Lucky Brand Jeans. They look good and feel almost like pajamas. Should run about $50. I always get them from Steinmart but I’m sure places like Kohl’s or TJ Max and the like may have them too.

Yeah I get that for sure. But I’m at 160% return on Tesla right now. And Tesla wasn’t added to the S&P here until recently. But ARK had ETF’s that had it. I had ARKK for a bit but sold it to put more directly into TSLA. While a great ETF, I’m glad I made that move.

I was about 3 months “late” to the game with TSLA...once I realized Tesla was legit and the mainstream finance guys hadn’t caught on yet, I had a limited time to get all the shares I could, which wasn’t much given the stock price and my income but I managed to get 7 shares before the split announcement. The first share I bought was $814 pre split. And that stung. $814 would go a longer way with a cheaper stock right? But I held to my convictions and the future outlook of this company. Fast forward to today, I’ve continued to add to my shares as I can. Just incredible to see my first share was $814 pre split and now after the split the shares are above what I paid pre split. Tesla is NOT a car company it’s a technology company and now the mainstream is catching on. Is it overvalued? Heck yes!! But so was amazon from day 1. Tesla is not for the value investing crowd, it’s stock price has and will continue to be traded off of the future potential of the company. I’m hoping for another split in 2021-2022! I’ve also killed it in WKHS, first 100 shares I bought at $2.48. I see a lot of growth coming in the EV Space. Who knows what will happen in the coming years, but as evidenced by history, the market always comes back and usually faster than anyone could imagine. I’d guess a conservative investment strategy would be to have something like a total market index or S&P index. Throw in a few growth stocks and also keep some cash reserves to take advantage of any dips/crashes. in my opinion, there will always be good stocks to buy regardless of who’s president and any policies signed into law. I believe companies will adapt. May be harder to find now than they were over the last few years, but they will be out there. Also make sure you are taking advantage of tax advantages retirement accounts... 401k, ROTH 401k, ROTH IRA’s etc Also, Bitcoin has my attention. I understand the risks and I’ll never “invest” what I’m not willing to lose. I do think it has some advantages to it and I’d treat this as a hedge in my portfolio. Not trying to strike it rich by any means with it. I also would not be laundering money or trying to shield any gains from the government.

Dave, 80% of Financial guys are taught to sell. You need to find that 20% who actually teach. If you meet with a guy and you walk out not knowing more than when you came in, that’s a sure sign to not use them. A good finance guy will teach you investing and different options to consider and then you’ll have the knowledge to tell him what you want done with YOUR money. Your ROI will be the main indicator of how well your investments are doing and make sure you factor in your risk tolerance. The less risky you are the lower your ROI will be. The more aggressive, the more volatile your account will be but will offer the potential of high returns. Lastly, as a good benchmark, I’d compare your returns with the S&P 500 to give you an idea of where you stand relative to the returns of the 500 best companies in America. The total average return on the stock market from beginning to today is around 12%. S&P 500 index funds typically around 8-10%. My personal return right now is at 120% since March.
-
I started back in March. Everything was so artificially low that you could have thrown a dart on a stock wall and make money off that investment. I’ve learned a lot over these last several months. Wish I knew more, but at the end of the day nobody knows how a stock will actually behave. My big winnners so far have been TSLA, WKHS and PLNHF. I’ve owned several other stocks but I sold out of them, most times after making profit, to buy more TSLA.

I’m not an antivaxer and this vaccine concerns me. We’ve NEVER had a successful coronavirus vaccine. This is also the first vaccine that alters your DNA. Apparently it’s only good for a few months and it’s a 2 step vaccine. Maybe it’s safe. I hope so. A lot of brilliant minds have been on this but the only thing they can’t factor into their research is time. Who knows what’s the long term consequences of this vaccine will be? Also if you have side effects, or long term consequences you can’t sue the vaccine manufacturer...same is true for all of them. I’m skeptical.

Checking in with you Steel...how’d you do today? We are still praying!

I am praying for you Steel. Hang in there. May not happen on your timeline but you’ll get better soon! Sometimes covid is Two steps forward and one step back!

