Thanks. Didn't mean to derail the thread. Kinda showing the OP what the possibilities of the SKS can be......

Hehe....actually, I am a little low. That's 19 Tapco 20 rounders full and what 375 rounds between the Wolf and Surpluss boxes and then another 40rounds of Winchester....maybe 800rds sitting there in the pic..........so yeah, gettin' low. Absoutly. No issues with feeding. I modded/grinded my bolt to mimic the "D" models' bolt that use the AK mags. That way I can insert/remove the Tapco mags without having to hold the bolt open. Check out Survivors SKS boards. TONS of info there and a lot of great people to help you out with questions or mods. Everything I have done to improve my SKS, came from here: Chinese

I've just gotten through building my Norinco SKS from parts. There's a thread in Show and Tell about it. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have set mine up to be a defensive shooter to around 100yrds. Things I've done to mine include: New spring loaded firing pin Albanian bolt carrier New gas piston Tapco T-6 stock with Tapco 20rd mags UTG Tri-rail receiver cover mount BSA Red Dot Modded the bolt to mimic a "D's" bolt (allows insert/removal of Tapco/AK mags) (in the mail) I have a seperate trigger group on it's way to "Kavari" for a trigger job and to have the sear polished. He turns it into a true two stage trigger. All I need to do is get it Duracoated and I'll be done..... Here she is in all her glory...

PM sent on this. Thanks man.

This is my Great GrandFathers pistol handed down through the years and now my father has it. Soon it will be mine even though it's not really worth much. The only things I really know are, the U.S. Revolver Co. was actually Iver Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works. It seems to be a late 1800's or early 1900's model but there is little info out there on them. Just figured I'd post a little more history here since I posted my Father-Inlaws Navy Colt Revolver. On the top of the barrel it says: U.S. Revolver Co. Made in USA On the bottom of the trigger is 24680, with the 24 being smaller than the 680. I was told by my father that this was an issued Calvery Officers pistol in WW1 but some how I think my father is lieing.

Awsome!!!! In my bathroom, in an easily gotten to, tucked away space, lies a S&W Airweight (.38spl +P) with Crimson Laser Grips for the wife. All I need to do is open the shower curtain and it'll blind Hellen Keller in her grave. No robber stands a chance when it comes to my shiney hiney!@!

Just saw this thread....... Sounds like things are comming along. Like I said before, I'd be more than happy to pay you (when things are finished of course) to spray my SKS. -
Nice price for a true copy!!! Post pics....

Empty mags do you no good........

That's too cool.....can't wait to see more pics!! Custom FTW!!!

I totally agree with what OhShoot has said from his point of view. Basically turn it around to the G26 in my case though. Considering I shot OhShoots' XD and he shot my G26 a few weeks back, after exchanging the "why we purchased" statements, we both agree that either is an outstanding choice for personal carry. Yes both have their issues depending on who you talk to, but the main thing is what you actually feel comfortable with in your hand. If possible, shoot them both. If you were closer to KTown, I know both OhShoot and I would let you pound out a few rounds out of each gun.

Holy crap!!! That was my first thought as I was placing the ammo!! I kinda got into the whole ammo vs. firearm thing and thinking a firearm is near worthless without ammo, I started acting like the ammo were soldiers standing on their defeated prize amongst their fallen brethern. I don't feel so now.

That's what the wife said.... I wouldn't say carefully placed........but I was hoping the pic would turn out decent enough... I'm by no means a photographer, I was just trying to get some "different" pics since my usual pics are boring

Really?? I've never heard of any misconceptions on lubrication....care to enlighten me?? Seriously, I always thought it was pretty simple as far as the lubing process was concerned. Everything I've read gave the same lube points, the only difference was what the person decided to use to lube as each has their own "wonder" lube they love.... I'm asking since I own 2 Glocks and have NEVER had any type of issue out of either of them using Glock products. Both have been reliable and with 1000's of rounds out of my G19, it hardly shows any wear. My G26 is seriously behind on the number of rounds through it but once again, it still looks pristine inside and out..........just want to make sure I get the longest use out of em'.....so if you have some seceret info, share it us please.....

Keep watching.....we'll be hitting Norris soon enough.

Tis true. Airline security will tell you that if the weapon is stolen, and you as a ticket counter person has handled the firearm, you are now a suspect if the firearm is stolen. If the firearm is used in a murder, your finger prints might be the only ones on the firearm. You have a right to not allow anyone but a TSA employee to handle the firearm. If anyone other than you handles your firearm, tell a TSA agent or management person of the airline and have it addressed right there. There are strick guide lines ticket counter people are supposed to follow when handling a person wanting to declare a firearm.

Hmmm......I'd have to say around 25 to 30 minutes. I bought a very used Rem 870 at one of the R.K. shows, kind of an impulse buy when I first walked throught the door. I had been wanting one for a while and while walking around I saw a PA-63. As I've always been into pistols, the 870 went as an even trade and I left before I saw anything else I wanted...

I guess I'll hit this one as well. More than likley it'll have to be on early on Saturday so I can sleep before work that night. If that doesn't happen, it'll definatly be Sunday even though all the decent stuff will be gone through. I'm looking for any type of SKS in just about any condition and any nationality. Wanting one for a project. Of course some 7.62x39 ammo as well......doubt the prices will be any where near what I want to pay. Oh well, I don't have to buy do I...

Apraisal for Navy Colt Revolver 1850's??

No pics. It's my father-in laws pistol. Guess we need to take some anyways for the insurance company so I'll see if I can't get some snapped soon. It's got surface rust on it but everything works fine. The powder handle, the cylinder, trigger, hammer, everything is functional. I wouldn't say it's ready to actually be loaded up, packed and shot, but it will function while dry firing. (no we don't dry fire it all the time) Nothings broke or heavily marred and looks like all the # match.....so it may be worth something. That's what we need to find out.... -
Maybe I'm stupid on this one but I can't worry about someone breaking into my car and stealing my Glock. I can't stop someone from breaking into anything of mine nor can I control who's hands my Glock or any of my firearms might end up in if they are stolen. I'd actually be more hurt if they stole one of my cars or one of my guitars. They're more valuable than my Glock is.....
