Congrats, some accessory lights have inline dimmers. Might see if there is one for yours. Mine was fairly inexpensive

10mm is interesting as a replacement for .357 revolvers. Would suspect the 10mm round will edge the .357 sales out now that there are more firearms chambered in it. Am wondering if the ballistics, ie expansion of hp ammo, holds up with the shorter 3.8" barrel? Understood that it rather depends on who makes the ammo.

The 4.5" is at the extreme upper end of size and weight for me to carry. The round count is nice, but consider the extra weight 10 rounds of 230gr app adds to the 32 oz pistol. I would consider it more of a fun range/plinking gun. However,I personally would always choose a 1911 over anything else for range/target shooting. They just feel right and are easy to upgrade trigger and sights (presuming it is a dovetail sight to begin with). A word of caution, if you really want to start shooting a lot, reconsider the 45 acp. In todays world it is considerably more expensive than 9mm. Reloading is no longer as cost effective due to the scarcity and expensive of primers.

Range or carry?

Look for a local gun club which has IDPA matches. The clubs I have been involved in welcome newcomers. Most offer cheap intro to IDPA classes. They teach the basic weapons handling skills you will need IDPA does not have much emphasis on when or when not to shoot or legal stuff. It is simply a skill builder

I heard on You Tube (so it must be true) that Federal had the round under development before the Covid outbreak. They released it to recover some of their tooling and development costs despite current conditions Translation…well we know it’s not the time for it but here it is anyway. Just look at the pretty adds and buy one. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for

One size can be adapted to fit all and serve multiple purposes.

Last try…only 499.95 now -
I might start carrying my 3" .38+p just for a bit added power over the usual 2” jmo

Well you asked for an opinion, so here is mine In that situation, the 45. Would choose 230 gr Jrn for penetration. Of the two calibers that has the most chance against something big and furry. Now for defensive carry in an urban environment I highly favor the 9mm with 115 gr hollow points That’s why we have different calibers, for different situations.

Stainless 64-3....3" stainless. Has a wonderful da/sa trigger pull. It was worked on by a gunsmith when I acquired it some years ago. Was my wife's bedside gun. Still nice shape. Let me know if interested am in Sevierville

Price lowered... Picked this up last year at a gun show. Wasn't looking for one, but the condition and smooth action impressed me. Shoots well and lockup/timing are great. Seems not to have seen much use. Has Hogue grips. Sold as shown, no manual or other items. Ruger website lists the serial # as capable of +P $535 ftf near Sevierville, will not ship. Must be able to legally purchase a firearm in the State of TN. PM me and will send contact phone number THANKS FOR LOOKING!

SW Bodyguard 38> Hellcat-LCP II-P365-SP 101. Prefer the 38 snubbie for etc edit: I prefer the SW snubbie to my Sig 1911 as well.

Only MOST Sigs....well welcome to the forum anyway

Same price at Bud's Gun Shop in Sevierville

I love a pocket 38 loaded with +P ammo. Have had several and all have been faves for carry If you are looking to getting a snubbie, I would suggest finding one with 6 round capacity, Reloading a revolver in a defensive situation means..."You are dead." If there were 7 rounders of reasonable dimensions, I would get one of those,

Have not seen a great deal of movement in the price of 9mm ammo recently. Seems to hover between 18-20 per box of 50 for jacketed round nose range stuff. There are a variety of different brands available now. Availability and variety of JHP has increased in the past few months. Some JHP almost seems reasonably priced again...almost. Have not purchased 45 acp in many many moons. For a while it was unobtainable, but now seems readily available at about 30 per fifty of jacketed round nose range stuff. Not sure what JHP is out there. You might save a buck or two per box by looking around or finding a deal on a off brand, However, if you are thinking of waiting to buy hoping the prices will drop, it may not work out. There is no reason for prices to go down due to supply issues. < That is my opinion. edit: that includes prices of primers

Personally am not a fan of the 40 S&W, but if it works for you get it. As with ALL firearms, get the ammo while you can...AND LOTS OF IT!!! With all the craziness and low supply of items we could see the supply drop. I sincerely doubt we will see any lower prices than we have now. -Ed

"To my knowledge, then she picked it up, she picked it up by the barrel, and it went off again... It was not a suicide. It was just a freak accident." Sympathy for the mother and understand how it is hard to accept the more likely scenario. What the Hell were young teens doing in a bathroom at 2 am with a gun. Major problem with that.

There are fans of both. FOR ME, the 6moa dot works better as it is the same size as the one on my P320. That’s my main and frequent steel banger. Have two other red dots but smaller moa, both are 22’s. Same same works for me in practice vs carry. Both are good systems.

The pretty one I just saw at Bud's Gun Shop in Sevierville. You know, the fancy one that no one could afford and you can't get ammo for anyway.

Have the red dot version of the 407k on my Hellcat. It is quite good. Been on for about 4 or 5 months with no issues. Doesn't seem to change zero like one of Sig Romeo 1's did (replaced). Auto off/on is fantastic. I did have to get a DeSantis holster which was cut for the optic, but it is a good holster.