Yes we did. It was beautiful! River wasn’t too crowded either so was very enjoyable. I wanted to find the tunnel. I thought we’d see it from the river but finding out now that we saw the back side of what I wanted to see and would have to have hiked to see the other side of it. So Ill know for next time!

Well, I'm from Memphis..so anytime we can escape here is worth of being called a vacation, lol. Been so drained from doing the daily covid grind of working, watching kids while working, and being unable to do much. Wife and a couple friends of ours took Friday off and loaded up the Kayaks and drove out to an Air BNB around Kingsdon Springs. It was so refreshing! Thats a beautiful little area even though it takes 20 minutes to get on I-40 when as the crow flies its only a mile away haha. Drove by Royal Range...what a spectacle that place is! Friday night we ate at Tupelo Honey...fantastic meal. Saturday we floated the Harpeth River. Water was up, so there were a few rapids and the river was fast flowing and clear. Saturday night we ate at Husk. What a foodgasm that place is! I've eaten at the Husk in Charleston and was so happy it came to Nashville! Really refreshing 3 day vacation without kids...thank you parents for watching these wild creations! Now back to the grind tomorrow!

I'd put a low powered scope on it. Something like a 4x, 2-7x or at most a 3-9x. With a 30-30, ballistically, anything more than that would be far out perform the round you are firing. I have red dots on my AR's and anything over 100 yards just "feels" far even with my fairly young eyes. You also need to look cool when you are hunting, and a scope on a 30-30 just seems right.

I survived the virus! Tested positive 2 weeks going after hanging out with family members from out of town. 70% of us all got the virus as a result and nobody was symptomatic at the time of transmission. Two of the 3 that didn't get the virus had the virus earlier this year before it was popular....so, my thoughts...yes, this is super highly transferable. More so than the flu. Secondly, for the two that didn't get it, its more anecdotal evidence that once you have this, you do build up some immunities to it (antibodies and/or T-Cells). Thirdly, kids get it but they don't even skip a beat. Mild fever, maybe a cough but they had no idea they were sick, certainly didn't act like it in the least!! Overall, it was like a mild flu and throw in lack of taste/smell as well. Definitely not something we should shut the economy down again for. I've not had any symptoms for 5 days now and I'm glad this is all behind us for now. No more panicking about 'what if we get this?!' Its a very freeing feeling. My dad also got this, and he's a cancer patient having recently gotten off chemo....so we had some risk factors and managed just fine. I realize some arent so lucky but in our case, it was no big deal at all. In fact, most of the colds I've had in my life have been far worse. Take Vitamin C, Zinc, get some sun (D), and Magnesium. Would masks have helped reduce transmission and/or contraction of the virus? Maybe. I'll never know though. Lastly, all our doctors said take Tylenol if you need to and if you get bad go to the hospital....gee thanks doctors. So, if you do get this, find a doctor who doesn't subscribe to the mainstream treatment of do nothing but go to the hospital if you get bad. There are certainly medications out there that can help this out but are being silenced. Good luck guys! Edit: seeing Ronalds post below makes me feel I should clarify that I'm not advising anyone to take this lightly. One of my really good friends if a Pulmonary Critical Care doctor literally treating the worst of these patients right now and we speak frequently. So I'm aware of how serious it can be...just as the flu kills many people every year but we are used to the flu, and there are medications/vaccines that help so we all just don't care like we do with this new stuff going around. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more paranoid that I was with this since I was following this back in October/November when it broke out in China. I'm simply sharing my experience with it.

Late to the game but I have a Ruger Rimfire and my dad has an older Savage FVSR. Ruger is definitely the way to go IMO. Fit and finish are better and the magazines are higher quality. The Savages magazines split over time. Maybe they have fixed that in the newer models but it still wouldn’t sway me that way.

