17year old with record killed in botched robbery
kwe45919 replied to Patton's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I love to see people getting bent out of shape for comments when it seems apparent that they are not reading or comprehending what they are reading and add to that that the media is "NEVER" wrong or incorrect with what they print can make forums fun. :pleased: Stupid thinking that one could buy 4 tablets for $1000 and assume that there shouldn't, wouldn't, couldn't be any thing suspicious about it...especially from Craigs List. Smart thinking that a public place such as the BI-LO grocery store would be a good place to meet. Stupid for the robbers trying to snatch cash when one never knows who has a gun these days. I could go on and on but the "stupid" in the story out numbers the "smart". Sad the kid had to die as he was someone's child but the defense of ones life is more important then the one trying to take yours. :usa: -
If it's a single stack micro 9mm, I'd buy one. I could see them doing it to compete with the PF9's and LC9's off the world......

My wife has a G19C and has had it for almost 8 or so years.......no issues with it at all but we have a LoneWolf barrel in it now as that makes it easier for cleaning after range time. The 19C was the optimal choice years ago for her but after a while the "C" just wasn't needed. Now it's just a G19 with a lightened slide. :pleased:

The Sig 2022 is a fine firearm. I've had one, just not a big Sig fan. It shot excellent and the people I know who have them love them......

Once I found out just how sturdy and tuff my tools were, I bought more just so I'd have a set that was new and sparkly. My G26 and G19 have been carried for years and I suspect it'd be about 10 more years of EDC before they'd need any type of "refinish". Springs and such are replaced every few years as they are cheap. I by no means baby my EDC's either. If they get dirty, they get cleaned but by no means am I afraid of them getting dirty or scratched. Hell, I've tossed my G26 into a shallow creek for a $20 bet.

Paul....my wife noticed this on her facebook page posted by from a common friend of ours. Glad to know everythings OK. We all were worried with you......... -
I know Dolo has gone over this information on countless threads over the past few years. I think he even did his own thread on the 7 vs 9 twist and what grain is best with each and why. You can try a search for it....

I had a Tec 9 about 7 or 8 years ago or so and went as far as drilling and tapping for a small rail for the reddot. It was a fun toy. For the most part, it worked though it did choke pending on the ammo used. It liked the +p stuff for reliability but didn't like any type of SD hollow point ammo. I wasn't good for much other than a great conversation piece at the range. The AP9 I had was a much better pistol then the Tec9 was and was more reliable on your basic 115gr stuff. Still nothing more than a range toy. I ended up selling them both on here a long time ago. They were fun and nostalgic but utterly worthless.... Man what a lucky deal......merry early Christmas to you.

I can carry 8 loaded mags on a chest rig and 10 mags worth of ammo on stripper clips. Generally 150rnds per side to even the weight. It's heavy but tolerable with other gear on.

I have to start saving cash again for ammo. I've tried not to hit the range that much this summer to help save cash for reloading supplies. Gona give it a whirl and try to get my dad into it. I figure he's retired and not doing anything so if I buy the stuff, he can make it and WE can go shooting more together while having an abundant supply.

My wife grew up shootin' with her dad on early S&W auto's and revolvers. Many years later and after all the caliber, model and styles of pistols I've had over the years, the wife turned to a G19 as her number 1 go to pistol. So much in fact she bought her own and to this day is the only firearm she's ever bought.

^^ Please tell me you and that GI Joe character look just alike?? I'm an Aimpoint person but can't say enough about the Eotech....like most people, we've tried them all and these two seem to be the best for their own reasons. Can't go wrong with either one. Thanks TGO David......I'm interested in the OPMod now........gona have to check them out.

Let's see, my most memorable snake moment.....I shot a, what turned out to be a 4ft black snake, with my .38 snubby while under my dads house running new cable wire. I moved a piece of insulation and heard a hiss and felt what I assume was the tail hit the back of my neck. Needless to say, I screamed like a girl and zonked my head on a rafter and about knocked myself out. When I figured out that it was a "big" snake that was under the house with me, not knowing what kind or just how big, I whipped out the .38 and waited motionless, scared that I was about to be bit by something. I heard a sound, heard a thud and saw motion. The damn thing just dropped down onto the ground with me. I take aim and right as the snake turns and looks at me I let the round fly. Slight downward shot through the neck below the head and into the ground. Realized with it being 5ft away I had snake guts in my hair. Wonderfull....

