Loved my Frontier and my Plum Crazy lower I had. Nothing wrong with them. I think we need a sticky saying the poly lowers are cool to use.

Eeh...I got a shootin' buddy in Kin-tucky and one in Georgia. Both their deals are around the same as found here. Alot of it, is the people you end up knowing becomming a part of a forum. Things have their advantages as well as a higher level of a safety factor...not to mention the friends you make along the way. That's priceless compared to any gun shop therefore we tend to give better deals to "friends and family".....most other places are the same I'd say. I just paid $480 for a Gen3 G19 from a store front. MINT condition, like basically been "racked" all of it's life. Still had the copper inside. That's a great deal from a store and would have been a good price for folks on here to. One of the reasons I don't mind helping out the local gun shops IF they treat "fair as fair" and keep prices reasonable. I know they have to make a buck but asking for $75 over the price of Buds + their own transfer fees is purely stupid. Cash is cash but moving stock is what a gun store wants and needs to thrive. The question always seems to be "do you want to make a transfer fee or would you like to move a gun today?" Believe it or not, many opt for the transfer vs. lowering their prices......

Dogs are great. I have one. Shepard/Lab mix. Wouldn't trade her 85lb butt for nothing. She's a sweetie and gets along with the cat just fine. She's strutted her stuff a time or two though. Had to buy a new front door when someone came a knockin' at 11:30 at night. Who ever it was she clawed at the door wanting to get to them. When the police arrived, she paced the yard intensivly sniffing for a trail. Took her a few days to get back to "normal" but who ever it was, she did not like them. Tore at the door scratcing and would not heal when comanded. First and only time she's not listen and obey'd comands. She's one of kind but she's gettin old. Going to get a puppy with in a few years. With a 6 year old, a puppy ain't to far away. Plan on trying to convince the wife to let us buy a "security" type dog and not a purse rat. I plan to get the proper training for it as a puppy too. -

Coastal LED Lenser. $40 at HomeDepot. It's tail cap operated, blinding and casts a beam great for squirl or coon huntin'. NO LIE. Bright enough to lite a large 48x36 room easily. Uses 3AAA batteries. I've got one I carry everyday with my usual stuff and the wife has one for the bed side. While playing with them, we've had neighbors call to ask if out lights are out or if we know someone with a flash light is walking around our house. When the neighbors notice you're playing with a flashlight, it's a darn good light. -
Of course. All .38's suck.......if their not being shot by me. One of my first times shooting with my dad was with .38 loads out of a Colt Python my Uncle had. They figured at 8yrs old I had graduated to .357 loads. They didn't say a word, just loaded the .357 rounds instead of the .38's I had been shootin. I was didn't have a good grip so my forehead ended up with the inprint of the hammer and the rear site blade scalped me on my hair line. Still have the scar.....

Inside Waist Band Carry uncomfortable.

The CompTac MTAC I've been using for almost 7 years took days to find the spot that worked for me. Using the adjustments I'd fiddle with it until I found something that worked and was confortable. I personally hate OWB carry as I tend to hit my elbow on the gun... -
Do you carry your firearm with one in the chamber?
kwe45919 replied to Hoky_Tonk69's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That's what I was saying. If it's already known that the person has a gun legally and are carrying it legally with thier permit you have in their hand, at that point, I think it's irresponsible to even ask the person to touch it. I mean all it could take is a sneeze and all of a sudden gun shots are blazin'...... Every officer I know has always said "stay buckled and hands on the steering wheel. Please don't move'em until I hand you your license back." Simple enough to do and understand and comply with. -
That's a sweet build. One of these days....I just may go that direction. I'll definatly have to look into one of those lowers.

That is beautiful. May be a .38 but it's still slick.

If you'll look at TGO Davids S&W 19.....the finish is pretty much the same as mine. I swear the blueing on the older Smith revolvers hold up way better than today's blued guns though I'm sure the process is the same. (or should be close to the same).

You'll get mixed opinions on this. Personally, I see nothing wrong with the Eotech brand. I've had 2. They just "feel" weird to me. I went the Aimpoint route and enjoy the reddot tube better. Aimpoint Pro's can be had for $400 off of Amazon and other places. Either way you win because they both are fantastic products. It'll just be your choice on which to get. I'm sure you've searched the net and read about the actual differences between the two, lord knows there's tons of threads on here about them both. It's going to end up being your personal choice......

