  1. I am a big fan of the crossbreed. I have one for my glocks (19 and 26) and for my 1911's. The one nice thing about the crossbreed is it comes with instructions on how to remold it if you don't like the retention (and they will also do it for free if you like as part of the lifetime warranty).
  2. If you haven't already check out : FN Forum.NET PS90 FS2000 FN SCAR FiveseveN 5.7x28mm FN Forum.NET :: Index Tons of good info on there. Also call Browning and buy a spare switch ($17) because unless you are extremely careful (according to the forums) you will break the first one. Great gun, I have wanted one for a bit, just can't get myself to pull the trigger on it until I sell at least one of my AR and my Sig 556. And if you decide you don't like it let me know
  3. Mobil-1 or Royal Purple in everything since about 1997. The only issue you have to watch with Royal Purple is to read the label carefully as some of their 5-30/10-30 list for use in pre-2003 vehicles only.
  4. Gunny's in Maryville has/had 20 boxes of Magtech .45 as of yesterday @ 23.99 a box(iirc).
  5. I am surprised that no one has mentioned that is US/UN are still in theory at war with N. Korea since there was never a peace treaty signed, just an armistice agreement (S. Korea did not even sign that). N. Korea also recently stated (May 27th) they no longer consider themselves bound by that cease-fire agreement.
  6. If you are interested and willing to buy used, Gunny's in Maryville has a XD 9 subcompact in for $499 as of yesterday.
  7. I think I misunderstood the first post. If the bullet isn't leaving the barrel that would be a squib round, my guess no powder and only the primer is shooting the bullet. If you have a local gunsmith have him pull a bullet from that box and check if there is powder in the case.
  8. If these were soft points and had an issue, does the issue go away with FMJ rounds? If the FMJ run fine I would say it was the ammo, if they also have issues I would look at the AR.
  9. Won't be able to make it, the little one has a 101 fever so I get to watch him while mama goes to work.
  10. Not sure about their handgun loads, but prvi makes good 5.56 ammo
  11. I think the wife and I may be able to make it with the little one but I will have to run it by her.
  12. Unless something comes up I will be able to make it.
  13. If you are making the drive to NH depending on the route you choose be prepared to put your unloaded pistol in the trunk of your car when passing through MD, NJ and NY. You will be fine in NH as they recognize the TN permit.
  14. When I was stationed there (KWNAS) in 92-96 I was told it isn't illegal to have a beer and carry however, if an officer "sees" the firearm and you are drinking or acting drunk, he can take you into custody for "public safety". It is up to the discretion of the officer. Take that for what it is worth but the advice did come from a Monroe country reserve officer who was a member of our squadron.
  15. My wife has some Case (and Frost) knives that she got from her grandfather. Just wondering if there was anyone in the Knoxville area who could give us an estimate of their value (or lack of). I am not a pocket knife collector and what info I can find on the internet isn't helping alot.
  16. Its about time TN follows FL on this issue. NRA-ILA :: Freedom Restored In Florida! Under the new law, employers and business owners: Cannot search a vehicle for a firearm; Cannot ask an employee whether he/she has a firearm or a Right-to-Carry license; Cannot condition employment on whether an applicant has a Right-to-Carry license; Cannot prohibit a worker from legally keeping a firearm locked in a vehicle; Cannot fire or discriminate against an employee who has a Right-to-Carry license, owns a firearm, stores a firearm locked in a vehicle or uses a firearm lawfully in self-defense; Cannot order a customer to leave a parking lot for having a firearm locked in a vehicle.
  17. Drink of choice either Chopin or Belvedere Vodka over rocks with a splash of Rose's lime.
  18. I know for summer hours they were going to be closed on Wednesday from now until whenever. Not sure why they would have been closed today.
  19. Never had an issue with the metal lip butler mags. The ones with the plastic feed lips however have been problematic in my 10/22.
  20. Glad ya like it!
  21. I have seen them as low as $200 on ar15.com, but those are usually very used, as in seen combat in the desert.
  22. If you ever want to shoot in Maryville or Knoxville or even Sevierville, I have a G19 , CZ P07 and a Kel Tec PF9 you could try out.
  23. Depending on your budget I would also look at the CZ P07 Duty, it has quickly risen to one of my favorite pistols. About the same size as a g19, 16+1 capacity and relatively inexpensive (under 500). If you are not sure, DO NOT pick one up and hold it, that is how I ended up with mine
  24. Picked one up and fondled it today while I was there. It is interesting, I was thinking about getting one for the wife to ease her into the AR-15 style rifle. It feels as heavy as a standard 6920 so I am sure there is zero recoil on this rifle.
  25. As someone who was originally from MD, they only require the gun lock to be provided with the pistol, I think the "safety lock" was actually done for the poor people of MA then the AG of MA decided that glock doesn't have a good enough loaded chamber indicator and banned glocks there anyway. The MD issue for alot of firearms is that they still require the shell casing which caused SIG, Glock and HK to be unavailable in MD for quite awhile.
