  1. Sometimes grandpa's are the best............ Awsome job done to make one happy grandson.
  2. Maybe it's just me but what makes it a "compact"??? Looks full sized to me.....
  3. I have a Mossberg 500 18in barrel and have found that Nobel Sports #4 low recoil Law enforcement shotshells pattern about 12in at 10yrds. Perfect for my home. However, most buckshot patterns about 16in at 10yrds.....a little to wide for my taste to use in my home. I have found that Centurions' multi-defense "buckshot" patterns well for my use also. For slugs I use Federal TruBall Rilfled Slugs though I really can't shoot them worth a crap at distance being my Mossy's a pistol grip w/o a stock. If I had a stock, the slugs would be more useful to me..... So in closing, I have my Mossy loaded with 2 of Nobels' #4 Law Enforcement shells, 3 of Centurion Multi-defense shells and one slug for good measure.... Considering ammo for a 12 gauge is pretty cheap, I suggest you buy small ammounts of various loads and shots and go try them out for yourself. You'll gain a better respect of what your shotgun can truly do....
  4. Awsome...never seen one before. Gona have to look into finding out more about them now....
  5. Sorry I missed you guys today....I ended up working 14hrs today and now I'm back here again. Oh well, it's extra cash. So we gona have a New Years Day shoot or what?? I know most of you guys would rather watch the parade with your wives, girlfriends or palms but suck it up, give her a stiff drink or wash your hands and let's go shooting.
  6. Looks like no rain till around 2pm.........still cold though.
  7. May not be there this time guys. Had someone call in on first shift so I have to tack a couple of more hours onto my day..... Could show up for an hour or so but it's looking grim.

..........and Glocks are more about functionality than flash right!! I owned one until I passed it to a friend to fund another toy. I enjoyed it. Put about 3K worth of rounds through it. Good choice in a defensive pistol for carry or home. Just a suggestion to not waste cash, if you're planning on carrying it, get a good holster the first time and get a double mag pouch to match.
  9. So the weather's looking worse every minute that passes. Who's gona be there rain. sleet or snow?? Remember your grandparents had to walk up hill both ways with no shoes on in the rain, sleet and snow just to get to school...so we shouldn't have a problem with people wussing out right?? I've got my mud boots and gear ready to go.....
  10. SO are we talking about BlueBunny HP's or BlueBunny bawls...er I mean Blue Bunny BALL ammo.....
  11. Awsome........another fellow Ridger goin'.....
  12. I saw nothing of any AK's for under $500.......every one I saw was a Yugo or WASR......Nothing was worth the prices they've were asking IMO.
  13. High noon?? Man, ya'll are trying to kill this poor 3rd shifter. Gotta sleep sometime before the next shift. Might end up being there round' 11ish, need to get some pistol pit time in. I've definatly been negating my duty to myself by not spending time with my G26. Those darn zombies won't go down on their own ya know.....
  14. I've shot a few CZ 75's and many people own CZ products on this forum. If you are looking for a reliable, great shooting firearm, especially for your first, then you're looking in a good spot. CZ vs SP-101......hands down personal opinion goes to the CZ. The whole "center bore axis with the hand" thing is dominate in the grip with the CZ vs. the SP-101. Shooting wise, I feel the CZ is a slight bit sharper of a recoil vs. the SP....BUT....it's really not noticable to most so I doubt you'll be able to tell. Both are tack drivers at 15yrds and neither I've fired have had any issues or malfunctions. Still the CZ just stands out. Now don't get me wrong, the SP-101 is a fine handgun as well but if your only worried about capacity issues between the two and you don't feel 14rds is enough, then go with the SP-101. My Glock 26 has it's factory 10rd mags in it for daily carry with a 15rd G19 mag for back up. It's what you feel you're comfortable with in the end though. While being an armed citizen, your primary thoughts for having to use your pistol should be to stop an immediate threat or to creat "cover fire" to find an exit. Personal opinion, you shouldn't need to carry enough ammo to fight a war, but enough (at least 1 mag) to help with clearing a possible malfunction......thought many will dissagree with me..... Hope my blabbin' help some.....
  15. That was over there by the explosive powder wasn't it?? There was a Ruger SR22 I was trying to talk him down on if it was the same guy. It was up 2 spots from the S&W. If he would have taken $435 OTD taxes, tags, title and all...I would have had me a neat .22......unfortunatly, I couldn't talk him down on that or the Draco pistol he had on the table.......
  16. Well, I didn't buy anything either though I came prepared to. Went shopping for AK's, found a few and made some offers but no one would commit to my "cash out the door prices". Saw a few deals on various gear depending on what you'd settle for, other than that, the show pretty much sucked. Most were trying to hold out for top dollar prices....kinda expected that being the last show before Christmas. Can't blame people for trying to make a little extra to help off set the cost of the season. I think I saw 5 fellow TGO'ers there. OhShoot and Mike.357, my fellow co-worker thanks you for your advice. It kept him from buying spur of the moment. I brought him to look and when he saw something he could "afford", he wanted it. First time buyers... 70Below and SUNTZU...good to see you guys again. Saw someone else in the crowd I've seen before but don't know who you are..... Maybe the first show of the year will have better deals then this one...
  17. So you're gona be there right??
  18. Nice painting of a gun.....
  19. Now that's purdy right there.....yet another dream of mine.
  20. :pWell, I guess more went on in the depression era than the highschool history books tell. More Government propaganda I tell you. They leave out all the good stuff and just tell the boring stuff,. Sentences......can you type one?? One that maybe someone could understand?? The only thing I can make out is that you seem to have 7 Glock models that you'll "shoot" but you're scared to carry'em??? I know you didn't say you were "scared" but one would assume you are with the way you have worded it. If they were so dangerous, don't you think they'd be out of buisness and a couple of thousand people dead?? You do also understand that cars still kill more people than Glocks do but you don't see people afraid to drive. If you're going to make a statement, at least back up the statement with information....not jumbled sentences.

All of the aftermarket barells are good. It doesn't matter if it's a BarSto, LoanWolf, Stormlake or what ever......there have been tons of "this barell vs. that barell" threads on GlockTalk even to the point of the manufactures comming into the theads to say that neither barell is better than the other. Personally, LoneWolf is the way to go. I currently have one for my G19 and it shoots no differently than the stock Glock does. I've also had Stormlake and KKM barells.....all of which preformed the same when I did my part to shoot correctly no matter the caliber. The biggest difference is in price which is where LoneWolf shines a little better......I doubt you'll go wrong with any of them. You'd be better off getting a LoneWolf for your reloads for target practice since you're talking about being "cheap to reload" vs. buying factory fresh..... BTW... LoneWolf is about $120 Stormlake and KKM are around $160 Barsto is around $200 They all are as accurate....
  22. Whaooooooooooo!!!!! Another shoot....that'll make 2 in December. Guess I'll be there.......
  23. I work till 8:30 but plan on being there directly after...some where between 9 and 9:30. A friend from work is planning on showing up with me...... and I swear honey....I'll not buy anything as we don't have the cash!! Didn't say squat about using a CC though!!!
  24. Check this section....there's another meet planned....or being planned....or being discussed............or whatever.
