  1. Due to some requests for another run of this class for 2016 we will be offering this on Sunday August 7th !!! The fighting shotgun still is the most powerful handheld weapon available for CQB . Besides....if Hillary has her way, it might be all you can legally own......so learning how to run one might be a good idea....DEFENSIVE SHOTGUN AUGUST 7, 2016 CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE PRICE: $200 INSTRUCTOR: RANDY HARRISThe shotgun is the top choice among Americans for limited role home defense. In its niche it is a devastating weapon. This one day class will teach you everything you need to know to employ this iconic American fighting tool to its best utility. CLASS AND RANGE DETAILS DURATION: 1 Day TIME: 9:00AM to 5:00PM (CENTRAL) AMMUNITION: Approximately 100 rounds of Birdshot, 50 rounds of Buckshot, 15 Slugs and 50 rounds of pistol ammunition. 2. How about this.... 1. Do you think people should be able to give away or sell their own personal property without asking the government for permission (if so you DON'T believe in universal background checks). 2. Do you believe that it is OK for the Govt to deny people their constitutional rights without due process? (If not then you DON'T believe in keeping people on the TSA no fly list from buying a gun) 3. Do you believe in the fundamental right of every man woman and child to defend themselves from unlawful violence? If you answered no you are an idiot. If you answered yes then go to 3B.... 3B. If so then do you believe that the old, infirm, physically weak should be able to efficiently and effectively defend themselves from younger bigger , stronger multiple attackers? If so then you are NOT anti gun becasue semi auto fire arms with standard capacity magazines is the best way for weaker victims to defend themselves from multiple attackers. 4. Do you believe only the govt and police should have firearms? If so you are NOT "anti gun"....you are anti freedom, and pro totalitarianism and an enabler of mass genocide. You believe that ordinary people INCLUDING YOURSELF do not have the common sense or ability to safely handle and use inanimate objects without accidentally (or maliciously) hurting others. As such only people who are employed by the state somehow are given special powers that other people do not have to somehow make them "safe" to possess these "evil" objects. The problem is historically that when only the government has them...the government ceases to be subservient to the people and you see genocide and ethnic cleansing like Cuba, Cambodia, USSR, Germany, the former Yugoslavia Etc......
  3. Hey guys and gals, just testing the waters to see if there would be interest for a Red Dot pisotl class. So who if anyone would be interested in a Red Dot class in the fall ?
  4. This one is coming up in a week and a half !!!!
  5. BACK BY OVERWHELMING DEMAND WE WILL BE OFFERING THIS CLASS AGAIN IN OCTOBER. THIS ONE FILLED UP LAST TIME SO DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO SIGN UP. THIS DATE WAS CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE IT IS AN OFF WEEKEND FOR TENNESSEE FOOTBALL FOR THOSE THAT IS IMPORTANT TO. HOPE TO SEE YOU IN CLASS. Fight At Night : Defensive Concepts for Dark Environments Date: Saturday October 22 Time: 4PM - 11PM Location: The Ridge Dayton TN. (http://www.theridgeshooting.com/) Price $180 cash or check. ($90 Deposit to hold spot / balance due night of class). Instructor: Randy Harris This rarely offered class will cover some critical skills which include shooting with and without the help of flashlights in low or no light. We will work both proactively challenging unknown potential threats and also reacting to unexpected close range attacks in low light settings. You will see just how much light you really need to accurately shoot by and how much light you actually need to ID targets. We will also cover manipulating the pistol in the dark both with and without a light in our hands. We will load , unload and clear malfunctions with and without flashlights. A fair amount of time will also be devoted to using the flashlight as a tool to help you get deselected in the "pre fight interview" , use the light as a distraction device and impact weapon, and as a bridge from less lethal to lethal force. Range Gear and requirements : Handheld flashlight (Surefire 6P, G2, Streamlight Scorpion or similar). Extra batteries. Pistol and holster designed to be worn on the belt. Two spare mags (3 total minimum) and a mag pouch. Range Safety gear (eye and ear protection) . Clothing appropriate for weather. Snacks and drinks. Ammo: Approximately 250 rounds. If you have a weapon mounted light for your pistol and want to use it for some drills then please bring it too. If your carry pistol has a light that is fine too just make sure it fits your holster. If you have a "blue gun" or airsoft gun and training knife or inert "trainer" pepper spray you want to bring feel free to do so. We will be doing some interactive exercises where students will play the role of both good guys and bad guys to get a better feel for just what each experiences when the techniques are applied in low light. If you don't see it from both sides you only know about half of what is going on. A $90 deposit will hold a spot for you in this class. Balance due at class. You are also welcome to pay in full in advance too. We are limiting it to 16 students so you might want to get your deposit in soon. To register or for more info either PM me here at TGO or email me at Cruelhandluke2000@yahoo.com. Hope to see you there! Some Bio info and some of my training resume.....http://www.suarezinternationalstore.com/instructor-randy-harris.aspx
  6. Saw a guy in Ankar's in Chattanooga a couple of months ago OCing a revolver (looked like a Colt Detective Special) stuffed in his waistband at the base of his spine...... I was waiting for it to fall down the inside of his pants leg.....
