1.   That possibility exists TMF. Nullification through ignoring the law would be an incredible event, appropriate even...I simply can't afford to be a "test case". So I'll probably pony up the tax...But hope it doesn't come to that.   After having and shooting one of the little suckers it's hard to "go back".
2. True Randy... and there we go...paying the SBR privilege tax...
3.     True on many levels...but the NFA is a revenue generating tool. When ever has .gov relinquished a means generating revenue?   I wish the NFA would go the hell away too...just isn't likely in this day and age. :2cents:
4. What am I preparing for?     The Defender's Creed John Farnam I accept and understand that human predators exist. Criminal or terrorist, they take advantage of our civilized society to prey upon the weak. They represent evil and must be confronted and defeated. I believe that self-defense is a moral imperative, and that illegitimate force and illegal violence must be met with righteous indignation and superior violence. I will not rely on others for the security of myself, my family and my community. I proudly proclaim that I run with a like-minded pack. I do not amble through life with the mind-numbed herd. I will train with my chosen weapons, maintain them and carry them in a condition of readiness at all times. I will be mentally prepared and physically equipped to effectively respond to an attack or emergency. I will constantly test myself against realistic standards to discover my strengths and weaknesses. I will turn weakness into strength. I will seek to learn new skills and techniques, and then teach what I have learned to other members of the pack. Be it with firearm or blade, empty hand or blunt object, I will hit my enemies hard, fast and true. I will live a quiet and unobtrusive life, but I will develop and retain the capacity for swift and decisive violence. I recognize that I am the modern equivalent of the traditional Minuteman, and that I may be called to service at any time against heavily armed enemies. I will respond effectively. I accept that I am a pariah among some of my countrymen, and a quaint anachronism to others. I will not hold their ignorance against them. I will win, or die trying. I swear this creed before God, my family and my fellow citizens.
5. Love mine. :pleased: I'm saving my pennies for an Aimpoint T1/H1 right now as this little sucker is simply begging for it. I plan to pick up one for an AR pistol build (have the pieces and just haven't put them together yet) and put a 300 BLK upper on it as a "next year" project...Money, you know? I really like Oh Shoot's concept and will model after that.
6.     I have it on my nightstand as my next read. I had hopes...but we'll see.   I just finished book 9 of the 299 Days series...I am financially invested and because of my OCD state obviously feel the need to see this through... I'm glad it's almost over... :surrender:
7. Thanks Oh Shoot.   When I viewed it on YouTube I could see the full discussion. Fair amount of info there. Much obliged.
8. OK...I'm mechanically-challenged as well as a technotard.   Dolomite said "Someone is about to be rich.'.   Looks like TMF is up to the challenge...   If...if you guys get this tweaked out and decide to market them, please keep us in mind. Even a deconstruct and how-to would be of great benefit.   Just hoping... :2cents:
9. I've run into this recently with some Winchester 9mm brass....mil crimp...range pickup brass... S&B have extremely tight pockets as well. I inspect the brass first (once I figured out the issue) and do a light ream with a handtool I keep on the bench and they work great after a couple of turns. PIA though isn't it?
10. Dolomite;   I am having the exact same sight issues with my M92.   If you find the time, would you please post a few more details about how you altered the detent on the rear sight? I'm a very visual learner, so if you have any pics during the process that be immensely helpful.   I too opened my rear sight and it helped. But with my aging eyesight I still find the rear site, while using the shoulder brace, too close for my liking. A peep sight would definitely prove an upgrade.   Nice work Dolomite and thanks for sharing the info.
11. Yes, I've seen it with Blazer, Win White box, and Remington over the years. It's an inevitability with the volume they produce. Actually, as rare as it is, the mass production QC is pretty darn good imho.
12. Thanks. I entered using your link. Good luck to us. :pleased:
13.     This has been bantered about gun magazines and the internet for some time now.   It's an informed choice on my part as far as carrying my handloads. A justifiable use of force is a justifiable use of force...you'll probably have to hassle a lawsuit no matter what.   I am unaware of anyone actually being convicted of a wrongful death, murder, or manslaughter based on ammunition choice or for using handloads in self defense. . Of course I wouldn't consider carrying a factory round emblazoned with a skull and crossbones on the  box and labeled as DRT (Dead Right There) either.
