    Glock 48?

I switched from the Shield to the 43x.

    Glock 48?

Alternatively, she can shoot a 43x if you have an easier time finding one of those. The frame of the 43x is the same as the 48. Only difference between the two is slide length. The 48 will have a little longer slide and I’d imagine slightly less snapieness.
  3. Well at least this gives me some finality to my issue with Guns N More. I "won" their Logo Contest they held in the classifieds a year or two ago. Supposed to have received a stripped lower and a 22lr rifle for the winning logo. They actually decided to pick 2 of the logos I sent. One for their lower and another for general merchandise and letterheads I believe. Communication was pretty decent for a while. They kept telling me they were waiting for approval to manufacture and then they just fell off the deep end. Sure sucks. At least I don't have to worry any longer about them using my intellectual property since they are out of business.
  4. Throwing this out there....I have Aimpoints, EoTech's, Leupolds, Trijicons.....The Sig Romeo 5 has really impessed me. I have an astigmatism, so I always see the "starburst" but for whatever reason, the Romeo 5 I see the clearest of them all. It also includes 2 mounts, and a lifetime guarantee...they can be had for around $120ish. I've hard great things about the Primary Arms so they are worth a look as well.
  5. Sign of the times unfortunately......it was recently (prior to the Florida shooting and trump talking about an AWB) those lowers were $29.99 limit 5! Now they show $39.99 limit 1.
  6. Registered! Confirmation e-mail came straight through to my gmail.
  7. I haven't posted much because my hunts have been fairly uneventful. I also haven't been able to get out as much as I usually do because I have to work weekends through deer season this year!! Anyways, I made it out there today and it was the most I've ever hunted in a single day ever! With the exception of only 2 hrs for a lunch and potty break...I hunted 30 mins before sunrise to 30 mins after sunset! So I certainly did my part. The deer didn't do theirs....there was a lot of rutting activity in the morning, saw some nice bucks, but I was doe hunting, and a doe never presented a shot. Later on that evening, I only saw a spike. Where have all the doe gone?!?! We have also seen an unprecedented amount of buttons and spikes this year. Not sure whats up with that. I guess i'm glad we have young bucks that will become old bucks, but I want a few doe!
  8. I have one for my 700 SPS Tactical 308. I really like it. The ability to adjust LOP and the cheek comb height (i had to order the higher comb kit) make it really great to fit the rifle to you. I think its probably the better value in stocks out there for what you get. I bought this really thin foam pad from hobby lobby that sticks on to stuff. I cut it to fit and attached it to the cheek comb, really made a big difference in comfort. I also use the detachable mag.

    Toolcraft BCG

Yeah they are good to go.
  10. Ruger! Man! Excellent work. That was way better than I was expecting. Haha. Seriously, the production value and content I thought was really good. So, can't wait to see more and see you get a deer down too! Good job man. As for me and my hunting this year....since I'm being made to work weekens I won't be able to get out as much as I normally would. I have hunted twice so far. We cleared out an area underneath a powerline on our property. It's about 300-350 yards in length total. I saw 3 small doe at 200 yards and that's been it! Also had some neirbors dogs run down my section of the powerline too. That wasn't fun. :-( i also found a spot on our property that looked very "deerish" so I put up a game camera and haven't told anybody. :-) Turns out there was evidence of an old deer stand right where I set my camera up. So may be a pretty good spot. We shall see!
  11. I seem to have been able to avoid most the ticks and chiggers, its the freakin wasps and bees that cause me grief up in the stand! There always seems to be some bug that looks like a something out of the movie Alien that likes to hover in your vicinity sounding like a Huey helicopter. Hate those things.
  12. Unfortunately I don't think my Great Dane will fall for this. He HATES baths, and a 150lb dog that thinks he's about to die if he gets a bath is not fun to deal with. The goober loves swimming. I don't get it.
  13. Its not a good idea. Turkeys are tough birds and the head/neck is very small target. You'll want a massive amount of lead headed his way to increase your odds of an ethical kill. If you use a .410, you will drastically cut your effective range and risk wounding the bird. 20 gauge can be used effectively but again, you'll limit your range. 12 gauge is what most people use and for good reason. There are plenty of cheap 12 gauges out there though.
  14. Slappy, excellent thread as always! I look forward to your posts and unparalleled wisdom! Unfortunately I will not be sitting in a stand opening morning. I have to work and it's also my wife's birthday but I'll try to get out there with the bow next week!
  15. Ok time for our annual officially unofficial deer season thread! Archery Season opens this Saturday, September 23rd! Statewide bag limit on antlered deer is 2. Antelered deer are defined as visible antlers (not including button bucks). I think last year a spike with antlers less than 2" was considered an antlerless deer but that has now, changed. Good luck everyone. Be safe, wear your Saftey harness or dont climb and 3 points of contact when you do. Now sound off!
  16. I cut the cord with Uverse. That was a satisfying phone conversation to make when I finally made up my mind that I've had it with paying $180/month! It was an adjustment at first. But after a few weeks of cold turkey tv watching, I'm much better off and get to keep more of my money every month.
  17. Ok I stand corrected there. Thank you However....that's some shady stuff.
  18. Oh and by using equifaxes free credit monitoring service (because they've proven to be reliable right?) in the fine print you wave your right to sue them in the forthcoming class action lawsuit. Whats messed up is they have all our info and our kids info. We never gave it to them, they just have it. We have no say so at all.
  19. Dave Ramsey's wife got her identity stolen as a result of the equifax breach and they haven't used any form of credit in over 30 years. In fact her credit score is undeterminable. Im glad I used his recommendation for Identity Theft Protection and signed my family up through Zander Insurance. It's not if your crap gets stolen, it's when.
  20. Post up some pics when you get it setup!
  21. There are advantages to hang on's with sticks. You can hang them in some nasty (and crooked) trees offering great concealment. They are also easy for one person to carry to a tree, if you are on a lease or some public land where you are not allowed permanent stands. Also the sky is the limit with these stands as well, as long as you have enough sticks. They have their limitations as well, such as comfort, and they are harder to get in and out of for sure.
  22. Those are neat! I like how simple they are. No bolts, screws or washers. i can't wait till the season opens. I still got work to do though!
  23. Youll have a nice setup for sure! Weight matters when you are trying to hang it or tear it down. Also matters if you have to backpack your stand and sticks in frequently. But....once it's up, the more comfortable you are in your stand, the longer you'll be able to hunt. I am working on relocating my Millenium currently. So here's a story about how dumb I am. Connected to Lifeline. Climed sticks up to the stand. Disconnected the straps to the stand and lowered it down. Started to climb down and disconnect the first (highest) stick and realized my Lifeline was still connected to the tree....and because I already took the stand off, there's no way I could reach it! So I had to take my blanket and go home. I've got some other sticks that I can attach to climb up high enough to retrieve my Lifeline but ran out of time! Doh!!
  24. Have a Millennium Monser hang on and use Muddy Sticks. I haven't seen a pic of the hawk sticks, but from what you described they sound like the Muddy sticks that don't alternate steps but have them on both sides of the stick. That makes it easier when you are up there hanging around and installing the stand. Go ahead and factor in some sort of bow/gear holder arm as well as screw in hook where you can take the weight of the stand off you when you pull it up by a rope. Also buy a Hunter's Saftey System Lifeline rope as well. You'll be safe from falling from the moment your foot leaves the ground and all the way up.
  25. Well, doesn't sound like it can get any worse! That's some really messed up encouragement there. Haha Good luck man! This will be the year!
