Leroy, This is clear and exactly to the point. Thanks for saying what I wish I could say so well. Great job.
One thing to keep in mind is that many nations supporting this treaty are countries engulfed in civil war, lawlessness, and genocide. They have a different motive and perspective than we do in the United States. They see it as a way to control the illegal weapons trade that supplies criminal warlords and makes it difficult to establish law and order. This is also the reason I have heard for support from American politicians who do support it. Does that mean they perceive it as a side opportunity to restrict gun ownership in the United States? Perhaps. Regardless, the treaty must be ratified by the US Senate and treaties are subordinate to the US Constitution as they relate to American citizens. I don't think it will be ratified, just like how the United States has refused to sign onto the treaty related to the International Criminal Court.
some supporters see it as a way to keep people from being able to overthrow their sorry asses

It may come to where can we move that doesn't give us those laws!

I think the executive wants the people to think congress is obsolete, and sometimes congress seems to be trying to prove him right

My list exactly except the BAR would top my list. Then the MG 42. Both are expensive to feed though. -
Here's the actual list of Obama's Executive Orders
Glenn replied to 1gewehr's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
#14 and #15 could both lead to regulations that could be almost anything. CDC could say the only way to stop gun violence is to ban guns. #15 could lead to impossible standards such as requiring all guns to only fire for their owner. (This has been suggested before). All in all not as bad as it could be be I'm not jumping for joy -

I think Mathews is the one that looked like a d**k head -
If these are standardized forms, it would not be a big deal to scan and turn them into digital files automatically.

I know I need to start reloading again. I just can't seem to carve out enough time. With the shortages of ammo I may have to move reloading up the priority list. I have a Dillon press that has been unused for over 20 years.

Has anybody seen a decent price on 7.62 x 25? Surplus or new. I saw some for close to $1.00 a round. Crazy

Until I see some proof that a lot of criminals are getting guns this way, I say no. It will just be registration. -
Sandy hook conspiracy? (Bring your tin foil hat)
Glenn replied to ProjectDexter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not saying this is some kind of conspiracy, but some things seem strange. I also find it strange that some people accuse anyone that questions the official version of anything of being "tin foil hat" I guess the whole fast and furious affair is just tin foil hat stuff. The Benghazi attack is just tin foil hat stuff too. After all, the Libs say so. -

The Overton Window is much more than a book by Glenn Beck. From Wikipedia: The Overton window is a political theory that describes as a narrow "window" the range of ideas that the public will find acceptable, and that states that the political viability of an idea is defined primarily by this rather than by politicians' individual preferences.[1] It is named for its originator, Joseph P. Overton,[2] a former vice president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.[3] At any given moment, the “window†includes a range of policies considered politically acceptable in the current climate of public opinion, which a politician can recommend without being considered too extreme to gain or keep public office. By suggesting extreme ideas that aren't currently acceptable, the window is moved a little at a time, to include policy that was previously outside the "window"

Did you ever listen to the ads? Quote "anti-depressants may cause suicidal thoughts or action among young adults" They don't say that stuff for nothing. -
I took the Mosin to Norris this morning and finally got it sighted in. After that, hitting clay pigeons at 100 yards was fairly easy. Dang awesome. Now I need to get some quality ammo and see what it will do.

Surely I don't sense surprise here. -
Came from Classic Arms. The previous batch, not the ones they are selling now. I was shooting surplus ammo, but this batch has been reasonably accurate in my other Mosin. I have been trying to get out again to try to get it sighted in. Maybe this saturday will cooperate.

Yep, it will be about Walmart making more money while we get the shaft.

A spokesperson, no matter how good, is unlikely to make much of an impact. If he or she is really good, they won't be allowed on any mainstream media.

I didn't watch the video. Don't need to since I am familiar with Morgan and Alex jones I have a good idea how it went.We don't need lunatics speaking for us, but if we continue to "be nice" and don't stand up for our rights, we are going to wake up and find them gone. SOON. The left is not going to play nice. They will lie, cheat, manipulate, bully or whatever it takes to sway opinion and get their way. Just calling our representatives is not going to cut it. 95% of them don't give a rat's rear end what the people want. Gun rights needs loud and aggressive leaders and some kind of show of numbers by peaceful demonstrations. Our time is short.

Victim decides NOT to shoot attacker!
Glenn replied to walton6467's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
First, who just stands there and gets shot 20 times. After the first I would have been shooting or moving. Second, I have a friend that almost died from one punch in the face, so you never know.
