  1.     You know...that's kinda what I envisioned. :dropjaw:
  2. Great setup!   btw...How do you carry the Range 37?   Just curious... :nervous:
  3. Congrats on raising a great kid and on being a great parent. Kinda goes hand in hand imho.. :pleased:   Happy Birthday to your son.
  4. Another vote for SGAmmo and Sportsman's Guide. Consistently competitive pricing, fast shipping, and quality customer service.
  5. Thank you for posting this ehull. And Good on you and the missus for taking the class!   A solid foundation is essential and something most of us would find of great benefit, as a new shooter or for an experienced shooter to revisit from time to time.   You make a good point in that professional training does give us foundational skills that we must then work to develop and ingrain.   Thanks again.
  6. They are fine good quality primers. I too like Federal, but Winchester is a close second.   That said, we've used quite a few Tula and Wolf (many thousands) without any problems   ...except the friggin' lead free Tulas...I hate lead free primers! LOL...I was shooting some of the LF primer loads today...excellent for malfunction practice. :wall:
  7. Very good post tacops.   I especially appreciate your recommendation for professional training. Far too many folks view their firearm as a talisman and/or think because they've played Call of Duty or watched shootouts on TV that they are GTG. Reality vs Fantasy/Unreality...   We are blessed here in TN to have quite a few quality training venues available to us...like our own Randy Harris aka CruelHandLuke as well as many other nationally recognized trainers being hosted in our state. Professional quality training is probably the most important investment we could choose to make.   Thanks for taking the time to post this.
  8. That's pretty much the going price for benchrest primers Dolo.   iirc the CCI benchrest at Proneshooter's run $55.00 or so. But they have Tula small rifle at about $27.00/1000...Tula work fine for my needs, but I'm just making "shooting ammo" most of the time. I have some benchrest primers set aside for development of truly accurate loads should the need arise.
  9. Dang! That's impressive.
  10.     Good folks at ProneShooter's. Beats the heck out of hazmat as well.   http://www.proneshooter.com/catalog.php?category=107673
  11. Thanks Mark.   I didn't realize volume 7 had been released yet. Just ordered it.   I gave the previous books in the series to another TGO'er... the info and entertainment is too good not to share.   Link in case anyone is interested: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0996696016?qid=1457022751&ref_=nav_signin&s=books&sr=1-1
  12. I own a 26 and a 9mm Shield.   TNWNGR and monkeylizard pretty much summed up my thoughts on this.   I carry AIWB and I'm wearing my Shield as I type this.   I also carry my G19 AIWB, most of the time actually, and find that the longer barrel length of the 19 vs the 26 allows a more secure and stable carry in my chosen method. As I'm sure most of you know, the length of the barrel isn't difficult to conceal and with IWB carry the longer barrel will actually help stabilize the carry through better leverage at it's pivot point, the belt/holster.   I find the 26 easier to control in rapid fire than the shield...but that's kind of subjective as I have thousands of more rounds down the 26 than I do the Shield, as this point.   Being able to use my spare G 17 mags is also a big plus for the 26. I did carry the 26 as a backup, off side OWB holster, for several years and it served that role well. In my current environment and life I don't find the need as great and utilize other options.   :2cents:
  13. I haven't seen this one posted yet.   "Sound of Silence" Disturbed     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4
  14. Good God. I miss America.   Where the hell did it go?   I remember watching (on TV) the "compound" burn like it was yesterday. I don't recall anything "heroic" about it.
  15. This is a case of two counts of cruel...                                                                         :drama: :drama:
  16. Great review and info Comms.      If my 550 would ever wear out, the 650 would be it's replacement.   Darn Dillon quality and customer service...26+ years and I'm still waiting... :squint:   +1 to BigK's bullet point #3...a light is a must have imho.
  17. I'm not sure how much you can actually save handloading these.   I handload a lot of handgun rounds and a fair amount of rifle rounds. The greatest savings for me is that we cast our handgun bullets and bulk purchase the rifle bullets.   I purchased a shotgun loading set up several years ago, but due to being able to purchase shells as inexpensively as I can, which is less of a cost than purchasing the components at the time, I never moved forward on it. It's there if I need it or start shooting a bunch of shotgun rounds...   I do realize .410 rounds/shells are pretty expensive right now, but if you plan to shoot a lot of them, it might be worth looking into purchasing the setup and learning how to load them.   Bulk/volume purchase is an option...if you can locate a supply.   Good luck with whatever your choice is.
  18. I don't intend this as a negative in any way BigK. It may well be the photograph angle, but it looks like there isn't much room for a full quick or fumble free grip on the drawstroke. (With the mag inserted into it's carrier).   Am I way off base on my viewing/angle of view?   Most of the holsters I've seen with same side mag carry have had the mag in front of the handgun. Obviously for the concept you presented that would be a no-go.   Nice looking holster molding btw.
  19.   Thanks. I just used the code on a box of ammo I wanted to try...worked great! :pleased:
  20.   Just to throw in my unsolicited 2 cents worth...   One of our group was looking to purchase a slimmed down 9mm, so we assembled an XDs, my Shield and a G43 so he could try them out. He shot them all well...but ultimately choose the G43. Quite subjectively, he simply liked the "feel" of the 43 better.Mind you, that particular 43 did have Taran Tactical mag extensions on it.   I shot that particular 43 a few times and it is nice. I personally prefer the trigger on my Shield. But all three were quite easy to run, and run accurately.   No one says you can't have both hipower. :pleased:
  21. The pics are incredible, as is the work you are doing and the love you show these little guys (& gals).   I've had the honor of swapping a few e-mails with MrsMonkeyMan and believe me folks, this lady is incredible!   My appreciation and admiration go out to you and MrMonkey!
  22. God Bless him and Prayers out for his family.   We are in for trouble unfortunately...
  23. Did I miss something?   ETA...never mind...saw it in the classifieds.  Good luck with your search.
  24. +1 to Sidecarist.   Todd Green and pistol-forum have some great ideas and suggestions for various drills and practice sessions.   My personal favorite is simply a gunhandling drill and I find it pretty challenging myself.   It's the F.A.S.T. Test. Give it a try and let us know what you think.   http://pistol-training.com/fastest   Gabe White aka "Origami AK" makes it look easy...he ain't normal... :dropjaw:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN_t6wol4_M
  25. OOPS...I obviously type too slow.   :dropjaw:
