I shot about 200 rounds through the Mosin. Here is my best target. 10 rounds at 200 yards. The 10th one was just off the paper at the top The red square is 11" x 11". I think I would do better if I could see worth a dam at 200 yards. Anyway it was a lot of fun and nice to meet Erik88 Glenn

Vaporized a grounhhog at a little over 100 yards with a Thompson_Center Contender 10" barrel in .357 Remington Maximum. I always thought that was a good shot. I will slink back into my hole now. Glenn

Ahh. That might very well be the feeding problem. It seems obvious now that you pointed it out, but then things often do:shrug: I have looked closely at the latch/ The latch itself looks like it might be ok but the place it hooks on the bottom of the magazine seems worn. I might try just bending the latch forward a tiny bit. Glenn

Notice the EPA has to sign off on it because there is a trace of oil in the discharge. WTF !!! Any method that can remove oil should be used NOW. Glenn

I finally made it out to Norris yesterday and got to shoot my Mosin for the first time. I had a couple of issues I hope someone can help me diagnose. First, the bottom of the magazine would fly open when I shot. I had to slide my left hand back and use the heel of my hand to hold it closed. Second, sometimes the next round would not rise quite far enough so that when I tried to close the bolt the round would be pushed down at the front instead of up into the chamber. I am thinking one of the magazine springs is weak. Hey, I'm not near 85 years old and I am weak. Any thoughts? (on the Mosin, not me) By the way, it was a beautiful day at Norris. After the first few minutes I had the place to my self. Glenn

I am thinking about trying to get out to Norris this weekend to try out my Mosin. I know you go to the Norris police dept, but which one? Google lists 2. one is Norris Police dept, 9 East Norris rd. The other is the City of Norris Police Dept, 9 West Circle Rd. My other question, will it be so busy I can't get in this weekend? Thanks Glenn
