  1. if the carrier seems to frozen, most of the time when that happens it is a blown primer wedge between the carrier or locking lug area. never heard the term mortaring before but have that done several times before. but only seen that work with a stuck case from reloading. I have seen 2 charging handles bent because of the force need to free the BCG because of a blown primer or equal.
  2. like it!
  3. well?
  4. on the 1301 the follower is long, like the Nordic follower. I replaced it with a DMW  follower which is about have the length and the factory mag went from 4 to 5 rounds. I already have a +5 tube and a XXL cap which allows for 6 in that with about a 1.5" for the spring. the barrel nut should be here on the 28th. I should have at least a 11 +1 capacity. it looks like the mag extension will go pass the 24" barrel about 4".
  5. here are 2 pictures. the lifter has very small forks and the loading port comes looking like its well beveled. but some may say it could need a little more beveling but the edges do not seem to sharp.
  6. this is Beretta's entry to the 3 gun. I have not had mine very long but so far it has not miss a beat. from straight out of the box. it's is light, not as light as the Vinci, trigger is good not as good as the Vinci. but the 1301 being a gas gun it easily shoots the light loads. out of the box it has a short L.O.P. but comes with spacers to add 1.25" to the LOP. I have the 24" barrel it also comes with 21" barrel. you can also get from Beretta there "kick off" recoil reducer. some are using it and say it is worth the money. the 1301 also comes out of the box with a over sized bolt handle, bolt release and safety. most of you who read this section already know about me and what happened. and that I can not pull even the trigger on the M & P shield and most over guns including the Versa Max. before I got hurt I thought my C-Rums trigger job was the shxt. now it took all I had to pull the trigger and control the Versa Max, which most say is one of the best 3 gun shotguns out there. I hope this gives you a idea about what I am saying when I say it has a good trigger.   they claim (they other 3 gunners) that the recoil is not as good (1301) as the VM but around the SLP, but points better than the SLP. also the recoil is less than the M2 plus shoots lighter loads. I know that X-Rail is working on a prototype for the 1301 and Nordic has a barrel nut for it. there you go for what it is worth.
  7. thanks, but for what it's worth, with the gas tube in place it would to be hard to tell if the barrel nut is correctly tighten unless its that "loose". living in Nashville you most likely know someone who has the tools and knows what he is doing. this may or may not work, but maybe you could try burning 20 rounds thru it fast then with a rag or light glove try and wiggle the barrel to see if you notice any play "barrel movement" holding the upper or float tube. it should be solid, remember if u try and hold the lower the upper will wiggle side to side. that work for me once but it was a accident. I was pissed grab the barrel throw the gun in the truck and it moved, a lot.
  8. Tubbs flat wire spring, great spring and its get rid of the spring sound, if it really brothers you
  9. I had to rebuild my 3 gun AR because I was no longer strong enough to handle it well. so when PSA had sale on there 16" lightweight barrel uppers with 1 x 7 twist and mid-length gas system I bought one never shot it as it was. I needed to replace the receiver with the side charger I had.  now the point of all this, after I got hurt I could not pick up my AR or pull a 2.5# trigger. as I took apart the PSA upper nothing was tight, more of a good snug. not even the barrel nut. I got it off myself, no hammering the wrench or heat. if that is not tight that could be the problem.   it looks like you have something like a med contour barrel and I would think if the barrel had any quality to it, it would not be moving your POI so much. I do understand about the cold bore shot, if you are going for a head shot at very long range. nothing meant by that.   before I got hurt I really enjoyed the action shooting sports. be it 3 gun or "tactical" rifle matches. granted most long shot where 300 or less, but you never started there. you went through a course of fire up to 20 rounds then engage the long range 12" flash targets. all these are timed events, with time limits some are 100 seconds to 180 seconds.   just know if I could shot a few shots then had to wait then in the trash it goes.

correct, unlike the AR 15, there 2, AR 10 patterns, DPMS and Armalite. and mags do not interchange. there may other parts that do not interchange but can not say. like say you want a CMMG AR -10 check which mag it takes, if it says DPMS then it is a DPMS pattern rifle.

a DPS pattern rifle, more mags are made for that including pmags

  16. yes it was good to see everyone and boy do I have a lot to relearn and relearn now to break down a stage also. but to do it from a wheel chair. going from box to box is tough. also I still can not release my easily. but it was GREAT to be there
  17. I am sorry for victory!
  18. never mind have not been great the last few days so most likely will not go. thanks Robert
  19. well they just add that to the FBI file :) and with any luck will get 2 more this weekend   and what about all those coins you put on the railroad tracks just to see how much they got flatten
  20.   you got me thinking about the 60 grain U-max. I got the rifle re zeroed for 50 yards so I hope this weekend I can talk the wife into taking me up the to range to try and get both nickels with the U-max, like you and your 53's these 60 shoot well.
  21. yes please! show us what it can do.
  22. thanks all
  23. its the most fun when you hit it!   I forgot to add that is a YHM stainless suppresser. I am a very big believer that they do tighten up your shot group.   have not tried the 53 grain bullet and have shot the 60 grain U-max which shot great also. but sticking with the heavier bullet right for 600 yard F-class if I can get up to the firing line. after I get a few more bugs worked out.   thanks all
  24. thanks
  25. thanks funny "king"
