  1. I'm impressed. And glad I live in Knox County.
  2. Definitely Good Luck Sir, and Thank you.     :hat:
  3. Thank you Runco.  :hat:
  4. It's a good question Troutberger....and a valid one.   I'm pretty broke, so that makes my decision an easy one LOL.   But this same question is flooding the "interweb" at a rapid rate.   I recall only too well Clinton, and I actually think we were better off with him (God I never thought I'd say that) than with Mr. Obama...so a halt by E.O. isn't farfetched.     If I could...I'd grab a bunch of Wolf Primers. I'm probably in a minority, but I've had great success with them.       Happy Hunting folks.
  5. YMMV but I do lube 9mm.   I handload a fair amount of 9mm. I find a quick spray of lube makes the whole process run smoother in my Dillon.
  6. Wow.   Thank you Red.
  7. Thanks also OS.   Emails sent out Friday.       I appreciate the hard work gunlobbyist.
  8.   Don't worry Brasil...I sure you'll still be to blame.     I enjoyed shooting with you guys yesterday. Great food as well.
  9. CZ;   Your list looks great. Congratulations.   I find handloading to be a very pleasurable and rewarding experience. I have no doubt you will as well.   There is some excellent info and suggestions in this thread.   On down the line (I don't recall seeing it recommended, but may have overlooked it) but you may want to pick up a "handloader's whiteout": http://www.midwayusa.com/product/667064/lyman-magnum-impact-bullet-puller     Something I recently picked up as I've ventured out from my chosen loads for the past 25 years is a chronograph. (I always had access to one until moving to TN...and I'm a cheap basterd LOL). I wanted to put in a plug for a Competition Electronics Prochrono Chronograph. I picked up mine from MidwayUSA, with a discount coupon and sale for $105.00 including shipping. You just gotta watch for those sales. :pleased: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/852429/competition-electronics-prochrono-digital-chronograph?cm_vc=ProductFinding       Keep us posted on your experiences. Enjoy.
  10. Good suggestions. Solid article.
  11. While I haven't tried them in .357, I do load plated DEWC 148 gr for my J-Frame S&W.   I use 4.2 gr. of AA#2 and get an average chrono velocity of 719 fps.   It's a "peppy" J-Frame load based on some Jim Cirrilo  (NYPD Stakeout Squad) data.   I don't have any data for Bullseye, but with W 231 and AA#2, these serve my purposes. Hopefully the info can give you a starting point.
  12. I'm a big fan of Alliant Unique as well for 9mm and have used it for many years.   I've also had success with Winchester 231 and Alliant American Select.   Locating powders has been a challenge for most folks over the past year, and actually forced me to seek out and try new powders...which I probably should have done long before now.   I know some friends have had success with Cays and e3.
  13.   What? Seriously ll Duce?   I don't think you have to be a resident in order to try and help put things right.       I for one appreciate the work Knife Rights is putting into this.
  14. I would say get both a progressive and a single stage.   I have a Dillon 550 I purchased in the late 1980's and it has served me extremely well. But I picked up what amounts to the Lee Anniversary Kit a couple of years before the Dillon and learned the mechanics on it.   I still use the single stage all the flipping time. That old Lee just won't wear out. I've been sizing cast bullets with it recently, but use it for load development all the time...then set the Dillon up for volume.   I would love to have an RCBS...I'm still waiting on that Lee to wear out so I can justify the purchase to myself.     http://www.midwayusa.com/product/423081/lee-challenger-breech-lock-single-stage-press-anniversary-kit     I don't have any experience with the Hornady but it sure has a great rep.
  15. I mailed off my renewal on 2/6/14 and received my Temp Permit today (2/15/14). Not bad.   Let's see how long the actual permit takes...I still have several weeks before expiration.   I'm pleased with the process thus far though.
  16. btw...this is the mold we are using:   http://leeprecision.com/6-cavity-356-125-2r.html     We are kicking around using this mold for .38's for our 9mm casting...any thoughts?   http://leeprecision.com/6-cav-358-125-rf.html
  17. I'm bumping this back up as a couple of friends and I have just started casting and powder coating 9mm boolits. Our 6 cavity Lee mold is dumping boolits at .356". Even with powder coating they are coming out at .356"-.357" before sizing. I initially use a .356" sizing die and found...obviously in hindsight...that the boolits are too small vs bore diameter to stabilize, and some will keyhole. I now have a .357 sizing die and will try that out. Thanks to Dolomite for putting up with my many questions. Caster...or anyone...Is there a fix as Caster mentioned above? I would have thought the powder coating would have given us a .358 or so diameter and therefore a more stable boolit. Any help or ideas are appreciated.
  18. DCritter;   Thanks for your hard work, and thanks for the link setup. That made it incredibly easy to send out the e-mails...   There's no excuse not to send a few e-mails out folks.     I don't know where this will go either, but I'm hopeful...keeping my fingers crossed anyway.
  19. ^^^^^   This, even I can keep up with !  LOL.
  20. I have a complete lower needing a 300 blackout upper. I'm moving in that direction God Willin'. :pleased:   Like BN, I look forward to casting and rollin' my on.   I'm looking forward to further news and experiences with the blackout.
  21. Ismalls;   I think your timing is great actually.   More and more women are exercising their constitutionally protected rights than ever before.    While there are many "universals" concerning the carrying of firearms, there are many things gender specific...   I wish you the best, and hope you'll let us know when you're open for business.       FWIW there are some great husband and wife teams out there "spreading the word". :pleased:     Jerry and Kay Miculek   http://miculek.com/about-us/     John and Vicki Farnam   http://defense-training.com/dti/about/
  22. E-mails sent.   Thanks to all for keeping us updated.
  23. I've had a copy for a long time.   Hugh Coffee brings a lot of real world experience working in 3rd world countries to the table.   Some aspects of the material may be a bit dated, but the majority of the information is very useful, and especially applicable to SHTF situations.   You may be able to search out and download the PDF online, but imho it's worth the price to purchase it.
  24. Thanks for the head's up.
  25.     Don't be a hater.
