Looking to sell my almost new scope. It has seen 2 range trips and 1 hunting trip where it wasn’t carried into the field. Maybe had 50 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor shot. This was previously on a target only gun, but I took it hunting this year and realized the minimum of 6 power was much too great for hunting, and I can never see a need for 24 power. Looking to sell this one and purchase a smaller magnification scope. $500for scope. $600 and I’ll throw in the Vortex Precision cantilever mount with 20 MOA cant. The way I had it figured, with the 20 MOA base I had basically 50 MOA of upward travel and could dial the 6.5 out to 1300 yards. Great scope, works fantastic, just need something smaller.

Hey, I remember when .40 S&W was all the rage and everyone thought 9mm was underpowered (which it was, admittedly). With ammo advancement, most have abandoned .40 and moved back to 9mm, favoring reduced recoil, but maybe more so, increased capacity. So, we’ve already seen a caliber shift in favor of capacity, maybe we will see it again.

I’ve got molds for 230 grain lead bullets for my 1911, but I don’t have the time to start casting right now. I’m looking to work up a load, so that when I do start casting I can start making ammo too. So I’m looking to purchase a small quantity of lead 230 grain bullets, FP preferred, but I’d work with RN or SWC. Just looking to get an idea of what works best for lead in the 45 ACP, I’ll fine tune once I cast my own.

Mounted then put in safe. Took the wife out to try and shoot today and her arms are too short, the side saddle and shells drag her arm and sleeve when working the pump, so taking it off. So, has been mounted , but basically new. Still have packaging and will include 2 12 gauge snap caps. Fits the 500, 590, and Maverick 88. $20 or trade for ammo or some of the Velcro shotgun cards, that way I could take them off when she shoots.

Don’t know which part of the state you’re in, but Academy has 18.5 inch Mavericks for $199 and 20 inch with extended magazines for $229. Heck of a deal considering they take all of the 500 and most (if not all) of the 590 parts.

I dunno about this thing. It feels like an answer to a problem no one asked. Capacity is king these days, so I get the logic, but was another new cartridge necessary? Who am I to say? I thought the .327 Federal Mag was needless, but it seems to have hung on, and I even catch myself eying one every once and a while. For the .327 it makes sense, 6 rounds in a small revolver that otherwise holds 5. In that sense, 6 is a lot more than 5, but in the case of the 30 SC is 12 really a lot more than 10? Where it might get interesting for me is if they can cram 15 rounds in a standard sized Hellcat or P365. That would be a meaningful jump.

I have a great condition Glock 20, has Ameriglo Night Sights and a Lone Wolf stainless barrel. I went to an upgraded barrel for better chamber support but can include original barrel if I can find it. Can also include an IWB holster. It’s a great package, but I recently got a Glock 29, so I’d like the extra velocity of the longer barrel. Also, I could press the 20 into a CCW role, but no longer need that option as I’ve got the 29.

I know this is an old thread, but curious what you went with. I’m constantly seeing .450 Bushmaster ammo on shelves, even at Walmart. I went with .50 Beowulf, for no reason other than I just wanted a .50 cal AR. It’s hard to find ammo for, hard to reload for, and hard on the shoulder, but it does put a smile on your face.

Only ammo I have ever had a bad experience with was a brand called Maxx Tech. I tried 9, .40, and .45 in multiple guns. I could never get it to cycle the slide reliably and got occasional bad primers. I have my preferences, but I’d trust my life to almost any ammo you can find, other than Maxx Tech.

Any interest in selling the ammo alone?

Ok. I picked up some powder from @RED333 offline. I’m offering up some Cast Performance bullets. The sticker has been peeled off these, but they’re 320 grain .430 hard cast gas checked bullet. Full-ish box. I counted 98, but I don’t swear to that, once I count off my fingers and toes it’s all in my head, and I don’t know what’s going on in there most of the time.

I’d stick to Glock. Since you already have a 20. Glock really is the best option out there for 10 mil. I’m a 1911 fan, but don’t care for the safety or the round count. I don’t personally care for the grip on an XD, and all the Sig options feel to big and heavy for what they are. Plus I like the low bore axis on the Glock, it really tames the 10mm recoil.

So, I’m 5’6, 170 lbs ish. My clothes aren’t tight, but aren’t baggy either. I can conceal my G29 better than my G19. The shorter grip really makes it a breeze to carry. won’t lie, it has significantly more felt recoil than the 20 does, but that is par for the course. Shoot it a few times and you figure out how to handle it. Another option is a chest holster, which would hold either the 20 or 29. That puts the gun in a different place that may be more comfortable for your needs. Also still easily concealed under a jacket if needed. I will say, the 29 is a touch wider, it is tight in my G20 holsters.

1. Reliability 2. fit in hand. Doesn’t matter how good I shoot it, the grip on an XD just gives me the willies. Like walking around in a wet sock or licking a tongue depressor. 3. Ability to accept multiple mags. I like a Glock 26, but like to have a 17 or even 20 round mag as a backup. 4. Night sights.

6.8 SPC or .277 Wolverine (just cause it sounds cool). For a big bore I went with .50 Beowulf. If I were telling someone to build a big bore, I would probably say .450 Bushmaster, it will be the easiest to get ammo for and big bores are fun. .458 SOCOM for a reloaded since they have a wide variety of .45-70 bullets. Both are better options than the .50... but I wanted a .50. In reality I know I would have been better with something else, but the heart wants what the heart wants. To answer the question, with the options you listed, as a decent all around gun, .300 Blackout. Best variety of factory loaded ammo, from plinking to subsonic, to hunting ammo. Strong second would be .350 Legend, but I don’t think it has quite the versatility the Blackout does.

I dunno. I was stationed in Camp Lejeune it was always hot and nearing 100% humidity. We would frequently travel to The Desth Valley area and temps would exceed 110. I’d much rather take a blistering dry heat over a hot and humid. Also, you may be surprise how hot the trunk of your car gets when sitting in the sun. I think that’s why they say not to put your baby in the trunk (or something like that).

I’m a staunch hater of PCCs. If I am going to carry something the size of a rifle, I want the advantage of a rifle caliber. To me PCCs are the worst of both worlds, too big and too underpowered. Then I got a Ruger PC Charger. I know that is different from the standard Ruger PC9. But holy cow, the ability to share mags with Glocks, the super light recoil, the takedown option, I can really burn through some ammo. Add to that, the Charger has the folding stock and short barrel, it’s just loads of fun. Practically, I still can’t see much of an advantage, but we don’t always need to be practical.

I have a milsurp M17. Omega is right about them being a pain to change out the filters. We actually bought this one for adding chemicals to our pool. We use all liquid chemicals and liquid chlorine and muriatic acid make a combination close to mustard gas. I’m using old milsurp filters and we can’t smell anything when mixing chemicals. Now, if I knew I’d be encountering CBRN agents, I’d get a better mask, but for my needs this works, and I’d trust it in a pinch if the SHTF. Also, I doubt you will find one that would go over your glasses. The frame of the glasses would break the seal on a mask rendering it useless.

Ok. I can certainly admit when I’m out of my depth on something, just don’t have enough experience with pistol optics. It’s something about the slide milling that gets me. If I had an optics ready gun, I’d probably take the plunge, but having to send my slide o to get milled is just not something I’m ready to dive into. So, I’ll ask the optics guys, do you run optics in all your guns? Some of your guns? Just your target guns? Just your carry guns?