  7. A huge thanks to AJ (GotTheGoods) for providing the place and to Prag for helping facilitate the class and to everyone who attended who came out and braved the rain (which was minimal) and worked hard on skills that just are not taught many places. Hopefully this will change some preconceived notions about what a likely criminal assault might look like and what skills actually are needed to deal with them. Training with former Delta dudes in full kit doing team drills is cool but learning how to keep from getting stabbed and how to foul an assailant's draw and perform a disarm are far more useful skills for the armed citizen than doing bounding over watch or center peels. I will be offering this class again later this year so keep an eye out for the announcement.
  8. Al (ghost dog) call me at 423 8279133 !!!
  9. This whole thing is highly suspect. If it is a Glock then they are not "cocked" while at rest. The trigger being pressed is what pulls the striker rearward and the cruciform dropping out of the way then releases it allowing it to move forward. Something would have had to pull the striker (firing pin) to the rear ,disengaging the internal safeties , and compressing the striker spring, disengaging the firing pin safety (which keeps it from moving forward unless the trigger is pressed) and dropping the cruciform off the ledge, releasing the striker to make it fire. The cruciform cannot get out of the way to allow it go forward until it is pushed all the way to the rear and the firing pin safety is disengaged by rearward trigger movement. That is how they work. The trigger has to be pulled to fire it....
  10. We are at about 3 weeks to go on this one!!!

  12. You are counted in . One week to go and we have 5 spots available. There is still time to get in on this class.

  16. Chances R, Thanks for the kind words with regards to my classes. I'm glad you two were able to get to Tom's class and I'm not at all surprised that both of you passed. Having seen you both shoot (and hopefully having had a part in helping you be better shooters) I would be shocked if you didn't pass. I took Tom's instructor class back in 2006 and the Advanced instructor class when it was by invitation the first time it was offered in 2008 . That is one thing about his instructor class.... if you pass, you know you earned it because A. it isn't easy, and B. people can and do fail. I know of instructors from other schools who have shown up thinking they were awesome and ended up failing.... So congrats to you both!
  17. RIGHT AT 6 WEEKS TO GO ON THIS ONE !
  18. Correct that was not Michael Bresson.   The cheating thing was a different thing all together that was in USPSA and the guy's name is Paul Hendrix...here is a story about that.....http://www.gunnuts.net/2014/06/18/range-officer-cheating-scandal-in-united-states-practical-shooting-association/
  19. Get ready for the blast wave and fallout.........
  20. Reminder! This one is now just 4 weeks out... Sunday June 5 . We still have 6 spot available.   More than just another shooting class this is a class that teaches you how to deal with unknown people who approach you on the street, how to recognize the cues that it is about to get physical, gives you specific skills to deal with both empty hand and contact weapon attacks (empty hand vs empty hand, empty hand vs club, empty hand vs knife, empty hand vs gun) and then transition to accessing and using your own pistol (or knife?). Pretty much all the stuff that it helps to know in close quarters defense of your life...and the stuff that you wish your Handgun Carry Permit class had covered....
  21. Just a quick reminder for those needing to get started right, or for those looking to fill in gaps in what you already know or to simply shore up skills you need some work on. This class does all those things. It lays the foundation skills you will need, gets your mindset right and teaches you what to look for to identify criminal assault about to occur and gives you physical and verbal skills to hopefully convince the potential bad guy that you are going to be more trouble than you are worth before he makes the decision to attack. Hope to see you there!
