  1. Welcome Ron...to TGO and to TN. :pleased:
  2. I didn't even know I needed a snipper rifle...but if it'll give me karate kids skills...then maybe... :squint:
  3.     Good move Dol.     Well hipower got me to listening to some Brian Setzer on Youtube....   tangentially I went to Cherry Poppin' Daddies... :ugh:                     "Zoot Suit Riot" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IqH3uliwJY
  4. I've shot it before and use it for training/practice ammo. It's not well buffered and not so great at holding a tight pattern. But I'm OK with that for practice ammo.   iirc I bought mine at Walmart some time back, but I don't recall the pricing.
  5. I was just trimming some 5.56 brass and listening to some AIC.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAqZb52sgpU
  6. Probably not going the way they planned it...     Voted! Thanks. :pleased:
  7. You will be in our thoughts and Prayers Doug.   You're a fighter, so no doubt you'll "whoop" this whole situation.   Please keep us posted as you are able.   God Bless.
  8. That's flippin' awesome Brasil!   I'm still saving my pennies and watching for a "deal" on one brother.   6 years...Nice!
  9. We are Kroger shoppers as well and will continue to support them as long as they support our rights.   Kroger is very competitive pricing wise as well, and their "loss leader" deals are excellent. We picked up 2 spiral cut honey hams today for $1.99/lb...about 1/2 Walmart's price. Win/Win! :pleased:
  10. Whew. I'm gonna have to differ with the opinion on pelvic shots, intentionally targeting the pelvis in hopes of incapacitating the aggressor...   I have had many, many patients with fractured pelvic injuries, sometimes broken in several areas, both young and old, that could still stand, and walk. It was painful, but not incapacitating for them.   A rifle round may cause significant pelvic damage...but that's just a maybe. The aggressor may in fact die..but our goal is, should be, to stop the aggressive action quickly.   Please take a look at the below, from Dr. Gary Roberts, a reliable source, imho.   I don't have a dog in this fight as they say, but I also believe that center of mass, torso type hits, are preferable. The occular window for a head shot is tough, and may well be more luck than skill in a lethal confrontation..again, just an unsolicited opinion...     http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2008Intl/Roberts.pdf     "Shots to the Pelvis
  11. Congratulations guys! Awesome! She's beautiful.
  12.     And this was my original point. It is a bad law.   As gun owners, and I assume for the most part "Gun Carriers", we perceive the need to be armed. I know we have frequently discussed "Gun Free Zones" as being primary targets of those with felonious intent. I don't know the "politics", if any, behind this particular case. But a permit holder should be able to carry into many more places than the current laws allow. Anyone ever read Guiduck's "Terror at Beslan"? Newtown was that long ago either.   I definitely agree posting how and when you carry on Social Media is simply begging for problems.Stupid is as stupid does... But we still need to work at bringing the current laws into a more realistic realm.   :2cents:
  13. I read the article but don't know anything else about this particular case.   What I do know is that this is a law that should be changed. There is no reason that TN couldn't either enact an "Enhanced Permit System" like MS does, or do away with this restriction for a valid permit holder altogether.
  14. Well. I received an e-mail "newsletter" from them overnight with the discount code FOEO for 25% off any order. It should be good through the day. No minimum (I know because I played around with it some). The batteries cost me about $.80 each, so I can't complain. :pleased:     Thanks again snake
  15. LOL. Just my luck.   I did sign up for their newsletter...so maybe next time.
  16. No Erik...It is hard...Heck, I still marvel at fire!   Post a link or send me a PM if you run across a sale like you mentioned. This is a big step for me my friend. :pleased:
  17. Thank you hipower. Very well said. I heartily concur Sir. This is a place I am proud to call home, I am Blessed to have the members here as an extended family.     May God Bless you hipower, and God Bless all here at TGO.  Merry Christmas folks.
  18. Thanks hipower.   I'm with you. I really need to handle one first to be able to make a decision.   Most of the folks I work with are younger, much younger, than I am...I'll ask around at work,,,but those kids always seem to be pecking away on their phones while on break. Maybe I should try texting them. :ugh:
  19. snake...is there a coupon code for these?   When I went to the check out the 10 batteries, they wanted to charge me $1.19 each or $11.90 plus the $3.10 shipping...   Appreciate the assist.
  20.     That's a great price snake!      Thanks for posting that. It's hard to let that slide by.
  21. OK...I don't mean to jack the thread, but you got me looking at these things guys. I am a professed technotard! But the "Paper White" seems to have some good features.   I have never used an E-Reader before. Can you adjust the font size? I usually read before bedtime and at my age after a 12-14 hour shift, my bifocaled eyes tire way too easily...   The Paper White seems to be advertised as very similar to an actual book...but they are $119.00.   What are your thoughts on an older used version? Waste of time/money? Viable option?   I have shelves, and boxes, of books. But I believe I see the value in an E-reader...at least I think I do. LOL   I have never even handled a tablet...   Man...this 21st century stuff is challenging...
  22. I'm sorry for your loss. May God Bless you all.
  23. Erik and hipower....I guess it would be best. Certainly more affordable...it's denting my shooting budget too buddy! :pleased:   I'll have to look into it...and soon too. LOL
  24. hipower;   I agree Sir. "One Second After" is definitely a must read book. I purchased an additional copy expressly for the purpose as a loaner...I new I'd never see it again otherwise LOL.       Thank you Erik! I enjoyed the 1st  two books and will order book 3 tonight.   Link for us non-kindle folks.: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Stand-Warlords-William-Weber/dp/1926456025/ref=la_B00JZZ8BLG_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1417913546&sr=1-3
  25. I just finished "Day of Wrath" by William Forstchen...same guy that wrote "One Second After". It's somewhat an extrapolation of "Terror at Beslan" by Giduck...a "must-read" imho...   "Terror at Beslan" link: http://www.amazon.com/Terror-Beslan-Russian-Tragedy-Americas/dp/0976775301 "Day of Wrath" link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_12?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=day+of+wrath&sprefix=day+of+wrath%2Caps%2C307   "One Second After" link: http://www.amazon.com/One-Second-After-William-Forstchen/dp/0765327252/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=1-1&qid=1417859374   It's well worth the couple of hours to read (188 pages) and should be something to consider in regards to your training and preparations.
