  1. Get to building....
  2. The fit was good, no gaps. It has metal pins vs. the plastic the PlumCrazys' have. There are a few area's of "flashing" that could be knocked off or down but don't hurt the functionality of it. Over all, I'm happy with my $120 complete lower. I had a chance to fire 2 full mags with it and had no issues. Trigger is decent and breaks about where my aluminum one does. If you have any questions, just ask.
  3. Ok I finally got around to getting pics. I have my Surplus Ammo and Arms aluminum lower for comparasion:
  4. Classic Arms.......snag'em before they go up in price.
  5. I'd hope though no further information has become available considering it's in 10 days..The OP was online today and I've sent him a PM asking him to post further information....(ie directions, rules etc.)
  6. Very sweet.......I've seen skulls stippled in before so I knew eventually flames would happen.....then of course some one will want to do some type of Zombie type stippling and so on and so on......you've just started a new craze.
  7. Get the PA to start with and build your ammo stock pile. Optics can go out but iron sights will prevail, therefore a PA optic + ammo for your money is the better choice. Now, I was the one who bought Patriot's PA microdot. Decided to go cheap and build ammo for now and get a quality optic later when I have mastered the rifle. I have been to the range and put about 500rnds through my AR with it on.......no issues and held zero. I subjected it to a minor ammount of abuse and still no issues. My buddy even dropped the rifle from about 3ft (by accident) and still haven't had to turn a knob on it yet to re-zero.....

    which one

Gen4.....I'm slowly replacing my Gen3's with the Gen4's.....nothing wrong either way, I just really like the way the grips are on the Gen4's......Under stress, sweat, mud or water, I can hold on to my Gen4's better then my Gen3's with any type of grip tape or rubber sleeve.....
  9. Because it's supposed to be for EVERYTHING. Your daily carry, ZOmbie blaster, your ACME anvil or what ever you deem to use it for. It's a gun and better yet it's a Glcok....... what else would you normaly use it for except to save your hide if the situation came up. With a Glock, there is no such thing as a safe queen......
  10. Oooooooooooooo tannerite........ask the OP about that, other than that if you can bring the plates, bring'em.
  11. Don't forget about the Laserlytes (i think) that is the rear sight mounted laser system.... http://www.laserlyte.com/
  12. Very Nice Price!!!! I love my Gen4 G26 and am looking forward to adding a Gen4 G19, then a G17 and so on and so on. They are replacing my Gen3's though I don't plan to get rid of my Gen3's.... ......oh and PICS or it didn't happen.
  13. In all reality it'd have to say my G26, as it's my daily carry. I have more trigger time with it then I've had with any of my Glocks I've owned in any caliber. It just works well for me.....though I'd definatly tie the G19 with the G26 in my situation.
  14. WOW...that's quite the selection. I can't seem to see anything except a SIG 522 I think at the WalMart in Oak Ridge.....every time I'm in there they seem to be out of everything I want.....of course I hate WalMart so I'm hardly every there.
  15. I'll have mine today after work and will post pics and give my .02 worth........
  16. ^^ That's what I thought after I read his post. I didn't think open bolts could "cook off " anything.....glad you posted....reconfirmed it for me.
  17. I used Brownells and of course YouTube for some help. Since I had never staked a barell or actually had hands on with the trigger group I had a experianced person to help with these two items....still the build wasn't bad.
  18. For the one I've bought, it'll be a range toy for the wife. Lord knows she won't abuse it and I don't fore see any issues ......BUT if it turns out to be a decent piece, I may buy another (since they are cheap) and put it through some good use to see how they'd really stand up.
  19. Why not?? Cheap lower for a beater type rifle.....great price point and it's not like the parts in or on the lower are expensive anyways.....not like it's going to see combat or anything. I think it'll be fine for the normal "range" person......
  20. I recently built my AR with the help of a few friends, gun shows and Brownells for about $550 total. That was the easy part. Then I realizied that the items I had received from friends (forearm/grip/butstock) for dirt cheap weren't really what I wanted. So then I bought the items I really wanted, added a PA microdot, changed out the front gas block and then realizied I now had about $750 into the AR I really wanted to begin with. Building a general truck beater type AR can be cheap, but building the one you want will be expensive.
  21. I've already ordered one. Should actually be able to pick it up today or tomorrow I hope from Farnsworth. When I do I'll post pics and give my 2 cents worth. Reason I bought it was for my wife's .22lr project. Figured it wouldn't be a bad choice for a dedicated .22lr upper considering I'd doubt the wife would even shoot 1000rnds out of it in 10 yrs so it should hold up just fine for a cheap product. We'll see though...... For poops and giggles until I get my .22lr upper in, I may put my 5.56 upper on it to check out general fit and finish. I've heard these are much like the Plum Crazy's as far as tight fit goes. If I'm frisky after that, I may hit Norris range and try it out.....
  22. Personally, I like to tinker and as I have with all my toys, I change things on them or "mod" them to my likings. With having said that, unless you plan on converting a Saiga or building one from a kit, just buy one. There are higher end AK's in the $800 range with poly furniture and there are AK's in the $400 range with used wood furniure. Most anything furniture wise on most AK's can be changed. There are a few that do require more work but can still be done easily with "garage" tools. Decide on how much you are looking to spend. Then you can start choosing your AK from your price point. If you can afford an Arsenal build or even a RedJacket build, then do it......other than that, they will all pretty much do about the same thing and give you the pretty much the same results...
  23. There's room. Just show up. I'm sure the OP will have better directions posted soon.....
  24. I'd say it's awsome shootin. I still can't do much past 125yrds with irons though....just bad eyes. You're groupings should come together and be more tight with practice. Sure, try different ammo but if you can shoot like that, I wouldn't worry about anything except practice..
  25. I was 7 or 8 when I shot my first "big" hand gun......a .44Mag. Nearly knocked myself out with it.....all my dad could do was laugh. I'd shot .22lr pistols before but had never shot anything larger...when I say the .44 all I could think of was Dirty Harry...I just had to try to shoot it...
