  1. This is what I have right now. The build project was going to go along that wall where the fishing rods are, but due to the new truck, If I can get it in the cupboards down the side on the car will have to move as there would be no way it would fit in, that means moving them to the other side of the garage, then I would need to rethink!
  2. Project on temp hold. I went truck shopping today and pretty much settled on an LT Trail Boss, the one with the 2 Inch lift. So If I can get that in my garage (which will be tight) I am going to have to move some stuff around which will result in new bench dimensions. So on hold!
  3. After knocking on doors for the last 2 months ( or rather by sending emails these days) I have been lucky enough to have been asked to get rid of a few pests on a couple of pieces of land for the land owner! I want to make sure I am all above board before I go out and deal with their issues so wanted to get some advice. First things first, I do have a hunters ed course under my belt, it's from NJ, is is reciprocal down here and I carry the permit and I also double checked with TWRA. I also asked them what I could and could not so in terms of vermin control on someone's land. I just wanted to confirm with you fine folks if what they told me is correct, cos, well you never know! They said, I cant be paid, and I assured them I was not looking to get paid nor would except payment. They then went on to say that I had to follow the normal hunting rules in terms of what I could shoot, when I could shoot, and how much I could shoot! I also asked, once again on private land if the rules were different in the caliber I could use, now this part of the conversation I dont fully recall, but I put in brackets what I think she said. The issues I have been asked to deal with right now are: Coyotes (Shoot them with anything?) Squirrels (Shotgun or .22 or Air rifle? I mean if I am out shooting a Coyote and I see one and I have my AR can I shoot them, of course as long as the shot is safe) Turkey (Shotgun?) Both land owners have an abundance that have been pushed their way throughout the year as a result in hunting nearby. Both land owners also have deer and have said I can take these per the normal hunting rules and regs. I went on to ask TWRA about not being able to thin the squirrels and Turkey out, out of hunting season and the answer was no. Only the landowner could do that and only if they were causing direct damage to their property, which the squirrels are, but the landowner, for their own reasons does not want to do it. The Turkey's, well they are just nuisance and are spooking her horses etc.
  4. I’m actually carrying mine right now too as my P238 is back with Sig for repairs.
  5. Are their still spaces available?
  6. I'll post some pics tomorrow of what I already have. I really only need to make something small, although had that bench on craigslist still been available I would have grabbed it.
  7. It was the first hand gun I ever owned. Its about 4 years old now and looks like the day I bought it! It is awesome.
  8. Dunno why, but I just felt like getting the camera out tonight! I do a bit pf photography in my spare time, feel free to look here https://www.flickr.com/photos/shaggyrs6/ Anyhoo, just messing about!
  9. Gonna build my own. Wish me luck!
  10. I called and someone had snagged it.
  11. I guess I could drop by on the way home tonight. I have to drive over the woodland street bridge
  12. That’s funny. If I had a truck I’d get it tonight! The even funnier thing is I lived about 5 houses down from that location in an Air B&B when I first moved here
  13. Yep that’s it Ronald that’s the exact one. I think I might actually just do that again but keep it real simple. The guy that did my big bench for me went all in. It’s 4 feet wide, make of solid wood is 8 feet long, shelves etc , it’s a beast. The other thing I though of was just turning that big bench into the main bench, because that thing is sturdy and then make something smaller for the gear I move.
  14. I am slowly but surely ploughing through a couple of books regarding building an AR. Regardless of any actually ending up building one I can say the info has provided me with an invaluable learning experience. I already have a large solid work bench, it’s one of those ones you can get from Amazon, they provide the legs and screws etc then you build it to your specs with your own wood. I now I need more bench space ! I am looking for something about 4 -5 feet long that will be man enough to take a vice and maybe in the future some reloading equipment. I know the obvious answer is to build my own, but I am a complete DB when it comes to that. Maybe time to learn ? Possibly! But I was wondering if you folks have any reccomendations or is there anyone on these forums that makes them ? If I am going to be spending some cash why not keep it within this community! Let me know your thoughts!
  15. I contacted Sig and shared the pictures I took. They agree that this should not happen and have sent me Fedex Lables to I can ship to them to fix!
  16. Okey dokey. I thought that was the answer. Just wanted to check! Thank you both !
  17. Hi everyone. My new P238, its 3 weeks old, I have out about 150 rounds through it. I got home from the range today and noticed the damage below you can see on the attached pics while I was cleaning it. The mark on the left actually feels as though there is some metal missing, its certainly not just the coating that has come off. I clean the gun methodically after each time I shoot and keep it well lubricated as I know Sig's like to be kept that way. Something I have noticed the last few times I have shot it is the first round I shoot each session does not eject properly, I am wondering if that is anything to do with the marks. I know sometimes that you need to bed these guns in on occasion. What do you think? Nothing to worry about, or take it back and have Sig replace the frame?
  18. Yeah I looked into it. Very expensive. That one you see here cost me 2500 pounds. So back then probably $3800 bucks
  19. Its A Sig RD, not sure of the model. Was about 120
  20. The target is blurred though, or was so I ended up moving the red dot about an inch foward and now I’m good. The are 3 zones in my glasses so I had to make adjustments accordianly!
  21. Verifocal Glasses! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_lens
  22. I was going through some old pics on my PC. I was actually looking for the Rabbit hunting I used to do but I must have got rid of all the photos. Anyhoo, I thought some of you may be interested in a small trip down memory lane! Ferrets were used for Rabbiting! The Landrover was my shooting wagon, there was literally nowhere where that could go, and my personal best Carp, 34lb Mirror Carp!
  23. At the moment I have it mounted over the ejection port. It's not working great for me though due to my verififocals. Now through trial and error i will hopefully fix the issue, just wondering if anyone have had the same experience and may have any guidance ?
  24. I dealt with them only once online. My main concern about buying anything is customer service. I'd rather support a local store and pay more in most cases. This is certainly the case with Buds. Terrible buying experience and awfull customer service in my opinion. Would never use them again.
