Well that kinda sucks. Guess in a defensive situation you could just piss on it to clear the fog off?
-
Congrats, but they can he a slippery slope. Highly suggest you sell it NOW before dumping so much love into it.....oh hey I happen to be looking for one! All just in fun sir. You should have a great time shooting it.

Every day upon donning my gear, I do several weapon draws from the holster. My aim is smoothness and adjusting my thinking and grip so the sights are lined up with the target upon presentation. If not I keep doing it until they are. I do this with the laser as well, if it is my laser equipped ccw gun. In my case that the technique is a bit different than with irons Mostly a matter of where my head is in relation to the weapon. The grip is only slightly different as the weapon is just a tad lower than with irons only At the range I find ccw drills with an optic are the slowest of the three Mind you I am working on first round on target from draw, not strings of targets In steel work, the optic is very nice though

Just as a final thought. It is far more important to me that I have a weapon with me that I know how to use and am competent with. I don’t forsee encounters with multiple immediate deadly threats at once, could be wrong! As such, the smaller more comfortable weapons like a LCP or SW snubbie far outweigh round count. Hell a good holster far outweighs round count imo So I’m a basic kinda guy

Yeah it might do better with rn, but doesn't want to work that way with any hollow points (Sig/IWI/Federal). If I remember correctly the manual suggests loading it the way I do, ie locking slide back first, Once loaded it runs perfectly.

Have the version of the PC 9 with the M-Lok forend, love it. Use mine with Glock magazines. Recently put a red dot on it, but even with standard iron sights it is super fun to shoot One a the few guns I have no bitches or complaints about.
-
My eyes are old and the idea of a red dot was enticing. Have three now and am indifferent about their usefulness. At the range I like them. However, for self defense it takes a lot of practice at first to get the red dot right on target from a draw. It Can work,, but takes practice. Two negatives for me are, moisture can cause the battery not to make proper contact, my SIG Romeo 1 pro is prone to occasional drift and there is the phenomenon of ”chasing the dot.” Oh right, that’s three...

If 34 people attack at once then even a Glock 9mm with a 33 round mag is not enough. Every armed defense class I have had presumes one or two attackers. IDPA sometimes uses multiple target scenarios, but I don’t carry in case an IDPA match suddenly comes at me on the street (humor). Carry what you are comfortable with

I have had one for about five months. I think the double strike trigger is more hype than useful. The trigger pull is quite long and sometimes it seems like it will never go off, then it does. None the less I like this pistol quite alot. Carry a SW BG 38, SIG P365, Ruger lcp ii as edc. Have a decent holster for the G3c and it carries pretty well. I have a “roundush” figure so the other three conceal better. Have been leaving the G3c in the glovebox in case I forget to don one of my regular carry guns Have shot it quite alot and trust it to work. Oh, mine shot very low so put a higher Glock rear sight on, easy, and shoots well now. Mine does not like being slingshot to feed the first round for loading, it will misfeed. Instead I lock the slide back, insert mag and then hit the mag release lever Works every time doing it that way. Its not a perfect gun, but is quite a lot of value. It can put a dozen rounds downrange in short order. Not fussy about ammo, runs well. Ed in Sevierville

Trying to identify Arisaka....NOT FOR SALE!

Good suggestion. I have heard of that product. It has just been hanging on a wall as part of his Uncles war collection btw, turns out I did get a shot of the “mum”. Hope it is enjoyable eye candy for all: -

Oh, I did tell him to write down its history, provenience. along with supporting letters docs. Possibly it is not worth that effort though -
Trying to identify Arisaka....NOT FOR SALE!
JustEd replied to JustEd's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I think his motivation is that it is a family heirloom and wants to preserve it. Doesn’t know how himself. Thought my suggestion of swabbing the bore and a lightly oiled rag on the outside was not worthy enough He asked if I know someone so I asked here. Gosh, I wish I had gotten an image of that beautiful bore..oh well. -
Trying to identify Arisaka....NOT FOR SALE!

Thanks guys, that answers my question. He would like to find someone in the Chattanooga area to clean it up. Personally I would just run a patch down the barrel and wipe it down Anyone recommend someone? -

Didn't get a pic but it does have a clear Chrysanthemum mark on the breach of the barrel. -
Neighbors son brought this by today. Says his Uncle was in WWII and got this from one of the Pacific Island Campaigns. Has never been looked at by anyone, a wall hanger. Additional markings as in following pictures.: He originally thought it was a type 38 training rifle. I am in no way a collector or expert, however according to Forgotten Weapons video those were either rimfire or chambered for blanks. This has a regular bolt/chamber/rifled barrel. So is it a type 99 in carbine length (39") Any idea what it is or who might be qualified to look at it. His goal is to preserve its collectablity. Wanted to clean it but it is surprisingly clean and told him just to rub it with an oily rag for now. OH, AND LET ME ADD....THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO SERVED AND WHOM NOW SERVE!!!

Hear ya' all. Possibly the. current prices and availability are the future of the shooting hobby (for the very rich only) Who needs restrictive gun laws with prices like these? Am currently exhausting my reloading supplies and then will ration my remaining loads as if they have to last the rest of my life...possibly so?? The good news is that I am pretty old

Am not really a Ruger revolver fan, but did own a LRCx. Would not worry about the plastic frame. Only thing I didn't like on the LCRx was the trigger which would slap your finger really hard on reset when using +P loads. Recoil usually doesn't bother me, but this actually smacked my trigger finger so hard it hurt. Mind you when I shoot, its usually 100 or so rounds of the good stuff. I sometimes carry my trusty S&W Bodyguard .38 with +P loads. It is much more comfortable to shoot although I think the Ruger was built better (yes I said that). btw, Overall I agree with you. Not only are most revolvers overpriced but many have trigger pull set so hard it makes them hard to love. Didn't use to be that way...but the was it is with Ruger and S&W now a days. Have not tried Taurus revolvers.

I don't mind that they are OOS, its that they keep advertising it in they fliers like it was available.
-
Not to kidnap your thread, but Natchez wizzes me off. I keep getting catalogs with ammo which is neither available not will ever be at the advertised price again Sorry for rant, just need to vent.

Don't even know if the tests are all that accurate? One friend of mine tested positive and a few days later was negative. Same for his son. Possibly the media is just spinning the tests to show a more sever threat than COVID really is. Then again, they could be right. I am not an expert nor do I play one on YouTube :0

btw, and not related to Buds. Just talked to a manufacture of bullets for reloading. They keep changing their website saying how long the delay will be. It is now up to 8-12 weeks. They already charged my cc and not wanting to pay on something I con't have, phoned and cancelled the order. It was the most rude call with a manufacturer I have ever had. The guy just WANTED to argue. Said I called him a liar and he spoke of peoples mothers. Uncouth! Its someplace in the Bayou country. Wow, can you imagine calling Sig for service and getting that kinda of talk. Whew possibly I will go back to photography

Is it a sign of the times...hope not? That would be a horrible future to look forward to.

Have seen a few YouTube vids on this (so now i am an expert). Seems the dominant opinion is that it probably won't hurt the mag spring or mag housing unless they are poorly made. Yet, most also recommend emptying the magazines so that each gets some empty time. Emptying could be either use at the range or manually unloading and the re-loading them. Personally, I doubt this makes much difference...a good mag should be ok for a year or so. With all that said, I keep my Sig P365 mags loaded a round short of capacity because they are so tight when topped off. But that is just me, Sig hopefully designed them to be reliable when topped off. Almost no one I have heard preaches doom and gloom about leaving mags loaded for a reasonable amount of time (year or so).
