Depends on yer paws:) Lady Radtekk went from a Mustang 380 (, single stack, first carry) to the G26 to a Shield 9 to her current xDs. She prefers the single stack for hand fit, although she also likes my full size xD45 more than my e-Series 1911. Lol... If you like the G26 I'd try the double stacks in any brand first. What I know about Sig firearms is "S-I-G". Never fired or even fondled one. Probably should. But grip size and angle and a few other things are very much "Just because I like it doesn't mean you will" kinda stuff. And then there's the whole striker vs hammer and pistol vs revolver and 9mm vs 45 set of debates... Best answer? Bigger safe, more guns

Ok... I'm a Jersey boy born and raised to a Baltimore father and a Raleigh North Carolina mother. I currently live in MA with my wife who traces her family on her father's side back to 1640's Scottish immigrants. I refuse to believe chivalry and manners are dead or superfluous. I hold the door for my wife, pull out her chair, call people Sir and Ma'am, say please and thank you, and have taught my daughters to behave that way and to expect the same from their boyfriends. We can't wait to move south. I thought the video was hysterical, and I hereby promise to NOT channel that poor soul.

Well, I'm 6'4" and 280, so I figure I'm close in size. My first handgun was an xD45 purchased 12-13 years ago while doing a LOT of motorcycle riding in Arizona. Carried in an OWB CQB (I think) retention holster. Since moving to MA (10 years ago, escaping to TN in 6 months) I have purchased and carried several guns. I first carried a Kahr k40, then an S&W Chief Special 45, then an e-Series 1911, followed by my current EDC, an xD45 mod.2 which I carry at about 3 o'clock IWB in a Crossbreed SuperTuck. There was also briefly a Shield in 9mm but I didn't like it much, even though it concealed well IWB at 4 o'colck. Big fan of Crossbreeds, have several for several firearms. OP, I think you'd like the double-stack the Springfield provides, and the "Grip Zone" does allow a more confident draw. I carry mine 9+1 with multiple spares. One nice thing is that like Glock, pretty much all Springfields break down the same way and have the same controls. they're actually easier to disassemble. I have 4 between Lady Radtekk and I, and she has a G26, so I have plenty of practice with both. I don't have a problem with Glock, just found I liked Springfields and stayed with them. Also, the standard size xD45 13 round magazine fits in the Mod.2 although since it's longer it does look weird. I wouldn't carry that way, but it is nice. If I was down there I'd invite you to try them out and see, but house-hunting trip is this weekend and that's a few too many to travel with, TSA gets weird when you have a suitcase full of handguns. Just my .02 for what it's worth.

Note made:) Coming from Massachusetts (we have MANY unflattering nicknames for our state) one thing you learn fairly early on is "Never ask the police about gun laws and what's legal, they either don't know or lie, or both." So I may have a bit of training to undo. Lady Radtekk and I will be there Sunday to look at a couple of houses, I'm looking forward to breathing free air!

Little bit of necro thread resurrection... Looking hard at a property in Northern Knox County, definitely OUTSIDE city limits. Having a hard time finding the relevant law on shooting on what may well be my property. The size and configuration would make my "range" well within the borders, 300ft plus from the edge, 500ft plus from a structure including my own and I'd be shooting towards a ridge the property runs up against, I'd build a 20 foot high berm on my side of the property line so unless I decided to shoot at planes there's no way I'd loft a round too high. So, can I?

Appreciate all the info to date:) We are making a trip down in 10 days (3/31-4/2) to look at a property and probably put in an offer. 20+ acres, NOT in Metro-Knoxville, almost completely wooded, probably less than an acre of "not trees". I don't want to shovel, sure as #### I don't want to mow either:) The short term plan is "off the deck" shooting, slowly cut a longer swath. I'm dead nutz on at 100 yards with a few rifles, my 55 year old eyes require good glass though. My guess is I'd probably cut 50 yards the 1st year, then add 50 a year until I'm out to 300. Just so long as I can get M.O.B.H. at 100+ I'm happy:) IDGAF if somebody wants to walk, hike, or bike across my land, my ONLY issue is if I'm out shooting and somebody appears downrange just as I squeeze. So wondering what signage is appropriate. If a neighbor happens to take a deer 50 feet inside my line, so long as they don't leave a steaming pile behind all I want is a steak or two when they dress it:) As to the neighbors, if they hear gunfire, they're welcome to bring guns, pizza and soda. Beer and steaks after shooting are on me:) And by neighbors I mean pretty much anybody that appreciates the moldy old document the Founders came up with a few years back Liberals and snowflakes need not apply.

Hi! I'll add more later, but the short story is my wife and I will be moving to the Knoxville area in a few months. Curious about gun laws. We're buying property, probably 10+ acres. What are the rules/laws about a range on my property? Setback from property lines, berm height, signage, shooting hours, etc. Nothing special, no NFA stuff, handgun, AR, AK, hunting rifle, shotgun. No kids involved. Nothing really farther than 2-300 yards. These rules will impact the property I buy so kinda need to know
