  1. Maybe we should be giving shooting lessons to idiot punks. Then they could kill each other. Glenn
  2. I think I have heard enough to make my decision. If the perps are obviously armed with firearms, I'm taking whatever advantage I can get. While I shoot good enough in practice, I have no experiance in such a situation and don't know how I will react. I don't want to trade gunfire, especially in my house. I'm not going to immediatly shoot someone that is armed only with a close range weapon, club, hammer etc. I am giving them a short chance to surrender, and I hope they take it. Glenn
  3. Sea biscuits provided protein, since they were usually infested with bugs. Glenn
  4. Pretty much the same for me Lester, except the cataracts are not bad enough for surgery yet.I was able to have a laser procedure for glaucoma so i don't have to use drops. Glenn
  5. and there won't be anyone left with your skills or the tools needed. Glenn
  6. I can accept that you could conceal yourself in a house, but cover, not so much. Sheetrock walls? Interior doors? No protection at all. Appliance? Not much better.Have you ever seen a refridgerator that has been shot? Maybe if your gun safe is sitting in the middle of the room it would make decent cover.I don't know.I don't really want to shoot someone in the back or anywhere else, but I sure don't want someone to shoot me. Glenn
  7. It sorta does, but yelling "Here I am, turn and face me" sounds sorta like John Wayne, and I ain't no John Wayne. Glenn
  8. One of my sons asked me this question and I wasn't sure of the answer so thought I would post it here. Scenario: You are awakened by sounds of someone in your house. You sneak out and see two men, obviously armed, with their backs to you. Can you shoot the first one in the back or do you have to warn them to turn around, creating a reasonable chance that one of them will at least get off a shot and could kill you. Glenn
  9. Awesome. 1,000 times better than some of the contorted, screeching warbling versions sung by a lot of so called singers. Glenn
  10. Recently my wife came upon a deer that had been hit by a car and was badly injured. She called me wanting to know what to do. I told her it had to be put down. Not what she wanted to hear. I tried to call TWRA since I thought it would be illegal to shoot the deer. Couldn't get an answer after numerous tries, even though their number was supposed to be manned until midnight. During all this, someone else called Knox co sheriff, who never showed up but sent the dog catcher. Anyway, the point of all this was that TWRA called me back the next morning and the woman said it would have been legal to put the deer down as long as you were not violating a local gun law such as discharging in the city, and you did not take possession of the deer , without their permission, which could be ruled as illegal hunting. Meanwhile someone else stopped and did the right thing. Glenn
  11. How is it these idiots think I have a duty to run from an attack but a criminal has no duty to not attack me. It's no wonder our country is in the shape it's in. So many people are IDIOTS! Glenn
  12. In the Zombie sub forum in a thread call "confused" (warning.. Disturbing mental images) there was mention of making bullets out of coins. Got me remembering ,which in it self is difficult to do these days, talk about loading shotgun shells with a stack of coins. I don't remember if it was dimes, nickels or pennies, but it was supposedly devastating at short range. Anyone ever hear of such a thing? Glenn
  13. A legally carried handgun and a anti-Obama sign could equal a felony. This law was not needed or intended to prevent violent acts. Plenty of laws against that already. This law is only to allow the Gov to squash protests. Even a misdemeanor for exercising free speech is an outrageous breach of the constitution. Glenn
  14. Oh. Then I guess all is well. Freedom is overrated anyway. Glenn
  15. Tn law is a misdemeanor. HR347 is a felony with up to 10 years in prison. That alone is a big difference. Glenn
  16. Apparently is was passed with little or no opposition.
  17. This has been going on for a long time. I remember a case at least 10 years ago where a jeweler was going overseas to buy diamonds and had 10 or 20 thousand seized in Tenn. He was not charged with anything. Glenn
  18. HR347 empowers the Secret Service to declare any place they choose a "no protest zone" making it a felony to violate. Here is Judge Andrew Napolitono's take: http://www.youtube.c...kirzg&vq=medium Carry a sign, chant a slogan in sight of a politician, get a nice long vacation in the pen. The Secret Service is claiming this is no big deal. Read for yourself This Act may be cited as the `Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011'. SEC. 2. RESTRICTED BUILDING OR GROUNDS. Section 1752 of title 18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: -`Sec. 1752. Restricted building or grounds `(a) Whoever-- `(1) knowingly enters or remains in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so; `(2) knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions; `(3) knowingly, and with the intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, obstructs or impedes ingress or egress to or from any restricted building or grounds; or `(4) knowingly engages in any act of physical violence against any person or property in any restricted building or grounds; or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be punished as provided in subsection ( `( The punishment for a violation of subsection (a) is-- `(1) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than 10 years, or both, if-- `(A) the person, during and in relation to the offense, uses or carries a deadly or dangerous weapon or firearm; or `( the offense results in significant bodily injury as defined by section 2118(e)(3); and `(2) a fine under this title or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both, in any other case. `© In this section-- `(1) the term `restricted buildings or grounds' means any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area-- `(A) of the White House or its grounds, or the Vice President's official residence or its grounds; `(of a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting; or `© of a building or grounds so restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance; and `(2) the term `other person protected by the Secret Service' means any person whom the United States Secret Service is authorized to protect under section 3056 of this title or by Presidential memorandum, when such person has not declined such protection.'. Sounds to me like it can apply to almost anyone anywhere they want it to Glenn
  19. You may not shed any tears for them, and I won't either, but we are going to be shedding a lot of tax dollars to bail the idiots out. glenn
  20. I think a lot of people would still vote for him. Socialism sounds got to the leeches of society. Glenn
  21. The first gun I bought was a Ruger Blackhawk 3 screw 357. Bought it at a Sheriff's auction of seized guns in Grainger county. $90.00 cash no questions asked. I still have it and it is still one of my favorite handguns. Glenn
  22. The biggest thing wrong with what he said was "ruled over" Obviously he and his ilk, including O, don't understand we are not subjects that are ruled over. We are citizensthat are represented. At least we are supposed to be. Glenn
  23. I guess it would be more to their liking if it read "Deaths from being a defenseless victim up 300%" Glenn
  24. I still haven't shot mine. Really itching to try it out but things have just been too hectic. Glenn
  25. I don't know anything about Mausers but I love the view past it. Glenn