Is pulling your boat to the lake, non-essential??
Slappy replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Another component to all this is getting food is an essential activity. That includes fishing! I won’t be able to go this weekend but will try next weekend. I have family land with a nice lake on it and we have to pull out 400lbs of bass under 13” to keep it balanced. My only thing is all my fishing equipment is at our farm so if I get pulled over it might be tough to explain. Lol -
Hate to be “that guy” if this doesn’t apply to you, I’m sure it will to someone else...are you out of debt? Do you have 3-6 months worth of expensives saved up in an emergency fund? For most of us, these things should take priority over a new firearm purchase. If you are in good shape then awesome! Buy night vision!

Red Dot on Handgun with a Suppressor?
Slappy replied to billyblazes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Don’t be worried about messing up a slide. People cut these with CNC machines all the time. Get a Glock, send the slide off for cut and sight install, throw the optic on there and run it like a scalded dog! You’ll love it. -
Red Dot on Handgun with a Suppressor?
Slappy replied to billyblazes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I purchased a RMR Type 1 that was on a close out when the Type 2’s were releasing. The Type 1’s had issues with flickering due to battery connectivity. I fought these same issues but there are several easy fixes you could make to make it 100% reliable. These things should have worked right from the get go but I decided to save the money buying the older model and tinker with it myself and I’ve been very pleased. So, I’d get a type 2. There are a few options with the type 2 to choose from. Adjustable LED, Automatically adjusting LED and then a battery free version that uses fiber optic and tritium. Then you just select the MOA Dot Size, color, mounting options etc. I personally would buy the User Adjustable LED because I shoot under NODs occasionally and like the ability to know the dot is at a safe NV level. I’m not sure if the automaticcly adjusting one would work or not for that purpose. I also have used the battery free version and still prefer the LED model because occasionally it’s hard to see the dot even with the tritium. The tritium has a half life so it’s always dimming. I’m also unsure if there would be issues seeing the dot when using a pistol light, if the fiber optic will be able to use the available pistol light to the point the dot doesn’t get washed out or not. May be a non issue but I haven’t experimented with it yet. -

Red Dot on Handgun with a Suppressor?

$320 (but used Instagram coupon code and paid $272) from Boogeyman Customs! He’s gained quite the following since I had my slide milled so not sure what he is charging now but it’ll be on his website. I got the LLorona Elite cut, RMR optic cut had it Cerakoted MultiCam Black and turned out GREAT. I’ve had at least 4 other friends send their slides to him and everyone has been thrilled. https://www.boogeymancustoms.com -
Red Dot on Handgun with a Suppressor?
Slappy replied to billyblazes's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Also not a fan of MOS. I had a Glock slide milled out and put a RMR on it and I shoot suppressed. No issues seeing the dot as it’s well clear of the suppressor. Only issue I can say I’ve had with this setup is the RMR gets very dirty due to using the suppressor. Go ahead and buy suppressor height sights and when you send your slide off they can install the sites for you at the same time. -
Harvester Question
Slappy replied to Just_the_facts_maam's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Yes it’s ok to have two muzzle brakes. The brake/adapter attached to the rifle will actually help serve as extra baffles inside the suppressor taking a bit of stress off the suppressor’s blast baffles themselves. You won’t feel any reduduction in recoil using the brake versus using a flash hider or direct threading the suppressor to the rifle in my experience. Another benefit of using the brake is the recoil reduction when shooting unsuppressed especially on a 300wm. The suppressor itself does a fantastic job reducing recoil. The brake on the end of the suppressor even further reduces recoil however to a much lesser extent than the suppressor itself. -

Got one on the run a year or two ago out at our farm. I’ve nearly broken my legs stepping in their holes before while walking to the deer stand in the early morning.

My church had a very similar situation. Long story short they told him we was not to come back until after he received intensive counseling of which the church would pay for. I haven’t seen him since but he was very very disturbed and it made everyone uncomfortable.

Give Zander Insurance a call. It’s who Dave Ramsey recommends. I was exclusively with State Farm (family friend agent) at all the minimum liability coverages. No accidents....I called Zander and was able to max out all my coverages and add a $1m umbrella policy AND save a couple hundred a year. Incredible. Insurance brokers definitely the way to go. And if you go with zander, they reshop your insurance every year to make sure you keep paying the best price. They only work with insurance companies they have properly vetted so you’ll get a quality product no matter who you end up getting coverage with.
