I can see she wanted her fingernails to match her ear plugs. My 4yr old daughter spotted THE pink bolt action .22 in WalMart last week. She won't stop talking about it. Says she gona ask Santa to bring it to her since daddy wont buy it. Momma's gona love that....

Hard to believe that October is already upon us. I choose Sunday vs Saturday because of all the lame excuses people give about "having" to watch the Vols. Also trying to give a few weeks notice for those who have to get the wife's permission. Anyways........ Shootin' Place: Norris Range When : Sunday October 11th AT 1pm (or earlier...just save us a spot) Who : All E.TN TGO'ers.........you know who you are. I'd love to have one more big shootin' meet again before the years up. So bring who ya want to bring and bring what you want to shoot. If ya don't have ammo for something special you'd like to play with, post up and someone here will surely be able to help you out. OhShoot.....I have a box of .357 so make sure you get to shoot some of 'em. I'm bringing my .357 back with new grips, hopefully my hand won't hurt this time....

You liked that revolver huh??? Fancy little bugger, isn't it....

Go ahead and purchase the mag extenders, the pinky extenders or the GAP extenders. Try them out. It won't hurt anything. I purchased pinky and mag extenders and figured out, under "stress", attempting to insert a G19 mag with the extender was harder than inserting a G19 mag without it. I also figured out that shooting it at the range showed no difference with or without one. So I learned no mag extensions needed as they caused more issues for me than without them. The pinky extensions ended up the same way after time. Matter of fact, I sold all my "extender" stuff to Mikedwood (i think?) for dirt, dirt, dirt cheap. I think he got 4 mag extenders and 2 pinky extenders for $20.....I just had no use for them. I can fire my G26, change mags (using the 26 mag) and stay in the fight just as easily as I can with my G19 setup. Even using a G19 mag as a back up, doing mag swaps is simple and you never notice the change in grip (if you're understress) till afterwords. Final words......purchase the G26 then a G19 or vise versa....you'll be

You should have said something, I would have gone with you two..... OhShoot is definatly a cool cat but then again so is the rest of the "Norris" crew. Gona have to plan another get together very soon........

Harshness........ I love mine. It shoots perfect, never had any issues and the sight radius works well up to 30yrds for me........ tis why I carry it every day. Anyways, my most hated gun was an AutoOrdance .45acp. It was my first 1911 (which was a bad way to be introuduced to the 1911 platform). I bought it for cheap at $200 cause the trigger had issues. I spent $400 on getting it up to par and shootable. After swapping parts for Wilson parts and getting a new barell fitted, the damn thing shot low left EVERY time no matter who got a hold of the gun. 2 range masters lost $20 to me thinking they could shoot it accuratly with no issues....kept blamming me and the way I shoot. Needless to say I went home $40 richer....

All the accessories are used. The gun is used. You can purchase a new G17 for around $550 and additional mags or accessories are found pretty cheaply at GlockTalk.com $400 for just the gun and high cap mags. Tell him to keep the other stuff. Yes it's a Glock but who know's where it's been and what condition it's in..... $500 is the highest I'd pay for the included accessories IF a foot massage was included as well.

Shoot it once or twice and then put it up for the youngin's....

Those Sig P238 are looking more and more interesting every time I see a pic.......would love to shoot one sometime.

Norris Range Sept 5th...who's all in??

Had fun today guys. Miss the ones whom didn't show up of course.... Sundays would work well for me as I'll start having them off in the next week or so. Do we want to go ahead and start an October thread to give peeps time to get their scooby snacks in order so they can come play?? Mac, thanks for the use of the ammo and I'll definatly get ya back next time. Now I need to get more ammo....I'm starting to run a little low......darn annual memberships... -
I've carried the Hornady CD in my G26 for about a month or so. Fantastic stuff....so far. I've bought and shot all the "hottest sh*t" on the market for my G19 and G26 (including the short barrel GoldDots). Personally, the Hornady 9MM 124GR HP/XTP or the 9MM 124GR TAP became my first choices depending on what was available....until the CD came out. I first I was hesitant about dropping to 115GR but the expansion properties are supposed to be slightly better with the CD plus you get a little more FPS. Not much but a little. So I figured I'd give them a shot. They shoot and feed perfect in my Glocks and so far they seem to put my mind at ease about carrying them....after all, it's Hornady ammo.

