  1. Dalton, Chuck Norris, and Dolomite all in one thread? Damn Straight!
  2. I appreciate you posting that portion of the blog post. I subscribe to Western Rifle and to Mountainguerrilla. Mosby's posts always make me think and I tend to agree more than I disagree with him. I didn't find this post, nor his previous work, particularly anti-LEO. His perspective, as all of ours, stem from life experiences. I too think courage is largely a matter of choice and hopefully we will temper ourselves toward that goal.
  3. Thanks for the review and the link @peejman. I've not heard of them before. They seem to be affordable and since they are local that's a win in my book.
  4. Thank you hipower! That'd be awesome. Working this weekend...didn't want @monkeylizard to think something was up!
  5. Miamigard? No Sir. I certainly wouldn't mind reading it.
  6. Awesome brother! Let me know and maybe we can work a swap.
  7. Darn interwebs...a search for "J.D.Moles" yielded "An Automated Assay for Glycogen Phosphorylase"! Thankfully Amazon helped me and these are now on my list. The Five Fingers is a pricey book. At least on Amazon. This one was written in '79, correct @martin5?
  8. LOL. I promise if I see anything unnerving come across from CDC and there's still net access, I'll share that info!
  9. Welcome aboard Aaron! Happy to have you Sir.
  10. @hipower I certainly have a compulsion to finish a series once I start one...it's always been that way for me LOL. "Any interest in the sword/sorcery/fantasy?" I certainly went through the phase, but in the 70's & 80's primarily.... Tolkein, Stephen R. Donaldson, Ann Mccaffrey, and such. Then I discovered Jerry Ahern and that changed everything! I'm pretty much firearms and PAW related in my tastes these days.
  11. LOL. After having had a pet rabbit for several years they are now safe from being a protein source according to the missus! The pile of rocks in the top right hand corner of the picture is Bunnyhenge where our once pet rabbit now rests. So if I choose to stay married, and I do, the rabbits are allowed to roam free and I just work around them.
  12. These are good points chances R. I'm reminded of a book I read a long time ago, around '71-'2 iirc by Alvin Toffler called "Future Shock". He postulated that people were having psychological adaptation breakdown because of the rapidity of the change societies were undergoing..and this was way the heck before the rise of computers, social media and the internet. As much as we as human beings like to think we are more than we are, we can only process, internalize, and incorporate only so much change before reaching our limits. Toffler popularized the term "information overload". If only he knew what was coming. Big Pharma and The Health Care conglomerates capitalize on this. There's no money in the "cure".
  13. I think that'll be the time when we all "go dark"! LOL
  14. @hipower Thanks again for the suggestion. I'm reading book #1 now and just ordered the next 2 in the series. It's an interesting (to me) topic as I helped our facility set up our "Ebola Cart" a few years back...that's some seriously scary s**t! I receive daily CDC updates, part of the job. But it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on what's going on in the world... but nothing to date about a zombie mutant virus!
  15. I find it handy to have a few cases of MRE's around. Post Katrina they allowed me a few days to cut trees off my house and square away other priority tasks before concentrating on cooking. MRE's are a far cry better than the C-Rats we had when I served. MRE's are gourmet food by comparison. While it's been a number of years since I've used the below linked site, I had positive experiences with MRE Depot, and they are a decent information source. But darn...those things have gone up in price! https://www.mredepot.com/default.asp https://www.mredepot.com/MRE-Menu-C-p/mc1213.htm I keep some of those Mainstay SOS or Lifeboat rations in my GHB. They serve a niche purpose, not something I'd want to eat daily. But they are a compact and lightweight calorie source. Water and freeze dried food. Well, a person needs a way to purify water anyway. We have a Berkey in home and I have a Berkey Sport and a Life Straw in my GHB. I've eaten the Mountain House straight out of the bag, not tasty and darn salty, but tolerable.
  16. Good shoot! Like peejman said, the officer obviously knows his weapon and it's capabilities and patterning.
  17. Outstanding gentlemen! Excellent program and the quality of both content and production was top notch! More please.
  18. I posted this on SN a few minutes ago. I downloaded the podcast from the original link presented this morning and listened to it. Simply outstanding gentlemen! Everyone of you should be commended, but especially TGO David. It's hard to believe this is an inaugural podcast! It was incredibly well executed, edited, and presented. The content, opinions and experiences were educational and beneficial. Well done folks! Can't wait for the next one. Jamie
  19. Maybe not yet, but all in time. These things are cyclical in nature and have reoccurred many times in my life. I think, as was mentioned in another thread, most of us have learned from past experiences.I certainly hope so. But another "panic buying" period is inevitable.
  20. Thanks for all of the suggestions folks. I'm watching for the UPS (Amazon) delivery truck as I type this.
  21. Thank you Martin. I'll check it out.
  22. Thank you! I just ordered book 1 of the series.
  23. Me as well. I just finished the last 2 A.American books (vol 8 & 9). They're decent, and I'm invested in the series so there's that. Anybody still reading P.A.W. fiction? Any recommendations?
  24. That's excellent David. And it does take a lot of guts to put yourself out there like that. Many props to you Sir! I have no doubt that this will be a success and a benefit to those who are already members of our "Gun Culture" and those entering it. Well Done David! Jamie
  25. I'm in as well. Great idea.
