  1. I don't see ammo calming down at all. By the time it should come readily available it will be 2014 and in 2014 are the midterm elections. If we lose our house majority...it won't be pretty.
  2. Well this isnt much of an "inside" workbench but it isnt ugly either! Now if I was only handy enough to use it to its maximum potential...
  3. Good luck.  I had to use channel locks to get mine off.
  4. LOL! Love this thread. Glock lunch boxes would cause a lot of strokes carrying it around. I wish I had the guts (or stupidity) to irk people like that. Imagine how many lunches you could carry in a rifle case! That would be good for catering!
  5. Wow, the curtain airbags went off too. That was entertaining, at his expense, to say the least! :-)
  6. lol
  7. That can be a difficult balance because you arnt out there all the time and if you piss them off they can vandalize your property. But, it's your property and they need to know that. You need to post it with a sign that says No trespassing , hunting fishing etc... And have your name written on the sign. Place them every 100 yards. You can also use Forrestry Paint to mark your line in between signs, that stuff lasts like 8 years. Then when you see your neighbors, be friendly and introduce yourself.
  8. My FIL purchased an MVP recently and I helped him sight it in.  That is one sweet rifle.  The trigger was awesome! We only shot out to 100 yards but the accuracy was very good.  The benefit of the MVP compared to some other .223 bolt actions is it shoots 5.56 as well.
  9. Big Hill Pond has a beautiful lake and hiking trails. I go every year with college buddies and we always have a blast.
  10. I use a Polaris Ranger 900 but its more for work out at the farm than play. Also have an old (1996) Honda Foreman 4x4 that is darn near bullet proof! I ride at family farms.
  11. Craigslist has people posting frequently about leases. You may not see a whole lot now that the season is over though.
  12. Nice!  Thanks for the link.  I just sent in my comments.
  13. So we are less than 3 months away from turkey season. A friendly reminder to break out the calls ahead of time and start practicing! Last year I waited till about 3 days before season opener to get some calls and it was not a pleasent experience. Both my wife and my dog arnt too thrilled about my turkey calling practice though. I may have to limit most of my practice on the commute to and from work. Haha So take inventory and keep ticks at bay by spray your clothing with a permethrin solution! Also, I am thinking about getting some snake boots and am needing some help justifying the purchase. Has anyone ever been struck while turkey hunting?
  14. Dang!
  15. Other than, "that's hunting", a big reason why deer stop moving during the day so much and start moving more at night is due to hunting pressure on your property, someone else's close to you, or both. It may be time to reevaluate where and when you hunt, how you hunt the wind, how you get in and out of your stand and the best kept secret in hunting....establishing sanctuaries.
  16. We have all been there buddy and when I think I have the perfect setup that doesn't produce, I say that to myself too (with the laugh of course).
  17. Well thats why they call it hunting! Sorry you didn't come away with a deer but you did come away with a lot more knowledge for next year!
  18. Good looking deer you got there.
  19. Just found some decent .22lr ammo in stock at not inflated prices. Probably wont last long. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Federal-Champion-22-LR-Ammunition-with-Ammo-Can/1214791.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DFederal%2BChAmpion%2B.22%26x%3D14%26y%3D11%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=Federal+ChAmpion+.22&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
  20. Thats good!  I did the SAME thing earlier in the year with 22lr ammo.  I was a groomsman in a wedding in SOUTH Alabama.  I stopped at every Walmart Along the way and would buy 1 or 2 Bricks there, 3 or so boxes of CCI stuff that was in stock.  Right now, I am glad I did that!  One of my better decisions.  :)
  21. Thanks for posting Sam.  I just renewed.
  22. Oh I forgot to say its not an electric keypad, it's the standard dial.
  23. Hey fellas. I hope y'all can help me out with a recommendation for my situation. I want to purchase a gun safe that is owned by a family member of mine. It is a RedHead safe from BassPro. The door is open on it but they have lost the combination. They say its in the "unlocked position" whatever that means if its even true. Anyways, so I need a locksmith who can quote me a price for a new combination on it. I am in Memphis. Thanks!
  24.   That sounds good!  and I am glad yall are putting a blind like that together!
  25. Yeah I dont know what SSS means either.  I agree of trying to report it first and contact the Warden.  We spend a lot of time, effort and money to fuel the passion we have for the outdoors.  We eliminate the predators on our property to increase our prey.  Don't get caught though or they may burn your place down or vandalize your property.