14.   I carry 124 grs for 9mm. Although I do like the recoil impulse of the 147 gr loads.
15. I do a mix. I carry factory loads in my 9mm Glocks...but have some premium components stored back for their replacement. When I purchased my 9mm carry ammo several years back it was markedly less expensive than it is now days.   I carry plated full wadcutters with a sharp ogive in my J frame .38's. They are peppy, but easily controllable and quite accurate.
16. Thanks for posting this info.   I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the LDS Storehouse here in Knoxville. Great folks and very helpful.   If you folks are in the area of this Open House I can assure you that you will be glad you attended. It can prove to be a valuable learning experience and you will be hard pressed to beat the prices.   Another option is the LDS online service. I have several of the Home Starter Kits stuck back. I'd rather feed a few of my neighbors in a time of disaster than be forced to shoot them. :squint:     LDS Home Starter Kit
17. AAR A.I.M. 3 Aug 2014     All I can say is Wow! Incredible class and an unbelievable bargain.   Thank you Randy and Thank you GTG for hosting this class.   Thank you also to my fellow students. Great bunch of folks and I feel honored to have been able to train with you guys and gals.   As always I respect and appreciate Randy’s teaching methodology, keen eye, and patience as he guides us through the learning curve. It’s an innate talent as well as a skill. Randy’s depth of subject knowledge content is impressive. We are fortunate to have that resource available to us here on TGO.   I have been learning XS Big Dot sights over the past year. That, in itself, has presented a learning curve for me. But I earned an even greater appreciation for them, and with Randy’s tutelage, a greater appreciation of their use in close range reaction shooting yesterday. But using the methodology and format Randy presented would improve any type of sight system use in managing close range interpersonal confrontations.   Randy’s was able to convey several approaches to the adage of “use the amount of the sights necessary” to get your hits fast and accurately at the appropriate range and in the appropriate situation. I had never been exposed to the “diamond” concept, using the edge of the slide when the gun was tilted at an approximate 45 degree angle while moving rapidly off the “X”. Excellent information and tool for my “tactical toolbox”.   We had a very good turnout. The students ranged from highly seasoned shooters with multiple training classes under their gunblets to novice shooters. All students were given the individual attention they needed while maintaining a smooth flow for the group…not easy for a group this size. And safety was, as always, beyond reproach.   It’s incredible that this quality level of training with the depth and attention to detail was presented to us for only $80.00. I have paid 3 times that, way more than once, and not received the excellence of instruction approaching what Randy provided for us. My hat is off to you Sir.       fwi... great and informative read: LINK:  Dealing With PESTS
18. LOL. Thank you Jeremy. I can now finally audition for America's Funniest Home Videos. :pleased:   I appreciate it and of course would be interested in seeing it. Good learning tool in all honesty.   Enjoyed shooting with you again Sir.
19. I'll be at the Suraez Training event that Randy is putting on today, so I just wanted to take a few minutes and say Thanks to all for an excellent match yesterday.   Of note John Suter, Daniel, all the SO's and "Range Mom's" (strange conceptual title imho) and all those involved behind the scene. Also thanks to the sponsors for the prize table. Awesome to see a young lady  junior...via her father...win a handgun in the drawing.   And also a Thanks to Rickey for a fast and darn nifty popup target he let the match use. Good job, and of course Congrats Rickey.   Until next year. :hat:     edit...spelling...
20. Thanks Sidewinder      I just ordered 1 K of the 55 gr .223. Free shipping with first order? Hard to beat that.
21. Thank you Erik. No worries good Sir.
22. My plate is full until the first of the week. But I'll start drafting Campfield an e-mail. Can't hurt and it might at least get us rolling in the right direction.
23.     I'm good with that Daniel. I never have been much on strategic planning anyway.  :pleased:
24.   I'm pleased to see a Tennessee made firearm and do look forward to hear someone's first hand experience with them. And of course wish the great success.   I wasn't dissing their product in my earlier posts and hope I didn't come across so.
