Maybe the hipsters will switch to vodka or something more gender neutral. Haha

Yep, got them. They look great! Thank you much!

Can't wait for the ChickenFoot! Should be getting them today. Looks great in the pic!

I have always loved bourbons but never tried to maintain a "library" until recently. I remember being in college before the bourbon boom and seeing Pappy on the shelf. I distinctly remember seeing it, wondering if it was good and then thinking to myself what a dumb name who would buy that? Haha. I've had Pappy 20 and I can see why all the hype. Is it worth aftermarket prices? No, not to me. Is it the best bourbon to hit my lips? Absolutely! Not to say there aren't other excellent bourbons out there, but if there is a bourbon I like more than the sample of Pappy I had, I haven't been able to find it. My dad was able to snag a bottle of the Van Winkle 12 year this past fall at a reasonable price. We are waiting till the birth of my son in April to crack that guy open. :-)

It will sure be nice when this bourbon boom is over. When did it start, like 2012? Any end in sight? In 2012 that EC18 was $35-50...now with the rerelease, MSRP is $120.

I haven't tried that one yet. Will have to put it on the list and wait till I recover from buying that Elijah Craig 18! Yikes!

Couple of my grail bottles. Still looking for Weller 12!!
-
I hit the Elijah Craig jackpot this past Friday. Found a bottle of ECBP and a Bottle of EC18. I feel bad about paying as much as I did for the 18 year...especially knowing that in 2012 it was a $50 bottle of bourbon, but times have changed I guess. Still hunting for Weller 12 year. A shop in town got 2 cases in recently but I wasn't able to make it out there, and according to a buddy of mine who was able to snag a bottle, they weren't very forthright about having it in stock.

I got a bottle of the Jim Beam Single Barrel for Christmas. Just finished it up recently. I surprised me how unlike Jim Beam it was. Have you had the Single Barrel, if so, how does it compare to the Quarter Cask?

We have killed a lot of turkey and set out of our clover plots. Probably not for a new clover plot, but for an established clover plot, you'll want to make sure you cut it down some before turkey season because when the clover gets too tall, they turkeys won't want to be in it. For a clover plot, the best thing to do is : soil sample, adjust pH and fertilize as needed, round up, lightly disc, spread seed, cuktipack.

That is indeed a good deal on a fine pistol. I will echo the above poster's concern regarding the taller sights causing issues drawing from concealment though. I have a 2nd Gen Ruger LCP that I absolutely love.

We should charge double for people like you. ;-)

Well even us veterans still flinch! So don't feel too bad. There are a few things that will help you: Double Stuff ( wear foam earplugs and ear muffs ) not only will this help preserve your hearing, it will lesson the noise and concussion of shooting making it a bit more comfortable. Wear eye protection as well. Properly grip the firearm. Youtube has some great videos to help you properly grip your firearm when shooting. This will help with the recoil and make you more comfortable. You can back down a few notches in caliber. Try shooting a .22lr pistol for a while to get used to trigger and other mechanics involved in shooting. Snap Caps: use these to help practice dry firing. This will also help you with your shooting mechanics. Shoot more :)

Been seeing Old Scout get some good reviews...have you had any of their other expressions? How do they compare?
-
You'll love it. i know someone who has the Knight series and it works great.

The small bottle will have the age statement on the back of the bottle. The new small bottles have this 12 year removed. The big bottle I got had the big red 12 on the front. That's of course while it lasts.
-
So Elijah Craig has now officially removed their 12 year age statement on their small batch bourbon. It will now be a small batch blend of 8-12 year bourbons. The bad news is the EC12 that we all know and love for the money is going away...the slightly good news is that i'd image we would see a bump in ECBP availability. I snagged a 1.75 of EC12 to hang on to for as long as I can stand it! RIP EC12...you will be missed!

Good info. Years ago I fished with a guy who would buy these ChickenFoot lures. I've always tried to find them but a little googling and apparently they aren't made like this anymore....can you make a ChickenFoot that looks like this?
-
Exactly where is the search being conducted in Pinson?I have some land out there.
-
They also had another shipment of Stagg Jr. right next to it. I already have. Bottle and a half of it so I didn't buy more. Question, and I'm sure the answer is somewhere in this 45+ page thread...does Weller 12 release in regular intervals? If so, when do I need to ramp up my search? Thanks.
-
That makes me feel better! :-) I've never seen it on the shelf before so i figured i should snag it to add to the library. Now I'm on the lookout for Weller 12 and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof

I paid $49.99 for the Elmer.
-
I found some Elmer T. Lee yesterday that I knowingly overpaid for. I live too far away for the Mike hookup unfortunately!

Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof has been getting some excellent reviews. LiqourHound on YouTube, (this guy is a master and his library is second to none) put it in his 2 American Whiskey/Bourbons for 2015. He did a seperate review comparing some of the features of this bottle to GTStagg and others. So that sold me. Can't wait to try it. Would love to hear from others if they have tried it as well.
