I generally carry either a G34 or G17 but have been spending a fair amount of time lately with a full size Sig320 . The only time I carry anything smaller than a full size pistol is if wardrobe simply will not allow a full size pistol to be carried. And since IWB carry makes barrel length irrelevant in regards to concealability, anything that I can wear a belt and an untucked shirt with allows me to carry a full size pistol. Now if I'm stuck with having to tuck in my shirt and I cannot wear a coat or vest to cover it due to weather (too hot) or "dress code" (leaving jacket or suit coat on would be out of place) then yes a pocket carried or ankle carried gun is going to need to be smaller than full size. But barring overriding wardrobe issues, a full size pistol is what I chose to carry every day. Smaller pistols are generally easier to conceal.... Just like a "Smart Car" takes up less space in your garage and gets better gas mileage than a full size car....but the Smart Car has no storage space and is not ideal for adult size humans to drive comfortably for long trips....just like a subcompact or a Jframe are often not comfortable to practice with (which leads to people carrying guns for the purpose of saving their lives that they don't ever practice with....YIKES ). A J-frame (or a subcompact auto) is easier to carry if you dress like you are going to work out at the gym or if you chose to dress in skinny jeans and tapered shirts....but they suck to fight with compared to full size pistols.... and I was always under the assumption that I was carrying a gun in case I actually had to use it...not just as a pacifier to make me feel better or as a talisman to ward off evil . As such I want the most effective and easiest to fight with gun I can carry.

Shooting issue that only happens with ccw pistol
Cruel Hand Luke replied to One1's topic in Training Discussions
We can GUESS at what it is from the video but we really need to see it live with ammo to see exactly what the hands are doing. We ideally want to apply pressure with the shooting hand front to back like gripping a pair of pliers or a multi tool. And then the support hand applies side to side pressure like a "C clamp" and once the pressure is applied it does not change. No "milking the cow" with the fingers. The only movement should be the trigger finger acting in isolation from all the others and we want the pressure on the trigger to be applied STRAIGHT BACK. But again it is easier to see exactly what is going on with your grip and trigger press in person. -

The "Beto Male" was never going to get elected anyway. He was a media fabrication and wishful thinking at best on the part of the libs. He lost to Ted Cruz after raising $80 million in campaign donations from libs all over the country. That is the most $$$ ever raised for a senate candidate and he STILL lost to a very unpopular at the time Ted Cruz. The guy is a kook who took the most far left positions he could and he would not have any hope to win a presidential general election. Maybe he can get a job with Biden's kid..... -

Remember that there is a difference between those at the top of the leftist movement and the masses of "useful idiots" at the bottom. Always has been...Lenin and Stalin were not uneducated or dumb or "victims of their feelings". George Soros (and the others pushing for a 21st century worldwide leftist "Aristocracy") is not "dumb" , he's a cold calculating snake who makes great use of those ill educated emotionally driven "useful idiots" who can't see that all the causes they are pushing for (no private ownership of guns , no personally owned vehicles, no commercial air travel , no cows, universal health care, etc) will end up being the means of controlling and enslaving them. Leftist domination of the world as a goal did not simply end with the collapse of the Soviet Union. The "communism " part is just a tool to advance an end. It did not just go away. Those ultra rich "citizen of the world aristocrats" who still want a one world government to rule over the masses are just as dangerous to individual freedom and liberty * as Stalin , Khrushchev or Lenin ever was. And the disturbing part is all the "useful idiots" in the US who would piss away all the freedom that is their birthright, that was paid for with the blood of their forefathers in order to be perpetually "safe from getting their feelings hurt " when no one can EVER truly guarantee safety of any kind. * Liberty....Funny that the leftists that now call themselves LIBERALS never use the word LIBERTY. They do not want liberality or liberty...they want control of others and to limit thought and discourse if it deviates from their beliefs. Look up the definition of liberal sometime and see how little it describes the modern American left.... -

