  1. Post in — Trading Post./Firearms classifieds section— Is your best bet.
  2. I did watch a YouTube video wherein the reviewer said he had some trigger bite when shooting. Other than that seemed quite positive,
  3. No but it does seem interesting. Glock 19 has become the new 1911, everyone makes one.
  4. Nice rifle. Personally, the "engraving" doesn't thrill me. Not sure if it adds or subtracts from value though the wood itself looks nice. Like chances R said ... "shoot it like it buy it.
  5. Unclear as to why you want to change calibers? What is the intended use? For everyday carry I would stay with the 9mm. If you can afford it, hang onto the 9mm as sell.

    CARRY PISTOL

For most of my carry life it as been a .38 spl...usually +P Then for a few years i carried 9mm (Glock, Hellcat, or Sig P365. In the end, found them not as concealable or comfortable as the snubbie. Though my confidence in the 9mm over the 38's is much greater. Have a cute little LCP but would only rate the .380 round as ... "better than being completely disarmed." Now, its either the Kimber snubbie or in. a rare case my Taurus G3c. The Taurus is in the vehicle in a clip on holster. It is only there because it is cheap and don't care if it gets liquid on it. It can be clipped inside my belt if I forgot to carry my snubbie and am going into a store. Not for any other reason.

    Lasers on EDC

Not on many new firearms now a days. Seem to be mostly available an add on. Would only consider one built into the grip. Under barrel is a no go. Can be of use at home for a inside night time threat engagement. On the negative side, it shows the assailant exactly where you are. h
  8. Think we agree on much.. Would sum it up as -- What looks cool is not always the best thing in the real world.
  9. Comps are for competition Well and the uninformed who think adding stuff will make them shoot better without really shooting their defensive weapon
  10. 300 blackout 450bushmaster If you want a 308 or 6.5 cred. I personally would not go with the AR platform jmo
  11. Great find, congratulations Thanks for sharing the nice pics
  12. Second time out and happy with mine reliable feeding and decent accuracy. Adjustable rear sight allows me to get a spot on hold. It was set as a combat hold but racked rear up enough that it now shoots dead on Gosh, it can throw brass very far away
  13. Have had a version of this labeled American Firearms. Think it is same gun from the 70’s Grayfox correctly explained disassembly. mine has been missing the extractor since the late 1980’s. Still works and ejects spent rounds. Apparently that part was not needed for actual firing , just for extracting a live round. Was going to save it for a gun buyback but could never keep my self respect if I did that Good luck on cleaning it up. Not much to go wrong btw , anyone have an extra magazine for sell?
  14. The Fedetal Champion was 24.95 per fifty round box
  15. Not going to go overboard, but initial shooting impressions of my new Rock 1911 in 10mm are quite favorable. Went through 75 rounds of Federal Champion 170 gr loads like...well...like a Champion. Only cycled 1 mag full of 10mm Hornady Custom 155gr jhp through with no feeding problems. Did have the first Hornady round fail to fire. Re-cocked hammer and it went off. Not sure if ammo or gun. Since the Federal went off fine, will just keep an eye on it. Only problem was I could not adjust the rear sight at the range, Bud's in Sevierville. The screws required a larger handle flat blade screwdriver than my trusty old S&W revolver take down tool. At home it adjusted easily though. Will go out to my sportsman's club when it reopens, hopefully soon. Can't stand indoor ranges like Bud's$ Didn't expect this much quality from a 399 1911. Impressed so far. ps: Oh one negative and it is not the Rock: Bud's shooting stalls often deflect handgun ammo cases back into you or the weapon. It did the latter and put nice brass marks on the slide. Will probably just ignore them as it is a working carry gun for "Barrrs" and "Wherewoloves" and the like
  16. Before you invest your retirement savings. Start off with a more modest investment in equipment. See if your product sells at gun shows and by word of mouth. Go from there personally , I would not be attracted to what you describe. Doesn’t mean others will have the same opinion Good Luck
  17. Oh I don’t regret dumping the acp round. Just the 1911 platform
  18. I HATE this thread. After decades of love for the 1911 and 45 acp sold mine off, ammo too. Too old for serious target and got out of reloading, avid steel plinker though. Now this thread has me looking at Bud's for a 9mm 1911. Many thousand of 9mm reloads in my closet. So there goes a grand plus an optic. Gosh darn it!
  19. You might consider doing something completely different. No not an AK. Bolts are still fine machines. Lever actions can be a blast problem with those is you are married to whichever caliber you get Most importantly have fun!
  20. Have assembled and sighted in a couple 350 legends for friends. Owned one from PSA myself. Used same ammo with success. Friends have had success with Hornady 170 as well. So, am unclear on what your concern is? Doesn't sound like you have actually hunted deer with it. There are all kinds of guns capable of taking down deer. With that said the 350 legend is not a long range, beyond 150-200 yard cartridge. The nice thing about the AR platform however is that it is easy to replace the upper, re-utilizing your lower and scope. Do, not own one, but have sighted and shot the 6.5 credemore and it is definitely impressive at ranges above 200 yards. That would however mean going to a rifle chambered for that round. It would seemingly be good on coyotes as well, but have not used for such.
  21. If you are active in Cowboy Shooting, ask someone at one of the shoots It has never been of interest to me, but ORSA did have a quite active Cowboy group If not a member there. Look them up online Oak Ridge Sportsman’s Association and find out who hosts the cowboy matches Hope that gets you somewhere.
  22. Out of curiosity, exactly what front sight and height/number
  23. Just to add, for me within 10 yards a red dot sight gets in the way. Am talking personal defense. For any competitive event or fun plinking, then use a dot
  24. 100% agree on sights not needed within 21 feet. Point and shoot. Ok if your threat is a small rodent then possibly use sights thanks for posting

    Tactical?

Just saw a Ruger Mkiv 22 bull barrel. It was the" tactical "version. Apparently it seems to mean it has a pic rail on top and under the barrel. Too bad the trigger was the usual somewhat rough and gritty type. Also featured a long pull with gobs of over travel. Not badmouthing Ruger. I had the original mk 22 and shot the heck out of it. But had a local smith smooth the trigger and install a screw to allow over travel adjustment. Guess that made it the Mk 1 "tactical" version.
