Gunshot Heard Around the Gun Show
Glenn replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I can't imagine pulling the trigger on a gun while pointed at myself or someone else I didn't intend to shoot. I don't care how many time it had been cleared. Glenn -
They must need a bigger sign. The robber must not have seen the one they have. Glenn

Chocolate, Cookie Dough and Oreos What could go Wrong ?
Glenn replied to JG55's topic in General Chat
Too rich? I don't think that is possible I guess that is why I have had a weight problem for a good portion of my life. -
I have been using cpap about 12 years. I could never get a mask that would seal at the bridge of my nose,so switched to nasel pillows. Much better. I found that i can buy the equipment online at cpap.com for less than my copay at a local supplier. I had a similar experience as McAllyn. The tech woke me up and mede me breath oxygen. He said if my O2 level got that low while I was in the hospital they would have taken me to intensive care. I don't sleep without my machine unless the power is out. Glenn

I'm thinking the first state to secede from the United Socialist States of Obamaland is going to have a huge influx of hard working freedom loving people. I am going to charter a bus. Glenn -
The only problem is if you get robbed they will take your computer. Glenn

I heard a story on the radio last night that Washington has an animal protection law that includes some species of rats. Since anything that kills rats is not species specific, it is against the law to kill rats in Washington. The rats have to be live trapped and let go somewhere safe. The occupy camp is overrun with rats due to piles of rotting trash and feces. Protected rats. Yep, sounds like congress to me. Glenn

The knoxville store is called an outlet. They have several models that are less than that. If you have a way to haul and install it yourself, you can save a couple of hundred also. The door swing is limited by where I have the safe anyway, so that wasn't an issue for me. I believe Champion makes some with external hinges. Glenn

I have had meniscus repairs on both knees. I think a big factor in how well you recover is what condition the knee is otherwise My left knee several years ago went real well. My right just last year no so good. The cartilage is almost completely worn out. There was only so much the Dr could do. I had the second surgery with only a local anesthetic. Really interesting to watch and the Dr showed me exactly what was wrong with my knee. Bone on bone. Glenn

What gun did you use to take your carry permit class?
Glenn replied to blizzard's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I used a Ruger blackhawk .357. After about 25 shots the ejector rod housing flew off. I finished with my 357 Desert Eagle. Glenn -
Based on things he has said in debates and his history, it doesn't seem to me that RP understands and/or doesn't believe that the interests of the United States extends beyond its borders and that those interests sometimes necessitates that we extend our political, financial and military might to protect those interests. This Robert said it well When it comes to the general election I will vote for anyone except the Obamanation. Glenn

Saw the Judge on the Daley show tonight. He made a great point. There is only one political party with a democratic wing and a republican wing. They have different ways to get there but ultimately we end up in the same place. A gigantic government that controls every aspect of our lives. He says Ron Paul is the only hope for the country. I have been on the fence about R.P. I really disagree with some of his foreign policy statements, but if we don't save this country, there will be no need for foreign policy. Go Ron Paul. Glenn

Turn In Your Neighbor for Illegal Gun
Glenn replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
HvyMtl, I guess I have to eat a little crow on this one. I have read several peoples writings that stated that treaties could override the Constitution and just took it as the truth. You inspired me to do some research and you are absolutely correct. A treaty can not override the Constitution. Thanks for straightening me out. You probably saved me from embarrassing myself even worse. The constitution can not be overriden by a treaty, law, or executive order. Now we just need to force the President and Congress to understand and abide by this fact. Glenn -
I don't think the Gov. would have to use force for most people. Just make the punishment for not turning in your guns big enough, and most people will give in. I don't think too many people would risk 20 years in jail to try to keep their guns. Some might bury their guns in the back yard or their guns got stolen, like mine, but you still don't have them if you need them if they are buried. It's also easy to say, but how many people are really willing to shoot it out with Federal law enforcement. You aren't going to win and the Gov will just lie about it a say you were a terrorist. Hell they already say that about us. Well, this kind of stuff will probably never happen. Taking away our guns would be as stupid as trying to take away our alcohol. Glenn

I need to preface this post by saying I am not encouraging anyone to do anything illegal. I have just been wondering what would really happen in a real political nightmare. You read it here a lot and other places too. "They can have my gun when they pry it from by cold dead hand" Strictly hypothetically, if we woke up tomorrow and Obama had suspended the Constitution, declared himself supreme leader and ordered all private guns seized under penelty of life in prison, how many people do you think would resist? I feel sure that some of the military, the national guard and many local LE would not go along, but if he had a convincing story about terrorists or other imminent threat, some would. But what about the average joe. I would like to think I would resist but I can't be sure. I have a family to take care off and I couldn't do that from a concentration camp or dead from a shoot out with vastly superior forces. I am sure many will say "Oh this can never happen." I hope it can't. I don't think it will, but what do you think anyway? Glenn

I am not strictly a one issue voter, but a candidates stand on gun ownership is my number one determining issue. 2012 looks really bad for gun owners. I don't need to go into Obama's record. Mitt Romney, the likely Republican candidate, supports the Brady Registration Act, mandatory 5-day waiting periods, mandatory firearms ID cards, the Federal Feinstein Gun Ban (so-called "assault weapons ban") and he signed the Massachusetts Semi-Auto Ban in 2004. Rick Santorum voted to support the Lautenberg Gun Ban in the 90s. He voted for a bill in 1999 that included a provision to require federal background checks at gun shows. In 2000, Santorum voted to force pawn shops to require a background check on anyone coming into the store to sell a firearm. He voted with gun-controlling Democrats Dianne Fienstein and Frank Lautenberg to mandate locks on handguns in 2005. Newt Gingrich supports the Brady National Gun Registry, a national biometric thumbprint database for gun purchasers, the Lautenberg Gun Ban and the “Criminal Safezones Act." Rick Perry as Governor of Texas, did make some improvements in state law for gun owners and claims on his website to be pro 2nd amendment but does any one think he has a snowballs chance in hell of getting the nomination? That leaves Ron Paul, who is very pro gun, but his views on foreign policy are scary, and I really don't think he has a chance of getting the nomination, much less beating Obama. Dark days are ahead for American gun owners Glenn

Turn In Your Neighbor for Illegal Gun
Glenn replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This treaty is very real, supported by Obama and strongly by Hillary. Obama has said that he can ratify a treaty by executive order. The fact that attempting to do so would be unconstitutional will not bother him at all. He has already shown that he has no regard for the constitution Who is rising up to stop him. The senate doesn't have the balls, the scotus has no power to enforce any ruling they might make against O, and at least half the country is too lazy or stupid to care what happens. Glenn -

Actually some of Obama's minions have floated the idea that if we sign a treaty, it can be binding without the senates approval. Besides, the senate hasn't shown much inclination to fight with O. He just does what he wants Glenn -

The UN treaty on small arms would overide our Constitution. The Obamanation could even say "I don't want to ban guns but this international treaty ties my hands". Don't you think a lot of countries would be glad to send some troops to enforce the UN rules in the US? Glenn -
Balls? What balls. They don't have no stinking balls! Glenn
