I replaced the floodlights in our kitchen with cfls that look like floods. They suck. They don't give near as much light and take at least a couple of minutes to warm up. Glenn

When I got my M in the early 70's I was told if I rode to the test I would get a ticket, so I asked a friend that was a motorcycle cop if he would deliver it for me. He said sure, but I don't have a M license. Nobody ever asked him to show his license. Glenn

Before you put the axles on the car, chuck the point in a drill, take a small file and get the flash off the back of the head. I like to shape them so there is minimal surface touching the wheel. then take progessivly finer sand paper and polish the axles. You don't want to take off much metal you just want them very, very smooth and shiny. Then mount at a slight angle so that the wheels ride on the inside edge which also keeps them from rubbing against the body. Lubricate with graphite. I liked to put the weights as far back as possible to keep most of the weight on the 2 back wheels. My boys and I built some pretty fast cars. Glenn

Unfortunatly I have spent quite a bit of time at UT hospital in the past week. I looked carefully around the front entrance and two other entrances and it is not posted. I didn't carry the first couple of times I went since I just assumed it would be posted. Glenn

Even if they passed such an amendment, do you think they could really make the changes needed to balance the budget? A lot of the spending is "off the books". It will take very painful cuts to even begin to get our budget mess in line. Think 40% across the board. Congress doesn't have the stomach for it. Glenn

I went to the City Council meetings when they were debating whether to opt out of the guns in parks law. they decided to keep the old law instead. I thought this was close to a victory for gun owners since it is a maximum $50 fine. By keeping the old law, they satisfied the sheep who were predicting the end of humanity if someone took a legal gun to a park and made it a pretty lite punishment if you accidently forgot to disarm before entering a park and somehow got caught (not likely if concealed).
