1. Shaun broke the ice for us fellas! Time for us to follow suit!
2. I hit the turkey woods today here in West Tennessee.  Like others, lots of wind, rain and cold temperatures.  That doesn't stop the turkeys so it doesn't stop me either! That being said...when conditions are terrible, the best chance you will have is to already have them patterned because you wont be able to located them or call them in more likely than not.  Unfortunately for me, the property I hunted is new to me so I didnt have them patterned.   We did se 5 total turkeys, all gobblers, but they never were within shooting range.  Hopefully this cool weather gets ou t of here soon and gives us some strong turkey conditions!
3. You gotta pay for perfection!
4. YOU......SUCK!   There, thats feels better.  My love affair with you started with my love of fishing back when I was around 10.  Then Bass Pro awed me for life when I visited their Branson Missouri store.  It was absolute heaven!  At such a young age I was very impressionable and you took fool (not a misspelling) advantage of me.   When I got to college and had to write about anything I wanted to for English 101, I chose you, Bass Pro Shops!  But alas, over the years our relationship has taken a turn for the worse.  You have failed to keep up your end of the relationship.  I used to be ok paying your inflated prices (around 10% or so) over your competitors because of the additional value you provide.  Now paying that extra 10% seems more like a tax than anything else.    So why do you suck so hard?  Glad you asked!  I worked retail management for 2 years of my professional career and in my young career I quickly learned that if I did not have product I was going to be held accountable.  If we were going to have a sale, I better stock up ahead of time and if I was going to make a promise...I better keep it.     Last year you had some deer stands on sale.  In fact, you advertised this sale both in your circular as well as website and in store.  I bet you knew months ahead of time that you would be having this sale but when I went in to buy said deer stand...yall were out.  When I asked how many yall sold before I got there, you said 2.   :squint:   So this sale lasts another week...can I get a raincheck?  No you say. Can you transfer one from another store? "If they have some in stock, maybe". Not really making me feel like a valued customer here but an inconvenience!     Last year, one of your customers (not sales associate) sold me on some blunt tips for my bow and arrow.  I was so excited to try these out until I realize that yet again...you have dropped the ball.  You were out of stock (not surprising) on the 100gr blunt tips.  It just so happened that one of your patrons placed some 125gr in place of the 100gr blunt tips.  No problem, I understand you can miss scanning something that is out of stock due to someone else covering it up.  So like the good friend I am, I re-arranged the items to reflect you were indeed out of stock on the 100gr tips.   1 week later (and 2 truck deliveries) you are still out of stock and there is no sticker that says you noticed you were out of stock and had ordered some and when I can expect it.  2 weeks later and 2 additional truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no stick.  3 weeks later and 2 more truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no sticker.  4 weeks later and 2 more truck deliveries, no blunt tips and no sticker.  5 weeks later, bow season has long passed, no blunt tips BUT you had the sticker!  Thank you so much for your attention to detail!  The sticker then read, which I understand is not likely your fault, that they wont be delivered for another few weeks.       Fast forward to this year.  I thought about writing you a letter to let you know when turkey season would be here and to let you know, that you can expect increased sales in certain items.  You know, the last 3 years I have gone to buy new calls and such, not only to find them out of stock, but never back in stock until after the season...blunt tips ringing a bell?   So by my estimates, you are currently out of stock on approximately 35% of your mouth calls.     Did you forget this happened last year?  Did you not know turkey season was coming up?  Are these items perishable and therefore you cannot overstock yourself prior to the season? Did the season just sneak up on you too fast?    So yesterday, I want to go buy some turkey shells.  Hmmm, I bet myself $20 that you are out of stock on what I want!  Well the good news is I am $20 richer now because you are PREDICTIVELY AND CONSISTENTLY OUT OF STOCK ON THE ITEMS I WANT!   I have tried and tried to love you again...But alas, you have proven that the only turkey out there, is you.  Good riddance.
5. In Memphis and I havent seen a thing.  Just lots and lots of water.  But they have already issued a State of Emergency for Shelby County and closed all the schools.
6. I will probably be buying some sort of beard oil here soon.

He eats 8 cups per day!! Best dog I have ever had though!
8. Would agree with you normally. But I am also seeing dandruff and broken whiskers on my shirt. We can't have that broken whiskers now can we?
