  1. I picked up a few 10 packs of these from SGAmmo. They run $79.50/10 pak. With shipping they are about $9.00 each.   I prefer ribbed steel AK mags myself and I am more than impressed with these. While I certainly like my Circle 10....which are simply overpriced these days, and I've had good luck with Tapco for casual range use, it's just hard to beat Eastern European AK mags at this price...Best price I've seen for several years in fact.     Just thought you folks might be in the market.     http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/10-pack-30-round-ak-47-mag-used-condition-varies-good-excellent-eastern-european-mil
  2.     Well...BATFE may not have a letter on that....but I bet my wife would! :ugh:
  3. Yeah Brother. They got a definite workout. :pleased:   That's actually not bad for that price point and I think it was more like 12K total...not bad at all.
  4.   What are you doing typing brother? We need more boolits!           Those original handles had to have made it through at least 10K rounds of hard work Brasil (I've actually lost count...)  ...and I do appreciate it my friend. :pleased:
  5. LOL. My physical manual is a Hornady from 1987.   I went to the Hodgdon data online for Min & Max data:  https://www.hodgdon.com/basic-manual-inquiry.html   That's where I looked up the 7.62x39 btw.   I'm really just seeking personal preference loads or an quirks folks may have encountered. It's my first go with this particular powder. I've used IMR 3031 (excellent results but a PIA as it's extruded), AA 2230, and Win 748...I've had AA 2230 on backorder for more than a friggin' year now...such is the current nature of the component situation.   But I have no doubt TGOer's have experience with H335...good, bad, and indifferent. But I appreciate learning what I can from the members here.   And Yes, I know, I should purchase a newer physical manual... :ugh:
  6. Damn good points Gordon.   We are at times our own worst enemies. I believe we have "gun owners" and members of the "Gun Culture" (which would be us..."Gun Culture" in the John Ross sense of the phrase). It is unfortunately rampant, not only on the interweb, but even at local ranges...it is disheartening.   I have followed this thread closely and appreciate the solid discussion and exchanges of points of view. I too picked up an SB 47 and AK pistol and assembled for my "Truck gun". It's an excellent setup.   It's frustrating to see so many, like the vid above, that profess to be a member of that "Culture", doing more to harm our cause than help it.   I personally had not considered writing a favorable letter to BATFE, but certainly see merit in your thoughts.   I have hopes that the NFA Freedom Alliance will have a positive impact in this arena. I hope...
  7. Powder has been a challenge to come by! Understatement I know...   I have finally located some H 335. I did search here and found some interesting info on heavier weight bullets.   I will be loading 55 gr bullets and will be chronographing my work. My 1995 version Bushy twist rate is 1:9, 16" barrel.   Do any of you guys have any "pet loads"?     An aside...during my search here on TGO I also found reference to using H335 for 7.62x39. I had never considered this powder for the x39. But low and behold it's listed in the Hogdon Load Data Center.   Have you guys tried any H 335 for 7.62x39? ...125 gr bullets are what I have on hand.     I unfortunately (or fortunately I guess since I do have a job  ) work most weekends, so I haven't yet had the opportunity to meet Mr.David at the local gun shows to be able to pick up components from him...One day...       Appreciate your thoughts in advance folks. :hat:
  8. AA#2 is another option for .38. A little goes a long way for .38   But Unique-Bullseye-and W231 are hard to beat.   I've probably burned more Unique than any other powder. Great stuff for many different handgun rounds.
  9. Welcome aboard and a soon to be in TN welcome as well.   I'm an RN and several of my shooting buds work EMS & Fire.   I'm in East TN but you'll find great folks all over this state.
  10. Welcome Ron...to TGO and to TN. :pleased:
  11. I didn't even know I needed a snipper rifle...but if it'll give me karate kids skills...then maybe... :squint:
  12.     Good move Dol.     Well hipower got me to listening to some Brian Setzer on Youtube....   tangentially I went to Cherry Poppin' Daddies... :ugh:                     "Zoot Suit Riot" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IqH3uliwJY
  13. I've shot it before and use it for training/practice ammo. It's not well buffered and not so great at holding a tight pattern. But I'm OK with that for practice ammo.   iirc I bought mine at Walmart some time back, but I don't recall the pricing.
  14. I was just trimming some 5.56 brass and listening to some AIC.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAqZb52sgpU
  15. Probably not going the way they planned it...     Voted! Thanks. :pleased:
  16. You will be in our thoughts and Prayers Doug.   You're a fighter, so no doubt you'll "whoop" this whole situation.   Please keep us posted as you are able.   God Bless.
  17. That's flippin' awesome Brasil!   I'm still saving my pennies and watching for a "deal" on one brother.   6 years...Nice!
  18. We are Kroger shoppers as well and will continue to support them as long as they support our rights.   Kroger is very competitive pricing wise as well, and their "loss leader" deals are excellent. We picked up 2 spiral cut honey hams today for $1.99/lb...about 1/2 Walmart's price. Win/Win! :pleased:
  19. Whew. I'm gonna have to differ with the opinion on pelvic shots, intentionally targeting the pelvis in hopes of incapacitating the aggressor...   I have had many, many patients with fractured pelvic injuries, sometimes broken in several areas, both young and old, that could still stand, and walk. It was painful, but not incapacitating for them.   A rifle round may cause significant pelvic damage...but that's just a maybe. The aggressor may in fact die..but our goal is, should be, to stop the aggressive action quickly.   Please take a look at the below, from Dr. Gary Roberts, a reliable source, imho.   I don't have a dog in this fight as they say, but I also believe that center of mass, torso type hits, are preferable. The occular window for a head shot is tough, and may well be more luck than skill in a lethal confrontation..again, just an unsolicited opinion...     http://www.dtic.mil/ndia/2008Intl/Roberts.pdf     "Shots to the Pelvis
  20. Congratulations guys! Awesome! She's beautiful.
  21.     And this was my original point. It is a bad law.   As gun owners, and I assume for the most part "Gun Carriers", we perceive the need to be armed. I know we have frequently discussed "Gun Free Zones" as being primary targets of those with felonious intent. I don't know the "politics", if any, behind this particular case. But a permit holder should be able to carry into many more places than the current laws allow. Anyone ever read Guiduck's "Terror at Beslan"? Newtown was that long ago either.   I definitely agree posting how and when you carry on Social Media is simply begging for problems.Stupid is as stupid does... But we still need to work at bringing the current laws into a more realistic realm.   :2cents:
  22. I read the article but don't know anything else about this particular case.   What I do know is that this is a law that should be changed. There is no reason that TN couldn't either enact an "Enhanced Permit System" like MS does, or do away with this restriction for a valid permit holder altogether.
  23. Well. I received an e-mail "newsletter" from them overnight with the discount code FOEO for 25% off any order. It should be good through the day. No minimum (I know because I played around with it some). The batteries cost me about $.80 each, so I can't complain. :pleased:     Thanks again snake
  24. LOL. Just my luck.   I did sign up for their newsletter...so maybe next time.
  25. No Erik...It is hard...Heck, I still marvel at fire!   Post a link or send me a PM if you run across a sale like you mentioned. This is a big step for me my friend. :pleased:
