  1. Good suggestions. Thanks. I think for now (for trial only) I'll snag a Sightmark Mini Shot Reflex Sight or Ultra Shot, toss it on and see if the wife thinks she likes it. If so then I'll go with a Burris Fast Fire or something similar for the final product.......
  2. Well, to get my wife comfortable with the Mossberg 500, we went from a pistol grip to a 12"LOP stock. Now she says she can hold it pretty good but can't see/understand how to use the bead on the front. Alternative, reddot. She likes my Aimpoint on my AK but I think that or something similar would be too big. Some pics I have found seem to confirm this. Who on here has something similar on thier shotgun?? Would you mind posting pics for me to see?? My question to the TGO family is simple. Recomend a reddot, preferably small, that is decently inexpensive and will hold up attached to a shotgun. I'm really at a loss as some people tend to think what will hold up on a rifle won't hold on a shotgun. Myth or fact??
  3. Comp Tac.............I've carried my gun to a wedding, a funeral and a graduation. All dressed up with shirt tucked and tie tacked......worked so awsome my wife had no idea i was carrying.
  4. Hopefully he gave you a ticket...........for carrying a peashooter.
  5. The coolest thing: Walking in the woods up off of Nubert Springs, I tripped into an old civil war cemetary. 2 names were readable, Tarwater and Jones. There's a Tarwater Family cemetary a mile down the road which is what makes this find an oddity. I wonder why these/this Tarwater was burried in a different place OR did the cemetary origionally extend out that far back in the day and society or the weather play a part in the distance between the graves. Other times, I've ran accross a few abandonded cars, found chimney stacks, dead animals and such. The worst time was running up on a Cougar/Mountain Lion/HUGE TAN CAT out at the base of the Chimney's. I was with my dad about 5 years ago and we were eating our MRE's shootin' the breeze when a large tan cat brazenly walked up within 25yrds of us and was stareing like we were dinner. My father decided to carry his .44 that day and thank god he did. My father reached into his fanny pack, retrevied the .44 and pointed it at the cat. The cat started circling around to our left and them back to our right over and over. We decided it was time to walk away so after gathering up our stuff we started walking backwards slowly. The cat stopped circling and started a brisk pace in our direction. My dad popped off a shot into the dirt in front of the cat and thankfully it scampered away. Ever since that day, I don't go into woods I can't carry in. It used to not bother me much but after that day, you just can't trust animals, mother nature or the government. I just found the only thing in common with all three of'em.....
  6. There isn't any one statment you can say.... My favorite though was an old redneck on the side of the road in GA selling peaches down by the coast...he said "they (the govmnt) can take my guns if they feel they need to, that's fine with me. People tend to hate guns, despise'em, that's a fact. They just scare people. Doesn't matter what they do though, I'm always quiet with my crossbow . "Which made me think.................I don't have a crossbow.
  7. You had to pick easter weekend didn't ya?? Can't make it this weekend. I have a 4yr old to hide eggs for. By the way it sounds, there should be another round of clean up right??
  8. So is this info for the clean-up....or the actual shoot?? Either way it sounds like I need to get started buying some Tatical Gear.......all these tuff guys gona be campin' outdoors with all the boogie monsters lurking....need to be prepared. :p
  9. I'm always willing to help "clear" the range as well.... Of course with me on 3rd shift, it may impossible to meet at the suggested time to help in cleanning or de-bushing.....
  10. It's been a few outings since I've seen some of you........guess it'stime to show my pretty face again. I'm in.
  11. No issues with my WASR.....eats everything from Primo to Sucko ammo..
  12. I just shoot them and don't worry about what number or letter thry are..
  13. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/gear-classifieds/37147-fs-handgun-grips.html There's a set for sale in the Gear section. Westwindmike I believe is selling them. I was going to purchase his Pachymer wrap arounds from him but the mag release button is in the wrong spot. I'd be happy to purchase your Houge grips from you if you're interested.
  14. Gotta wait another year or two before momma lets me get the little girl her little pink gun. Every time we go to Wal-Mart, she wants to go to the fishing and gun section vs. the toy section.....just so she can see her pink gun she's gona get when she's big like mommy and daddy.
  15. First price I found on the Micro Rig is $85 with the H-harness at $45. Not to bad. I think I'll definatly be looking into these a little further considering they aren't that expensive...... Original S.O.E. Gear
  16. Congrats to the OP for getting an MTAC...they really are awsome. Just today I was kicking the soccer ball around the back yard with my wife and daughter with mine on....held my G26 just fine with me jumping and kicking around..... It's only because SUNTZU was there that you had a good time. He has that effect on crowds of people..... Glad you had a good time,
  17. ^^my friends agree....some people ya just can't reach...so ya get what we had here....and the conclusions never change.
  18. Hehe.....cool. Ya never know what'll happen till ya try.
  19. Lets see........9mm is kept in their manufactured boxes on the 3rd shelf in out bedroom closet along with the 12gauge shells. My 7.62.39 is kept in an ammo can on the floor of the closet as it's too heavy to put on the top shelf. Closet locks. Looking at different set ups currently as I'd want to have everything together in one place including my mags, cleanning supplies and tools I use.....
  20. Brown Bear Silver Bear Wolf (black) Wolf (MC) Monarch Golden Tiger Norinco Yugo Wether it's been HP or FMJ, I've never had an issues with any of these in my SKS's or AK. I've shot about 1000k of each (give or take a few hundred) and have never noticed any big difference in any of these brands. They all hold about a 2in MOA for me at 100yrds. (yes I suck but these are for range use or perimeter defense of my home ) Now, the best I've found so far has been the Federal Power-Shok 123gr. These held a 1 1/4in MOA at 100 yrds. These impress me considering I can't shoot. Cor-Bon's 125gr was a close 2nd with a 1 1/2 MOA at 100yrds. These two loads are my "hunting" loads. I do want to try Cor-Bons' 150gr to see how it handles......
  21. I replied to your PM.
  22. No where as pretty as some of them out there but she's one helluva shooter..... What she looked like when I got her.... Ultimac Rail w/ Aimpoint M.O.E. buttstock and Vltor stock
  23. I occasionally ride dirt bikes as well as street bikes and can safley say that my G26 rides in it's MTAC perfectly at my 5-O'clock with no issues. No need to worry about anyone seeing it while riding unless you're on a crotch rocket bent down over the tank wearing nothing but a wife-beater on doing about 100mph....even then it'll only be for a second.
  24. Definatly inprove the stock sights first. Then worry about a laser....
