:bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored::bored: Sunday's take'n to long to get here.......... -
I would dare say that the XD points and shoots more naturally for the both of you than the Glock. I can shoot an XD pretty good but am better with my Glock as I have practiced and carried it for almost a year now along with it seeming to be a natural fit for me. Of course anyone can learn to shoot any weapon accuratly with a little time and perhaps a few secerets shared here and there....
-
Interesting to see.....want to see how it stacks up against others in it's class......
-
That's what I said without saying it properly.... Still though, it seems like the OP was stating it was the XD/Glock not the person shooting that made the results happen.

Yes....pleasant weather ahead. Whahooo!! Anyone got a bore scope for a 7.62x39?? I'd like to sight in my little scope on my SKS quickly but just haven't got around to ordering one. -
There's not gona be a difference in noise in side a house...trust me, if either go bang....you won't have to worry about anything other than your ears....
-
You proved nothing except that you can shoot an XD at 7yrds better than your buddy. Want to try me and my G26?? We can start off at 20yrds if your up to it. Neither the XD nor the Glock is better than the other. It's just the people that shoot them. If you keep practicing and put thousands of rounds throough your XD, you will get better at distance and accuracy. Most of the guns today are more accurate then the people shooting them. That's a fact.

Bless your heart........glad no one was hurt. If that was to ever happen to me, I'd wet my pants no doubt.

Sounds like some fun...wouldn't mind trying to attend. Haven't been fishin' in...........................36hrs. I definatly haven't had the time or chances to fish like I normally do this time of year so it'd be nice to get out somewhere..... Where ya planning on goin'?? Have a certain place in mind??

The original intent of the 147-gr. 9mm load, which I think was pioneered by Winchester/Olin was to provide better grouping potiental. I remember something about the a military/seal team needing something better for more precise groupings at longer distances. The 147gr worked well in suppressed pistols but fell flat in short or ported barrels because they reduced the already-subsonic 147-gr. bullet to a little over 600 ft/sec....which ain't much. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? I've shot a few different 147gr out of my G26....and I really don't like any of them. I personally like the 124gr bullet.....Just me though... Anyways....I was using Horndy 115gr Critical Defense......BUT since I got a hold of some 124gr Win Ranger, that's what's in my G26. My G19 at home is loaded with MagSafe....gives the wife a piece of mind.

My old Kimber Pro Carry II was very picky on ball ammo. Didn't like WWB or REM from WallyWorld along with most other ball 9mm out there. However, it ate the crap out of CCI Blazer Brass, Wolf, Lawman and Sellier and Bellot like it was candy. Some issues were FTF and some for FTE. Not sure why. Shot 3 to 4K rounds out of it before I sold her and she worked like a dream. With HP....didn't matter the brand or grain......it ate'em all with no issues. Never fugured it out. It's like cars and gas stations......some cars run better on a certain brand or octain gas than others....guns are that way with ammo:shrug:

I've had a 40VE go through my hands and wasn't happy with it. It shot OK and had a horrible trigger pull. Then again that was 4 years ago.....I'm sure things have improved a little...
-
Well....the only one I have left to get that I want is a G18.........that'll take a lot of time and money..... Come on.........that's like saying my BB is better than your BB cause of which WalMart they were bought at......

Kimber Pro Carry II............bought as a carry piece for Winter but sold for lack of use. Great gun just never saw any action. As far as promoting this gun......it's a Kimber, need I have to say more. Glock 19......for reasons listed above in first post as well as fit and feel. Great gun for beginniers because of ease of use, maintanence and fit/feel. Glock 26......needed for deeper concealment for spring/summer Awsome piece for carry in Tshirts and shorts. Especially in cases where bigger isn't better Tec-9.........Pre Ban Nostalgia I had a passion for these forever. I've always wanted one. They are fun and mine has been reliable somehow..... AB-10.........Post Ban Nostalgia No passion needed, just the ability to pull the trigger 32 times. It goes bang and shoots pretty darn well. Besides....the Tec needed and friend... I've had tons of other pistols as well but these are the current ones in my stable. I'd fill a page or two with the ones that have pass through my hands....of course some on here should just get their dealer liscense considering how many they go through.....

Quoted for truth.

Just to reference your smaller gun statement, I carry my G26 in a CompTac IWB that is just like the CrossBreed. With a small firearm, it becomes nonexistant....almost like your wallet. I carry my G19 in the same holster and it is just as comfortable as the G26 is. Both the CompTac and the CrossBreed are great IWB holsters. I highly recomend both....
-
Clears my CompTac perfectly. No issues, no scrapes! Well, I can't say much about that. Looks like Trigicon didn't put the white ring around my left sight. It functions perfectly and their's no issues with sighting day or night/evening. I've put 300rds down the pipe with these sights so far and they are totally awsome. Easy to keep an eye on your target .......

Your first post was misleading. I was hoping with your post count you weren't a newbie with firearms but couldn't figure out what was up as your post was kinda hard to read. I see now you have a G23 at your house already. Sounded like you didn't have a gun at all. Now hopefully you can see why I responded like I did. I wasn't trying to sound like a d*ck.

That's BOLD statment. Maybe if it a real BHP I might agree. However, for 2 Glocks, I would trade without hessitation. More money can be had with the Glocks and it would be just as easy to sell a Glock and buy another FEG clone...

Caliber can be inportant but don't dewll on it. I carry a Glock 26 (9mm with either Win. 124gr Ranger or 115gr Hornaday Critical Defense) and I'm more than confident that it will proform as needed when the time comes. Precision shots and quick thinking usually prevail in these situations along with knowing and maintaining your firearm properly....and let's not forget practice. During that practice, as most recomend, shoot the ammo you plan to carry. It's possible to find issues then, not on the battle field. If your planning on headshots all the time, I'd suggest a light caliber such as a .22 to a .380....not a Glock 23. Maybe it's just me but it seems you haven't actually investigated the pro's/con's of the various calibers out there enough to know what could be best suited for your situation. Personally, a .357 would be the choice for me or at least a .38, then again, people are afraid of wheel guns since they have 6 maybe 8 shots. Doesn't mean they aren't an awsome choice for "store sitting" with your mom and 2yr old. If you've really thought about saftey for your mother and son, then you need to research everything out there. It's possible a Glock 23 won't fit your hand or feel right to you. Maybe a 1911 .45 or a CZ 9mm fits and feels better. Like I said, don't know what you have or haven't done when it comes to firearms, but it seems like you need more information to make a decision you'll be happy and feel confident with.

There's tons of answers and supposed cures for this. However, alot depends on the home, children and other factors such as children being home alone. You didn't give us much to go on for age of your child but in my situation with my 3yr old, either I or my wife is always in the home. My gun is on my hip and hers is in her safe under the bed. Right now, there's no time the child is alone so there isn't anything for me to have to worry about. In the future, changes will have to be made to ensure things are kept safe from other kids. I plan on teaching my child about the dangers and saftey of firearm someday.....when she's not worried about her dolls.