9. So I'm going to be "that guy" and bump this thread back up.  Spots, did you ever purchase the beard oil?  How has it been working out for you?  I grew my first beard in college probably around 7 or 8 years ago.  Then I got a job where beards were frowned upon and was clean shaven for a couple years.  Once I quite that job (best decision ever, don't ever work for anyone who doesn't like a beard but I digress) I grew it back after I started my next one.  I, for the last 3 years have had a "professional" job so I didn't want to go all mountain man.  I recently have taken a new position with an office job with the rail road here and since I don't have any client contact and its a freaking logistics rail road job, I have started to let my beard grown free!  I don't expect to be Duck Dynasty or anything but definitely, longer than I have ever grown before.     So, I have found that my beard has started to grow OUT and get sorta puffy/scraggly.  It looks pretty good right after I get out of the shower (Chuck Norris like but shorter) after conditioning it, but I guess it dries out throughout the day (or i play with it too much) and starts to go all crazy on me.  I figure at some point, gravity will take effect and it wont be able to grow "out" but am wondering if beard oil will help soften it and keep it moisturized and less crazy looking?
10. 2 of our top guys die in the same room and no foul play is suspected? Only thing that would make sense to me is Carbon Monoxide poisoning. I hope they rest in peace and I appreciate their service.
11.     I guess a more correct term for me to use would have been "friendS" haha
12.   Width of the space is around 70" and the depth of the workbench is 28".     The thing I really like best about it that is hard to tell from the pics is that the work surface extends a few inches out past the bottom shelf.  That way you can have your stomach right up at the workbench without bashing your shins.
13. I made these shelves: I made (with a lot of help from a buddy) this workbench:
14. Glad you like it man! You are very welcome, but please, don't take pics of you playing with your pen in the tub. Thanks...
15. The Random Number Generator has spoken!  Rugerla1 PM sent!  Thanks guys.
16. I am going to draw the winner earlier than I anticipated.  Will draw Monday or Tuesday.  Bump to the top.
17. Not what I was expecting.... Haha
18. haha, thanks Wiljo.  I really beat myself up over this, but yalls encouragement has helped me to realize that I still did pretty good, better than most hopefully.
19.   So does that mean you want to be entered? ;-)
20.   He is doing pretty well!  He went today to the doc to take a look at his laceration and they removed his drain (had a drain hooked up to his head to drain excess fluid as it heals) and the doc said everything looked great.  Gets his staples removed next week.  He got 37!  Tomorrow he goes to the Orthopedic Doc to determine if he needs surgery to fix his arm.  I pray he doesn't!  I have a pic of his head after the staples if yall are interested, but probably wouldn't be a good idea to just post up on the internet for everyone, haha.
21.   I read that because of the complexity of the air filters, the graphite that flakes off from a pencil could be potentially dangerous.  So we Americans designed a pen!
22. I really need to pull out my mouth calls soon.  Problem is that the noise gives my dogs a panic attack so I am limited to practicing in my car on the way to work.  :)
23.   He is really doing well considering.  It looks like his arm wont even need surgery but we wont know for sure until tomorrow.  He got 37 staples in his head!  Yikes!!  No concussion, no skull fracture or anything.  God was very gracious.
24. Dave, Luke, Ruger and other participants of this thread, yall visit the General Chat section and enter yourself into my giveaway.
25. A generous TGO Member unbeknownst to me gifted me with a Benefactor Membership. I have previously had benefactor memberships, but let my membership expire when things started getting tight. Whoever gifted this to me, I do not know why you did this, but I want you to know that I greatly appreciate it and that it was very kind of you to do so! In honor of this member's generosity, I would like to continue to pay it forward to other members of this forum. I am giving away a New In Box, Fisher Bullet Space Pen. This is a fantastic pen and excellent for Everyday Carry. When closed, it is only a few inches long and when open, it is nearly a full sized pen. It will write in any direction and on almost anything as well. A quick story regarding this pen. One of my good buddies this weekend had an accident on a Polairs where he managed to roll it over, break his arm and suffer an 11" complex laceration to his scalp. His skull was visible. After I got him to the hospital, I pulled out my own Fisher Bullet Space Pen and recorded his mother's telephone number on my arm. I was afraid that if I used my phone, it might get lost in cyberspace and since it was extremely important that I retain this number, I wrote it on my arm. It worked great! This pen is small enough that I actually keep it in my wallet. Rules: Everyone is welcome to participate but you must at least be a member at the time of this post. Post in this thread that you would like to be included in this giveaway. Benefactors and moderators will get two entries. I will draw a name via random number generator probably around Monday. When I draw the winner, I will PM you. Respond within 72 hours and include your address. If you don't respond, i will redraw a winner. Then enjoy your Space Pen! Regards, Slappy This is a picture of the actual pen I will be sending:
