  1. the one that works best for you, myself i well not be driving over any of mine cause there free

Whats the best AR mag?  Lots of brand names out there. Magpul seems to be a hot item, but why? Steel, stainless, aluminum, poly. All the different followers.. All at different prices. I wanna know whats the best value for the dollar and why? Most of mine are aluminum with Magpul type followers. I also have a few windowed Pmags.. What makes one better than the other? I understand fit as far as function and steel is heavier than aluminum but what makes one better than the other?

  2. The Benelli M2/M4, Remington 1100, Mossber 930, Browning Auto-5, Saiga-12/20/410 etc, etc are all fantastic shotguns (for hunting/sporting purposes), but I've seen too many examples of each & everyone of them "fail" at some point or another, for one reason or another, enough so that I simply will not use ANY autoloading shotgun for HD..

So if you do buy one for HD my best advice is to field test the crapola out of it prior to planning to rely on it in a life/death type scenario, that is good advice for any HD/SD weapon though.

he never said what he was using it for. i would have left off the 1100 and saiga. you have make a M2 or Versa Max fail. under pressure i have had the most issues with a pump, not a pump guy.  my sonwas raised on a pump but again under pressure has failures.

    just know your shotgun

  3. yep something like that, army went from the 2 green bottles. 1 was lube and the other a cleaner, no more sovlent tanks. the black bottles said break free on them.

If I am not mistaken CLP came along first, for the military, then the company started marking it for civilian use and called it Breakfree. I used it in the Navy, and still do. Only problem I have with it today is that it does not smell as good as it used to. SHUT UP! I cant help it if I like the smell of weird stuff (like Hoppe's #9 too).

  4. bushnell's 3 gun specific 1 x 6.5 runs about $1300 in both FFP and second. now they have 3 gun 1 x 8 at about 1900.

the 1 x 6 is very popular lots of shooters use them, have checked the 2nd plane model very nice.

    i run a 1 x 5, if i can still use my 3 gun AR i will have a 1 x 6

there are several 1 x4 for sale on other forums.

  5. very true, as a rule the longer the barrel the taller the front sight.

Will fit but I think they are slightly different because of change of barrel length. I think it is dawson that has a chart where you see where your gun hits off a rest, elevation wise, and order sights accordingly.

  6. just go shoot at several different clubs. each place has its own feel and idea's. the stages tell you what to, sometimes you can find small ways to game a stage. at home do reloads and reloads with retinion.

also try uspsa to get some different ideas. remember its just a game and not real training

  7. i was told by a friend i trust. that a few years ago he pull some wolf bullets and melted the copper off the bimetal and a standard bullet and claims the bi-metal bullets only have a very thin copper wash, compared to the standard bullet. i do not know what the other bullet make or weight was.

    maybe that's why.

i just browsed the video but i wonder why the barrel would be shot out with one ammo over the other?

  8. I would think that's why manufacturers run 3 shifts.  I doubt if any company is going to pay that much OT to anyone.  If they have a shortage of people, they'll hire temps to fill in their needs.

that not how i works in most places, where training and skill is required. the time and cost of training plus the lost of the trainer makes it cheaper to pay OT and if its a union plant most likely they can not hire temps.

but that pistol does look like several"temps" miss the problem.

  9. we use pvc pipe with furring strips (1 x 2) to staple the the targets too. if the stands come apart from rough handling or get shot. duct tape works great.

1.5" pipe with say the bottom 6" of the mounting sticks trimedto about 1.25.

will see if the wife will take picture

  10. that just seems wrong, you could walk fairbanks end to end in about 20-25 minutes. and another littile bit and you would be in north pole, ak and yes stanta has a house there.

as i recall in anchorage i went to sears and wards for the best deals.

i need to add if waiting til may to go, more important than a gun could be a very, VERY good bug spray, the flying blood suckers can send you into the water.

Not sure what you will find for sale up there.   All I can remember in the way of a gun shop was a pawn place, in fairbanks.  Not one to window shop, and dealing with out of state buys is usually not worth it, I did not look too hard though.   Nothing rings a bell as "unique".   The locals have bigger calibers, but its the same stuff we have in TN -- large caliber revolvers or big rifles.