Both of these were carried by my Papaw while on the Knoxville City Police Dept. and Knox County Sheriff's Dept. He retired in the late 70's from Knoxville City and retired in the early 80's from Knox County. This was his duty gun for both dept. Bought brand new by my grandmother for a birthday present. Behind the 19-2 you can see the origional holster used by my Papaw. Still in great shape. Garufa, Oh shoot and a few others may remember it from some of our early Norris range outings. S&W 19-2 Next up was my Papaw's BUG. It's a Walther model 5 (I believe) cal 6,35 or .25auto for those who don't understand the 6,35. I'm missing the barell bushing (thanks dad) but it functions perfect. All proof marks match and the s/n is in the early 15000's. My dad forgot to twist the bushing tight and while shooting it lost the bushing and recoil spring. Still trying to track down a barell bushing and have been for years. Both of these are precious to me and no ammount of money could buy them......(unless I was flat out broke)

l'll definatly trade you a hamburger today for a holster like that tomorrow. Spinach not included. Be a cool home for my Keltec 32.....great job and looks sturdy.

Do you ever see other people carrying?
kwe45919 replied to gregintenn's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I notice people CCing' more and more every day. It's the way they walk, squat or "adjust" them selves while being in public. Quite noticeable if you know what actions to look for. People not reaching up high or bending over, tugging at their shirt or pants....it's funny actually. As far as open carry, usually it's old guys like OhShoot ( ) who carry open.....the old guys know the officers usually wont give them to much hassle when OCing. The younger crowd OCing'......well, that's a different story for a different day. -
I've tried to find pants that "work" for me but what fits in the waist usually doesn't fit for length or vise versa. Finding and being able to try on pants is a painfull process for me. On top of that, 5 days out of the week it's my work uniform pants and they have deep pockets which is where my Keltec comes in to play as a "bug".
-
I'm not a "small" guy so to say...pretty average being 6ft but there's no way I could get that into my pocket. I can barely get my KelTec P32 in my pocket...ya'll must be some BIG fellas......

Do you carry your firearm with one in the chamber?
kwe45919 replied to Hoky_Tonk69's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
This.^^ After reading the last few pages, I see one issue no one has brought up.......if an officer is asking me to hand over my weapon that is legally holstered and loaded, COULD that not be misconstrued by any officer or backup officer at any time that I am now imploring defense of myself causing the officers to believe that I am now intending harm to the officer? Think about it guys, GUN-COP-ME with a gun in my hand, I sneeze (making a sudden action) the officer misconstrues the action and draws his weapon thinking I'm trying to shoot him and now he's shooting me........Just seems like disaster recipie for both parties. Seemes pretty ignorant for an officer to do such a thing with a legal HCP holder that got pulled over for a "rolling stop" at a stop sign. Accidents happen and every situation is different. I don't want to get shot for sneezing while attempting to hand over my weapon that the officer shouldn't be asking me to see just so he can run the S/N. I have officers in my family and I understand where an officers mind is during a simple traffic stop. The officers feel uneasy anyways as they all want to go home at the end of the day. This just seems STUPID for an officer to do on a simple traffic stop....it's just upping the tension for both parties. The legal HCP holder should not have to do anything except get his traffic ticket and be on his way. I feel it's just safer for both parties.....your opinions may vary. BTW......the few times I've been through "road blocks" at night and shown my liscense and HCP, I've never been questioned or hassled. Most officers would perfer NOT to handle or even see a weapon at a traffic stop or road block and I question the motives, judgements and profiling of an officer that does so. Don't care who you are or what department your from, you're putting added danger to a simple traffic stop in asking for the persons firearm loaded or unloaded......... -
Bull run is hop, skip and a jump away from me. I fish by it all the time and drive by it everyday..... I've heard a few people talk about it at tractor supply and have heard that TVA has call in some type of "animal/critter" expert to investigate. Been said they've searched and found nothing so far and that they believed that it's an animal that may have been seperated from it's mother/pack. Anyone heard anything else?

This would definatly be the way to go and Spots is a great guy considering he's volunteering to pay for the service to get the correct job done. (I'm sure you'll be required to pay it back) Kinney is awsome and they do superb work. Awsome thing to do Spots for a fellow member. Kudo's for being one of the good guys.....

.......and a fellow co-worker couldn't find one anywhere (so he said) and ended up paying $760 for a Bushmaster from Buds.

Firearms confiscation. How would it go down?
kwe45919 replied to timcar86's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So, my personal opinion......we all could or would give up A gun if it came down to it for what ever reason. One gun out of many isn't a problem for most of us. I give you one gun with my left hand while I'm shooting you or at you with my right hand holding another gun. -
OOOOOK, I feel stupid. I thought you were having major problems with your Sig when I read the title of the thread,

That video rocks.....My ego is invested in every firearm I own!!

One of the first Poly 1911's I can remember was the Kimber BP.I had one years back. It shot like sub-compact 1911 as far as recoil.....trigger wasn't great either. Bought it for $700 but couldn't sell it for more than $500. No one wanted it......bone head move in my 1911 days.
