Link? I've never seen a CP33 review by Hickok45 and haven't been able to find it via search.

Eagle Eye Shooting Complex in Mt. Pleasant, TN will have an Introductory NRL22 Match on May 11th starting at 9:00am. This is a kid-friendly event. We’d like to see some new “young guns” at the regular matches and encourage parents to bring their children out to learn. You do not have to be a NRL22 member to shoot the match. 50 rounds of 22LR per shooter will be required for the 5-stages and can be purchased onsite. Loaner rifles and other gear will be available for anyone to use who is interested in trying out NRL22.

If you have to defend yourself in a car, I don't think how loud a handgun is nor the minor damage to your hearing are very relevant.

Sorry for the delay in responding. The trigger on mine is good. Since it's 80% of a 10/22 trigger, it shouldn't be hard to modify if necessary to clean up or lighten the trigger pull.

Cheap flashlights that use a single 18650 battery?
billmeek replied to DaveTN's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I had problems out of the couple of smaller (AAA) Fenix lights I've owned. The titanium ThruNite was only $20 has been one of the the most reliable flashlights I've owned. For the last 2+ years I've carried it daily and really like the 162 lumens out of a AAA light. I wish I'd bought a spare before they were discontinued. -

I bought one of these in Oct of 2016 and it's been a decent light the few times I've needed to use it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X3L239O/ Most of the time when I need a flashlight, I use the one I always carry in my pocket which is a single AAA ThruNite Ti Cree XP-L V4 in Titanium alloy. -
Paid $399 (shipped) for a Ruger PC Carbine from Palmetto State Armory earlier this month. One of the things I really like is that it's essentially a scaled up Ruger 10/22 take-down. Even the trigger is 80% based on the 10/22. If you are comfortable with the 10/22 layout (like I am), the PC Carbine feels like a slightly heavier version.

Look at the ATN X-Sight series. Example footage found via YouTube:

<grumble, grumble> I just ordered a Ruger PC Carbine last week from Palmetto State Armory since they had it for $399 shipped. It arrived at my FFL today, but I didn't have time to go pick it up yet. In the meantime I ordered one of the MCKs from Guns Midwest for $178.79 (including shipping and 2.5% credit card fee). Thanks for helping my bank account whimper (even more) by pointing out the MCK. <grin>

Your receipt from the DMV does not indicate that you have been approved (i.e. passed the background check) for a new concealed carry permit.

From the TN code annotated:

I've shot both and the Custom felt better. But in hindsight, it may have been that the LCP II was new back then and the Custom was well broken in at that time.
-
To me, the sights make little difference as I can't use them without wearing reading glasses. The LCP is a point-and-shoot pistol anyway. I bought the LCP II for the better trigger. If you can find one, the LCP Custom supposedly has a better trigger than the LCP. Last time I looked, they were priced in-between a plain LCP and the LCP II.

I've got a Talley one-piece on my Encore: https://www.talleymanufacturing.com/product/encore-impact-omega-triumph-and-pro-hunter/ While not steel, I doubt there'd be any problem holding up with any caliber made for the Encore.

Thanks for posting this Paulshoot. I was considering the Taurus TX22 as another 22LR plinker, but was turned off by the one-year warranty.

I started shooting again a little less than 2 years ago and have gone though a whole range of pistols to get what I consider to be the best daily carry solution for me. I started off with a Glock 19/23, briefly went to a S&W Shield, changed to a Glock 26, and now carry a Sig P365 with a the 12-round mag. I don't like the feel with the 10-round mag. I'm still slightly more accurate with the Glocks as I've only put about 2000 rounds through the P365 so far.

Regarding Traffic Stops & Action After Self Defense
billmeek replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I think it's a good way to tell the officer that you are carrying a firearm. When presented with a concealed carry permit, they'll usually ask if you have firearm on you and it's location. I'd much rather disclose that I have a pistol on me than them to spot it when reaching in the glove box for insurance card/registration or other movement. That's more likely to fuel an intense situation. Something a former LEO said to me is that criminals are unlikely go through the process of getting a carry permit. Showing a carry permit upfront demonstrates to the officer that you are concerned about the safety of you both. -
When I received my P365, I ordered a Pancake holster from Desert Gun Leather. Rick has always done very good work. Note - the P365 is not listed on his website. You can call/email to order one. I'm not the most athletic individual (a brisk walk is my top speed these days), but I've not had any issue with retention on the pancake holsters. I just make sure they are wet fitted (molded) to the pistol.

I joined the local NRL22 matches here in Middle TN this year. Since the SE Regional match is going to be held locally, of course I’ll attend even though I don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning. I have been lucky enough to win a couple of prizes at the national level including an Area 419 rail for a CZ 455 or 457 in the random draw for February. While there is going to be a prize table for winners, NRL22 has been very good to me and I thought I’d give back something locally by putting up a better item for a random draw than might otherwise be available so that everyone competing has a chance at winning a nice prize. So I’m donating a Limited Edition (from 2017) Savage A22 FV FDX XP rifle. This is a new in the box rifle that has only been pulled out to take the accompanying pictures. The difference of this model from the standard Savage A22 is that it has a FDE stock, 16.5″ threaded barrel, comes with a Butler Creek 25-round mag (in addition to the regular 10-round rotary mag), and is topped off with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight. I have another one of these (scoped) and it’s pretty accurate for an out of the box 22LR. Please note that I'm personally providing this rifle without compensation from the league, I'm not attempting to advertise my business, nor am I associated with NRL22 or the local chapter other than just being a member and enjoying the sport. It's my way of giving back to the local club by encouraging others to show up for the match. To win the rifle: 1) You must register for the 2019 NRL22 SE Regionals. Note - you do NOT have to be a NRL22 member to sign up for the regionals and participate. 2) Show up and shoot the 12 stages. 3) Be there in person for the prize drawing after the match. 4) And put up with having your photo taken with your new Savage A22 FV FDX XP rifle. Big grin is optional. More details on the match: The NRL.22 South East Regional Championship will be a 1-day precision rimfire event consisting of 12 stages and requiring a minimum of 120 rounds to complete. Target engagements may range from 25 to 370 yards. The NRL22 South East Regional is a stand alone event. The match will be ran under the 2018-2019 NRL22 rule set. However the match does not count toward season points or placement in the National Championship. Shooters should expect a fun and challenging match. The NRL22 South East Regional is open to all shooters. It is not required to be a NRL22 member to enter or draw from the prize table. The match is open to all shooters from all locations. The match fee includes a match t-shirt, lunch, and 12 challenging stages. For any questions, feel free to call the match director Mike Millikan at 931-306-1090 Registration is open on practiscore: https://practiscore.com/2019-nrl-22-south-east-regional-championship/register Price: $75 Address: Eagle Eye Shooting Complex 30 Elk Ridge Rd. Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474 Start time: 7:00 am on April 13th 2019.
