Tough call: Some of my favorites are, True Romance...a Tarantino film...Clarence and Alabama are not your everyday couple...and Val Kilmer as the ghost of Elvis...awesome... :pleased: Fight Club...I never get tired of watching it. The Jerk...because most of us have a "special purpose". The original Michael Mann's "Manhunter"... Iron Butterfly's "Inagodadivada" in the last action scene kicks butt! Of course there's "Silence of the Lambs" , "T2", "Pulp Fiction", "V"....can't pick just one.

Midway lowers shipping charges
Jamie Jackson replied to Raoul's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Geez Gordon...They obviously need an idiot screening process for their clerks. Sorry about that BS. Good greif. I too think that Midway has taken advantage of us with their overpriced shipping in the past year or so...but so many things have become a "new norm" since Sandy Hook. That doesn't make it right, and I'm happy to see Midway making their shipping more realistic. I know I have to pay a lot closer attention and do a lot more shopping around that I did in the past. -

That looks to be good news. I know I'm kinda dense sometimes guys...but Lee Alox now has a HazMat fee? Is it the same as this? Link: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/466811/lee-alox-bullet-lube-4-oz-liquid Under shipping it lists as No HazMat. Earlier this year I ordered a Lee sizer Kit, a couple of hundred bullets and a Lee Case trimmer/cutter and the shipping was $15.00 UPS....not great I know...but no HazMat fee Sizer: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/342812/lee-bullet-lube-and-size-kit-357-diameter Am I misunderstanding something? My Google-fu is weak because I did try to search out... -
Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books
Jamie Jackson replied to plank white's topic in Survival and Preparedness
LOL Robert, so many books in this genre suffer the same malady. I've just come to accept it as a part of "how it goes"... :pleased: Just a head's up: "Forsaking Home" (book 4) by A. American" will release tomorrow. I had preordered it some time ago and it shipped yesterday and will arrive tomorrow. I do like my Amazon Prime. -
I ran across this thread using the "search" function as I'm looking into some Red Dot options. jcj...How is the PA AA Battery running for you? Are you still pleased with it? And what did you find out about battery life? Erik...How is the PA Micro working out for you? Quality? Durability? I have a little AK project I'm working on and I'm hoping one of these might fill the bill as they are certainly within the price range I'm considering.

Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books
Jamie Jackson replied to plank white's topic in Survival and Preparedness
You're welcome my friend. It was RobertNashville that originally recommended it in this thread. It's written by a physician around Nashville... so it's an interesting perspective...to me at least...since I spent the majority of my waking hours with a fine group of Constitution Loving, Second Amendment exercising ER Physicians and RN's. :pleased: I hope you enjoy it and would like to hear your feedback if you do read it. -
Good SHTF Survival Fiction Books

I'd appreciate a head's up on the "Holding Their Own series" too if anybody hears anything about the next book...but yeah...hipower...they sure do mend quickly in that series LOL. I'm halfway through the The Carrington Effect and it's a decent read so far. And I like the setting being in our region as well. I just checked out the "Apocalypse Law" series on Amazon and it looks interesting. Thanks Erik. I added them to my "wish list". :pleased: Forsaking Home by A.American should be mailed out in a few days when it's released. I've enjoyed his works as well. -
This is excellent info. I honestly had no idea that AIWB carry was an option for USPSA. This has been my preferred and daily carry method for a number of years. I guess it'll be USPSA for me and I too view it as a form of a training and testing opportunity. I can only hope that IDPA will eventually come around... Outstanding link Randy. Thank you! Good Luck and Best wishes to you and Spiffy.

I need recommendations for a defensive shotgun.
Jamie Jackson replied to bird333's topic in Long Guns
LOL...Mike, my head's a scary place to be anyway. My apologies for the confusion. molonlabetn...Yes...it's the intermediate cartridges I associate with carbines... Thanks. I'll try to be more clear...but no promises guys. :pleased: -
I need recommendations for a defensive shotgun.
Jamie Jackson replied to bird333's topic in Long Guns
Well said Sir. Sorry bird...I use the term carbine when referring to a round such as the 5.56 or 7.62x39...vs a "rifle' caliber round like the 7.61x51 (308) or 7.62x54R...etc,etc,etc...at least that's how it goes inside my head. -
I need recommendations for a defensive shotgun.
Jamie Jackson replied to bird333's topic in Long Guns
This has been an interesting read, I agree. And there has been some sound and thoughtful advice given. I hope you will be able to actually try each platform out for yourself... a shotgun and a carbine...be it AR,AK. Mossberg, Remington, or whatever suits you. Wherever you are in TN there is probably a TGO'er around that'd be willing to lend a hand. Good folks around here. I always have a Glock at hand...but keep a carbine and a shotgun handy and readily accessible. All of these, imho, have their niches to fill. I also still stand by my original recommendation that once you have made your choice you'll seriously consider professional training. That would be the best investment you could make. -
I currently don't have a need, but appreciate the head's up. I have no idea what the "new normal" pricing on .22 will be...but this may well around that price mark. Heck, I've had 1000 rounds of Wolf .22 on backorder from Graf's since Feb 2013. I'll leave it sit and see if it ever ships... but .22 simply isn't something we can readily make for ourselves, so I'll have to move on some eventually. I hope I don't regret letting this one pass.

Brass v steel test for .223 ammo
Jamie Jackson replied to Dustbuster's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
It is good to re-read that article. I'm with KKing and Dustbuster on this. I don't own any "safe queens" and have gone through 1000's of rounds of Wolf and Tula in my AR's and will continue to do so. Guns are tools...I take decent care of mine...but I consider them tools, and they get used, and used hard. Barrels are replaceable and relatively affordable. I respect that others choose not to shoot steel cased ammo through their guns...but I personally couldn't afford to shoot mine much without the steel cased option. -
Aug 3 Knoxville Suarez Training Group!!!
Jamie Jackson replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Training Discussions
I'm really looking forward to this. I'm getting e-mails regarding signup as well...is there a "procedure" for this? -
I've used about 10,000 Wolf primers and 15,000 Tula SPP over the past few years. The only issue I've had were with a batch (5000) of the "lead free" Tula SPP. The lead free required an installation of an extra power striker spring in my Glocks to get reliable ignition out of them. When we got the lead free Tulas shot up, I went back to OEM springs without any problems. Like David mentioned above...seating depth is critical...and simply requires a little extra attention. I'm not saying that was the problem with yours, just what I've found. Solid advice about the powder charge above as well. My preference is actually Wolf Small Pistol Magnum primers for 9mm.
