Storage For Tools and Cleaning Kit
ShaggyRS6 replied to ShaggyRS6's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Thanks for all the great suggestions chaps ! -
I wonder if any of you folks have suggestions or examples of how you store you gun cleaning tools and products? I am trying to clean up my work bench, so I can actually use it as a work bench and wanted to organize the tools so I can give them a home. Would like to section of cleaning products, maybe cleaning tool by caliber etc. Ideally it would be something I could put on the work bench for easy access. I looked at a few of the pro tool cheats but they are so expensive. Any ideas or thoughts would be great!

Dave this is interesting and something that was not really covered on my carry course at the local PD. So if I read this right, with a TN carry permit you can open carry? I was actually in my local range at the weekend and this guy walked in, non PD and he was open carrying a 1911, I just thought he may have had some special permit.

I am big time into Air Rifles. I used to use them all the time in the UK. Great for learning how to stalk as you need to get up close. I used both Daystate and RWS brands. If there is anything done better in Eurooe, it's the manufacturing of Air Rifles! I'd only use those 2 brands. In .177, I love Air Rifle shooting. I should add though that rifles in the UK are limited I'm power, but I do believe if you are ordering into the US you can have that limitation removed.

I just need land really , that's the ideal scenario for me. Varmint control. So if anyone wants to share some with me let me know! Nice bottle of Whisky on offer and of course my awesome friendship which can't be bought, well, except in this case -

Really need a rifle range . I think what I will actually do is join the Stone River place . I think that's my best bet. It's only a short distance away and I can't fire the cheap NATO 5.56 -

How far do you travel to get there ? My only reservation would be, would I actually make the journey enough to justify the cost -

Ok so I am hearing I should give RR a look even though it’s a 60 mile round trip! -

Thanks for the feedback sir! -
Just wondering if you guys have any thoughts on the Nashville Armory or the Royal Range. I have been thinking for a while now about joining. I am in Mt Juliet so 20 or so miles to NA or 30 to RR. Distance is a factor for me but I'd sacrifice the additional 10 miles if needs be. I'd do the individual package at NA or the Director Cut at RR. I wonder what your experiences have been. Are they "clickly" places? and what I mean by that is, if your not one of the cool kids will you not fit in? I hate that. What about getting a lane, even on the busy weekends. How does that workout? Any feedback you have would be great.

That’s tantamount to a crime in the UK I do miss it. I can’t wait until I get back out there again! Thanks for posting your story as well, it’s great to different perspectives.
-
Thanks for that! I’m actually drawn more now toward a kyack with an electric engine. I think what I am seeing is if you want anything that’s a good standard, it’s all gonna cost $$$

That Seadoo does look great though

I like the sound of the drive on trailer! It would be for bass fishing as i'd be on the shore for carp.
-
If you ever want to go on a session with me let me know!
-
Bait-caster for Carp, but i'd do that from the sure and have a couple of long 48 hour sessions in my Bivvy, Spinning setup for bass.

YES!!! Life Goal Achieved!

That would make sense or something like that. I have a few clearances for certain government agencies for my job. Nothing super secret or anything like that, but that may of helped.

I am looking at options for fishing, its one of my loves! In the UK I was a huge Carp fisherman, they are prized fish in England, my biggest was 33lbs. In fact they make the news when they die Bit different to the US. Anyhow, I'm going to start carp fishing again when the weather gets a little better, I have all my gear with me, so if anyone wants to spend some time with me and learn how we do it in the UK just ask! I love bass fishing also and have been thinking about a Bass Boat, Kayak or a Jetski. Now while I was all for a Bass Boat, I really don't want the expense, I have had a Kayak before, but I have a bad back and pulling those thing out the water and onto a trailer of roof aint fun for me. So I was thinking of a Jetski! I wondered if there were any purpose built machines available and if any of you guys use one?

I think why mine was so easy is that I had only just got my TN DL 3 weeks previously, I spoke to someone who worked at the DMV today and they said I must have already been fresh in the system and that's why it went the way it did.
