Just what everyone needs...a US Army Bridge Erection Boat
TomInMN replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
Would make a comfy duck hunting rig. Plus you could work "erection" into conversations at will, which is worth something! -
Like any law, people will break it or follow it if they're so inclined. And the regulators will regulate it if they're so inclined. But all that's aside from whether the pass exist or not...

No, not at all. Lots of states have adopted the International Building Code directly, or have based their building code on it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Building_Code

I can't speak to a suggested load, but I'd encourage you to make a visit to your local range and try shooting at 100 and 200 yards with your scope set to 4x and 6x just to see if that would work for you. If it does, I'd really encourage you to pick up a fixed power scope. Keep the glass as light and trim as your rifle.

And a New York version, YousTube.

What kind of use did you have in mind? Deer up close? Predators at night? Targets? Any interest in something like a fixed 4x or 6x? Fixed power scopes aren't really state of the art any more, but they're light and simple. And something like 6x could be good out to a couple hundred yards (though .243 is capable of much longer shots than that).

It might be worth a call to Magpul. Their shotgun stock gives a more vertical grip than is typical for shotguns and it's adjustable for LOP. I know they make one for the 870 and some Mossberg shotguns, they might be able to tell you if their stock will go onto your 505.

This thread might provide some insight:

I just watched a video that helped me over a hump in the brake job I'm doing. When I was a kid, my dad and I used to start out car projects at the library. Now we usually start on YouTube.

I wonder if that plate is original to the photo? It's at an odd angle, and seems a little brighter/ crisper than its surroundings. Plus, shouldn't those guys be wearing jean jackets?

You know, sometimes you can tell just by looking at a picture that some people just don't give a fork...

It's only terrible acting if they weren't doing it on purpose. If they meant it to come out like that, it's brilliant acting!

I agree that it's not something to be done with no mind for repercussions, but then nothing gun-related is. Someone with some mechanical aptitude, willingness to study the system until they learn it and how to safely interact with it, and willingness to work slowly and test thoroughly can safely do a trigger job. Or they could just swap a couple of springs out, which may do wonders for a clean and crisp 6.5 pound trigger. And no grinding necessary! (That's humor, don't grind anything trigger-related. Probably don't even file. Polish, if anything.)
-
I probably don't qualify as a serious anything guy at this point in my life, but I'm not gonna let that stop me! Money aside, it certainly won't hurt anything. A crisp trigger at 6 pounds can be shot well, a crisp trigger at 3 or 4.5 pounds can be shot well with less practice by people with a more diverse level of skill. If you're handy and have some idea of how mechanical systems work, consider polishing the mating surfaces in your current fire control group. If you hose it up, you can always drop this trigger in. If you don't, think of the satisfaction!

Holy schnikes am I slow on the uptake...

What if that becomes all that's available? Lawmakers do the darndest things...

RANGE USA Closed up shop in the middle of the night
TomInMN replied to SonnyCrockett's topic in Handguns
Probably not much help for folks looking to recoup their membership cost, but wouldn't ATF be interested in the consignment guns that aren't returned to their owners? Isn't that theft? -

I'm glad you're not under the gun to find work, I know how much fun that is. If you have the time and inclination, it might be worth investigating whether it's feasible to work with a few local shops and ranges, to sub out the type of work you did for RUSA. I'm not sure how things like federal and local licensing or insurance would come into play if you're contracting rather than employed, but there might be something there if you're willing to chase it a bit. -

Krunchnik, where are you looking for work, and what kind of work are you looking for? Are you in a position to relocate? I'm not in a position to to hire you, but someone on the forum might know someone who is.
