After a long, long absence (20 years) from reloading I am finally getting back into it. This may be a stupid question, but I have 7 or 8 pounds of powder that has been in storage all this time. Some of the cans are still sealed. Is this usable? If not how do I dispose of it?
Thanks

I was just wondering how many are going to the gun show in Knoxville this weekend? I went to the last one and thought the prices were high but there were a lot of people and many seemed to be buying.
I will probably go saturday morning just to look.

I was fingerprinted between christmas and new years. I don't remember the exact day. I finally called about 10 days ago and was told it would be here in 8-10 days and it was. Just talked to someone that sent theirs in the same time as me. He hasn't called and hasn't got his yet. If it's been a while I would make the call.

I actually have quite a bit of ammo, a lot more than Walmart has had lately. But I will make the required trip tomorrow.

After what seemed an eternity I got my carry permit today. It feels good to join the fraternity.

I think I want something that doesn't need electricity. Are there filters that would remove chemicals?
Glenn?

I had been thinking about storing drinking water when I just happened to look out the window and realized there are several thousand gallons sitting in the backyard. It seems that water purifiers are for removing dirt, bacteria and stuff like that. Are there purifiers that would remove the chemicals from pool water? The water is already pretty much disinfected and clear, but I am pretty sure you wouldn't want to drink it as is.

Applied and was fingerprinted the end of december. I finally called today and a very nice lady said she would get my permit in the mail today. From what I am reading It seems like calling gets it out sooner than just waiting.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I just noticed I am a junior member. It's been a long time since I was a junior anything.
Thanks bkelm18 I was thinking I should call but the papers from my carry class said you must wait three months before calling. Don't want to tick anyone off. I think I will go ahead and call tomorrow.

Hello everyone. I'm glad to find this site. I have loved handguns and shooting for many years but had gotten away from much active participation for a while. Recently renewed my interest. I have been waiting for my carry permit since late december. As far as handguns go I am pretty much a .357 fan. Currently have a Ruger Blackhawk and Desert Eagle in 357 magnum, a Thompson Center Contender in 357 maximum and my latest a S & W 686. I have had other handguns but keep coming back to my favorites.
Enough rambling, it's good to be here

Thanks Mugster,
The cans I have looked at look fine. I haven't opened the sealed cans. I think I will start with a little lighter than normal load and see what happens.
