free on almost, if not all Roku boxes. So have a Roku hooked up in my office, in my guess bedroom and a TCL 50 inch Roku TV in the garage/man cave. All you do is plug the tv in and connect it to wifi. Get all the channels and save on an average of 10 bux a box you can give them back. Plus hook up as many Roku systems to the net. They could care less. Incidentally, the TV has all the latest smart stuff and was $250 delivered from Amazon. Love it. (You can watch your recorded stuff so you must keep their xfinity dvr) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JK98NNQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Did the same thing years ago. This guy is a vet and bought a ton of these to put it my display belt. Actual weight and size.... Dispite his finger prints, they polish up nice... Use a polish glove and give them a coat of Renn Wax to help hinder tarnish.. Didn't see nickel in that caliber but you can ask him. He has other cal nickel case... won't hurt to ask. https://www.ebay.com/itm/45-LONG-COLT-SNAP-CAPS-SET-OF-6-BRASS-REAL-WEIGHT-45LC-45-COLT/223624012118?hash=item341107a156:g:OXYAAOSw4lldVLoo