Looks like a CZ and a Sig had some alone time..........bottom CZ and top Sig.....love the combo and it looks great together. Looks balanced. I really like the looks of this gun and would love to fondle and shoot it. I gotta find out some more information on these and get one if they come in 9mm. Thanks for sharing and tell us how it shoots and handles....oh and some more pics please. :pleased:

I've had all kinds of pistols with all sorts of sights in all sorts of styles and colors. Personally, I've continued to use AmeriGlo products and they have kept their illumination longer and have appeared to be more durable than Warren, Trijicon, TruGlow, XS, Mepro's along with some others I've had. My personal preference is a Green/Green as far as color and I've never had any issues with keeping up with the front sight. The basic style sights like a GL113 is what works for me......

A Jennings J22 was my first handgun I acquired when I was 12 ......I'd love to find another one that wasn't beat up and used hard.

I'd say it's easily a $400 dollar revolver........if it's in better shape than I think it is, you could get $500 or more pending the right collector. Damn sweet find. That thing will shoot like a dream, just wait. Ya'll suck for robbin' that man of his grandfathers gun. :pleased:

Pistol 9mm Defensive 400rnds 127gr +P / Range 1100rnds 115gr Rifle .223/5.56 Defensive 900rnds .77gr / Range 700rnds 55/62gr My Glocks and AR's are my defensive weapons Small caliber "semi defensive/hunting/hiking" .22lr and .32ACP I've got around 300rnds of each in various grains and styles. Everything else is a range toy. As I buy a rifle/pistol to play with, I'll then buy some ammo for it to play with it. Other than that, I don't stock anything.

I think the choice should be the Sig.... You've already been intimate and relied on the Sig to protect your butt and John Q publics' butt. You've trained to use it and you've got your instincts tuned to it. The time you've already invested in this Sig is more valuable then choosing the Glock "because". ...... I'm down right a Glock guy.....truthfully, a G26 guy. I've put too much time and effort into my carry weapon that all others have become nothing but range queens. I've tried to carry almost everything over the years and I just can't let my G26 be replaced. I have thousands of rounds on this platform and the instinct is natural during use. I'll even choose it over a G19 anyday but with the time invested, I know it's the only choice to protect my ass. Nothing wrong with the G17 or G19 but if you're just as natural with the Glock, it becomes a no brainer. Kinda like AR's......Glocks are everywhere. Alota people have them. When the end comes.....there'll be tons of them around for parts unless Zombies start eating metal or the aliens blow up the planet first.

I hate to say it but I think I may have to bow out of this one. The little one is pretty sickly and Momma not doin so good herself from taking care of her. Suppose it's only time before I get infected with the sickness. Not looking good for future plans this weekend. :surrender: -
Need some help with glock 19 concealed carry methods
kwe45919 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I carry a G26 almost all the time but occasionally carry my G19. Though a noticeable difference in both, they are quite easy to carry the same way for me. I found the key is with depth of the gun in the pants when carrying at 4 to 5oclock for me. I went with a few different IWB holsters till I found the sweet spot wtih a CompTac MTAC. Its the adjustments that take time and effort to make to find the sweet spot when you start carrying and dealing with holsters. No matter what holster you go with or what gun you have, when you figure out that comfortable spot you can adapt your equiptment to be comfortable no matter what you have. I've carried while doing some pretty hard heavy duty dirty work and it doesn't even bother me if I'm under my car laying on the ground or sittin in a church pew. Just have to find that sweet spot..... My dad uses a Crossbreed and has a new MTAC in the drawer. He couldn't find his sweet spot with the MTAC carrying at 3oclock but the Crossbreed worked wonders. IWB is definatly something to work with and get used to so you may have to find a few different holster to try before one clicks. Also try different carrying positions as well...don't limit yourself. -
2nd day of HCP carry incidents (paranoia?)
kwe45919 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Time to chill and take a deep breath. Go about your day as normal and the tingling sensation will subside. Nothing going on unusual but stay observant.