And apparently at least someone sees the likely consequences..... https://www.foxnews.com/media/police-guns-beto-orourke-buyback-fox-friends Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke's proposal to have the police show up at gun owners' homes and enforce a mandatory assault weapons buyback is a "joke" and would put officers in harm's way, National Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Joe Gamaldi said Tuesday. Appearing on "Fox & Friends" with hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade, Gamaldi said that in a time where "everyone is asking [law enforcement] to bridge the gap with the community," O'Rourke's idea is ridiculous and "reeks of desperation." "The only thing more idiotic than Beto O'Rourke suggesting that we should go door-to-door and seize citizens' -- who are following the laws -- property, is his current presidential run," said Gamaldi, adding, "I think he's polling at two percent." "It puts our officers in a very dangerous situation where we're showing up to someone's house, we're armed, these people are -- obviously citizens -- are armed. And now you expect us to seize their guns? Give me a break!" he said exasperatedly. BETO CALLS FOR RED FLAG LAWS, MANDATORY GUN BUYBACK AND NATIONAL REGISTRY ALL IN THE SAME SPEECH Last week on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," O'Rourke said that there have to be consequences for "any law that is not followed or flagrantly abused." "I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else," he said. O'Rourke added that he's banking on the conscience of everyday Americans to understand that they don't need assault weapons for self-defense and will turn in their weapons willingly, citing Australia as a prime example of a gun buyback program. "My faith is in this country and in my fellow Americans following the law and listening to people who own AK-47s and AR-15s who acknowledge, who concede, they don’t need it for self-protection," he said. "He's doing anything that he can to get attention. So, of course, just like he did during his Senate campaign -- which he lost, by the way -- is that he's taking a shot at the hardworking men and women of law enforcement like he did during that time," Gamaldi told the "Friends" hosts. CLICK HERE FOR THE FOX NEWS APP He said that if "we want to have a real conversation about guns in this country," we should talk about "activist DAs and judges across the country" who are "letting thousands of people go with violent gun crimes." "So, if we want to have a conversation about gun violence in this country, let's talk about using the laws we have right now and throw the book at these dirtbags that are victimizing the hardworking people of our community," he concluded. Fox News' Nick Givas contributed to this report. -

Yeah I guess it’s a good thing for us that Washington and Franklin and Adams and Jefferson didn’t have anything to risk..... The point I’m making is that the sheer scale of what would have to be done if even a small percentage say “No” is not something that many people have the political will ( or stomach) for . We are not talking about trying to pacify a country the size of Iraq or Switzerland or Germany we are talking about a country the size of EUROPE . And you are right. The 97% of people may well decide that life is too easy to rock the boat and that they are happy with peaceful(?) servitude instead of dangerous liberty... It is the other 3% or even 2% or 1% that would make things much more difficult than O’Rourke thinks it would be. And lastly, this is not at all something anyone in heir right mind is hoping for. In fact it would be a truly worst case scenario for A LOT of people on both sides. But if we were ever going to see something that might light the match that causes the whole powder keg to go up something like this might be the catalyst. And that is why I pray that cooler heads prevail and they give up this idea. -

Cruel Hand Luke replied to bubbadavis's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It took the full force of the US military and a coalition of nations 10 years to put down an insurgency in Iraq which is a country the size of Texas...and they still were not completely successful. There are an estimated 100 MILLION gun owners in the US. If just 3% of them say "Hell No" then this country ceases to exist as it now stands. And the number may well be low because people often lie to pollsters about gun ownership. THINK about that. Think about what it would take to bring a 3 million person guerrilla force under control if the simply do not want to be controlled? Think about what it means if just a tiny militant fringe of that 3% decides that taking the head off the snake (or the heads off the Hydra) is the right thing to do...... And since this "Army" does not wear uniforms and is not "connected" by structure it will give whole new meaning to "sleeper cells". Just a hard core 1% of the 3% would be 30,000 "fanatics". We didn't kill that many insurgents in Iraq between 2003 and 2011.... I hate to sound like an alarmist but whichever way the next election goes half the country will feel they have been disenfranchised. If the liberal/ socialist /communist side wins and tries to implement (force feed) the same failed policies that made the 20th century genocides possible then you will likely see a percentage of people who feel their leaders not only do not respect them but are declaring war on them cease to accept that government as legitimate. What happens when those people declare war back and have a very different rules of engagement than what we are used to seeing? Beto and the others really need to re think this.... what they think they want is not what they will get. There is a reason Lincoln did not want to "punish" the South because he knew the country would be looking at a 100 year guerrilla war as best case scenario. -

Rifle inscription used against officer in court
Cruel Hand Luke replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They made the argument that when Shaver reached behind him they thought he might be reaching for a gun. He was most likely just pulling up his pants which were falling down from crawling towards them.... This (in my opinion) was an avalanche of one poor decision after another where a drunk dude is pointing a pellet gun out the window of a hotel room (never a good idea) , the cops then give drunk guy conflicting commands (and you wonder why he is slow to comply?) , the cops are (in my opinion) afraid to go physically put the guy in handcuffs (let Brailsford be the cover man, order Shaver to lay flat with palms out and the other officer go cuff him) , and then finally Brailsford is quite possibly a trigger happy sociopath. Mas Ayoob's presentation at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference in 2018 showed the whole video and discussed why inscriptions on your carry gun might not be a great idea (if they are not there it is one less thing to have to answer in court) and why Brailsford did not get convicted because of the "reach for something" movement when Shaver tried to pull up his shorts.
