I love mine for many reasons. That is but one of them Spoiler, just spent 900+ on a Hellcat, modify cut, mount Holosun and Apex trigger job. Like carrying the LCP II more

Am sooo tired of buying a new handgun, mostly small 9's, only to find out that they are sighted to a combat hold. For me, the poi should be directly on top of the front sight rather than under the white dot on it. That's the way 1911's on most revolvers are. The combat hold makes it difficult for me to see what you are shooting if plinking small stuff. When my Austrian instructor first showed me this sighting method decades ago, I thought he was joking. He claimed it was a natural sight picture in a defensive encounter. Now it has become almost standard on micro or sub compact 9's. AND I DON"T LIKE IT Yes there are aftermarket sights, but in my experience they usually are sighted the same as the manufacturers. Glock makes adjustable or just higher rear sights, but not every dovetail fits Glock sights. And no, I don't like filing down my front sight to a nub. On a bright note, my little Ruger LCPII 380 puts shots right on top of the front blade as it should. Went through a 50 round box of WWB yesterday at ORSA and it reliably plinked steel at 30 feet. Not so much at 60 feet, but that's a combination of me and the short sight radius. End of Rant ps: Combat hold most recently encountered on Sig P320, P365, Hellcat, M&P. My Taurus G3c uses Glock sights so was able to change out the rear on it.
  4. Cute buddy. I have to watch mine as he likes to put his paw on the scale.
  5. That is a really mild load. You must are shooting softer lead??? btw I also belong to ORSA, Usually go to Gattlinburg Sportsmans Club for pistol or any Chrono work as there is less "traffic". Its also. lot closer to me
  6. From what I have read they are the same except for a slightly thicker/stronger case material. As far as magnum being hotter that is rather hard to prove, primer manufacturers are pretty tight lipped about specs. For now just use what you have. I have loaded very hot .357's with regular sp primers and I quit before the primers did (ouch).
  7. Had an M&P 9 PC comp and absolutely hated it. Got gummed up too easily, several types of factory 115 and 124 gr ammo. Comp left black marks on the barrel which were hard to clean Went back to S&W they said I should use 100 gr or lighter bullets...really? Hope yours works better.
  8. New unused (17 round). This was for a "M+P9 M2.0 4.22" NTS NMS PC PORTED" which I sold. This was on backorder from S&W and arrived a couple of months after I sold the gun. Can't use so a good deal for you. I don't know what other guns it fits, so don't ask ftf Sevierville $15.00 -- PM and will respond with contact info
  9. It just sold this weekend, will mark it as such. Thanks for the interest.
  10. I did. Tried pushing it in so hard it got stuck, that's when the photo was taken. Had a friend hold onto the holster while I wiggled the 1911 to get it out.
  11. Before you type out a negative response, kindly grant me adequate notice so I can don my flame retardant suit
  12. There may be local fire ordinances or possibly restrictions if you live in an apartment, I have never encountered any even in the Peoples Republic of Kommiefornia. With that said, there are some guides available online as to the safe storage of powder. In particular powder should be stored by itself (not with primers) in a wooden box with openings to allow some of the pressure to vent if it ignites. It sounds counterintuitive, as one would think it is best to keep it in a tight container to keep stuff from getting to the powder. But there some logic to this method. I think the idea is not to make a bomb by storing powder in a metal container which could explode if the powder somehow ignited (this is my own interpretation and wording). I store mine in an old wood military mortar round box with some added spacing between slats. Powder is ALWAYS in the manufacturers container. I never leave powder in my measure after a reloading session. Common sense prevails, imo.
  13. Is it possible that NORMA rebrands ammo in order to offer a low cost option to its customers? Not saying that is the case, but it seems that the brass I have problems reloading are mostly Eastern European in origin.
  14. Not if the trigger guard won't even go into the holster. Exposed trigger on a 1911 is not a desirable "feature" for carry, at any time.
  15. They said this fits a Sig 1911. Not imo it doesn't. Yes, is pushed in as hard as can be. edit: Found a good fitting holster locally. Isn't she pretty all snuggled away in black leather
  16. Have had Allstate for decades. Whenever I respond to one of those, "will save you $$$" advertisements they don't. My agent is in West Knoxville. There is one is Sevierville which I have not dealt with, possibly others. I do like being able to go visit your agents office and have things explained to you.
  17. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure how to feel a bout this. It sound fair until one considers it would put more pressure on the DA charging to plea bargain on go full bore for a conviction. No matter what facts are revealed during the trial process. Overall, I say NO
  18. Buds gun shop in Sevierville had one for rent at the range when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Handled it but did not shoot it. Don't like indoor ranges, call me spoiled. edit: I handled it and thought the trigger was on the heavy side.
  19. California has been pushing for that to be standard on handguns for years now, along with microstamping. Wonder how they will explain away continued gun violence in that State when these become the dominant firearm type? Seems that the politicians would be smarter to blame gun violence on criminals rather than the failure of electronic interlocks...jmo
  20. Not actually my favorite, but looks cool. Posted this pic from yesterday of the gun in new DeSantis holster (Midway USA). Springfield Hellcat OSP with Holosun 407k x2 mounted. Also has a Apex trigger enhancement. Its fine as a carry gun, but imo no better than the Sig P365 I had (sold to get optic ready gun). I was reliably popping steel at 13-15 yards yesterday in Oak Ridge from behind barriers. Not as good as my Sig P320 with Grayguns trigger and Romeo 1 pro, but not too far behind accuracy wise. IMO, there are several really good choices in this price category. Would consider Taurus and Ruger variants if buying again today. We are so lucky to be living in a golden age of carry guns,
  21. Wlecome to Tennessee. Great people here on tngunowners.
  22. At this point have to accuse myself of thread napping. However this is what the Hellcat OSP looks like with Holosun 407k x2 in DeSantis Variable GRD holster Notice the forward top part of the holster offers some protection to the lens of the red dot
  23. No reason to do entire slide. It is just two marks under the Holosun, like screw heads. I just coated mine with cold blue. Really no big deal. Mind you that was having a gun smith mill the lugs down. If you diy with a file there would be more metal exposed Also, a adapter plate would keep the Holosun from co witnessing. It does that nicely if mounted directly onto slide. 407k or 507k.
  24. Exactly. Not hard to do or have done. Cost me 50 bucks at a smith
  25. Not a shill for Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo, but just notices they have the Hellcat OSP with WASP red dot for $629.99