Norris Range Sept 5th...who's all in??
kwe45919 replied to kwe45919's topic in Events and Gatherings
We'd certainly enjoy seeing more faces at these outings and I guess next time we need to try to give more than a few days heads up to give them a chance to change current plans..... -
I kinda agree with Hatmaker on this one. Character is tons better than a new finish as long as the gun in it's current state, isn't in so bad of shape that further use of it will end up getting you killed. Harsh TN climate can do that kinda thing to a gun....

I'd like to see some better pics but looks good from what I can tell....

I carried a G19 and went to a G26 for better concealability for the spring/summer/fall seasons. Smaller is better when wearing shorts and t-shirt or like "light" attire. Camping or hiking or doing yard work, my G26 in it's CompTac IWB is the most comfortable thing I've carried to date. The G19 is a little bulky and prints easier when in shorts and t-shirt but I have no issues carrying a full sized 1911 in the winter since I have more bulky cloths to conceal it better. Long story short, if you like Glocks and you like the 9mm caliber, get both. One for winter which can be easier to handle in gloves (G19) and one for the rest of the year (G26)....... It's the only way to go.....more guns = <- you

As accurate as any of the sub-Glocks/XD's can be, you have better control and stability with a compact. IF you're going to shoot IDPA, you'd be a fool to get something smaller and more sub-compact. Of course it could be done and I'm sure it has been done by someone, but your score will be better with a gun that fully fits in your hand.

Norris Range Sept 5th...who's all in??

Bring what you want to it sure won't hurt.....looks like my shippment should be in tomarrow but you never can tell. Wasn't planning on shooting a lot with the .357 but it'd be nice to excersize it a little.... -
I heard from a birdie that a few fellows are heading up to Norris range again this upcomming Saturday Sept 5th around 1pm. Wondering who all is planning on showing up this time and what ya bringing?? I should be there and plan on bringing my SKS, my Glocks, my Highpoint 995 and I might have an AB-10 by that time....if I do, I'll bring my Tec-9 as well. Hoping my .357 ammo will arrive by Saturday so I can bring my Papaw's S&W.....

Apraisal for Navy Colt Revolver 1850's??
kwe45919 replied to kwe45919's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Thanks for the replies guys. I've had several people look at pics and check it out "hands on". The average range it seems to be valued at is around $5000. Good enough for me. I've been given some great advice on how to take care of it a preserve it further for future generations. Thanks for all the help guys...... -
Ehh....get an SKS. They're fun and inexpensive and there's tons of silly "taticool" crap you can have done to em'..........
-
Come on out to Norris range this Saturday and shoot with the guys. It'll be worth your time and effort. The guys are great and we all can show/teach you proper saftey and how to shoot. By the time you leave the range you'll have more confidence about you and your weapon and how to use it as well. Besides, why wait longer than you have to. You bought it to protect yourself, why not let us help you reach that goal...
-
I own both a G19 and a G26. Had the grip extensions for using the G19 mags in the G26.....got rid of 'em. They served no real purpose except using a hi-cap mag at the range. If you're going to carry a G26 with the mag extensions, you might as well carry a G19 and get the extra inch on the barrel for accuracy. Besides with a 15rnd G19 mag in a G26, it makes it bottom heavy and can affect accuracy in a SHTF situation..... Just go with the G19 and call it a day. The G19 is one of the best ballanced handguns out there and is very easy to carry and maintain. And the rumors about shooting your butt off while reholstering....well, guess that depends on how ignorant one can be while trying to reholster. Usually there isn't a time restraint on reholstering and there's no need to hurry and get your weapon holstered either.... Of course, a compact XD-9 "service" is just as good as a Glock 19. Either firearm will work perfectly fine......just go with the compact vs. the sub-compact since you want to shoot IDPA
-
I guess it'd actually depend on demand. Some may be interested in some of those and some may not. The only thing I'd be interested in would be the AB-10, but I've had a Tec-9 so I'm familiar with it.

RIA 1911 Officers model (3.5") IWB Holster
kwe45919 replied to inspecting1's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Unless you really have to.........tucking in your shirt is for sissies. Milt Sparks are pretty good holsters. A lot of people are digging the Cross Breed and CompTac holsters for 1911's being IWB. Of course you have to take crap from the leather purists!!! -
As far as the 7.62x39 and 9mm goes, I've never had an issue. Then again the SKS and my Glocks can eat anything with no problems. The Wolf Mil Classic shoots better than any of the military surpluss I've had to date in 7.62x39.....
