1. I agree with the above. My plan is to use a compound bow for as long as my body holds up. Then I will switch to crossbow.
2.   I know exactly what thats like!  I get all excited pointing out deer to my wife, she wont even look up half the time.  She's like, why do you get all excited EVERY time....they all look the same!  I'm like, why do you get excited about jewelry...it all looks the same!     I also know that come Bow Season, those deer will be a heck of a lot harder to find!
3. Each year on July 4th, I pull out the bow and shoot the dust off of it. Its a good time for us all to start to building back our bow muscles and check our equipment to make sure they are in good order. Since last season I have found a few spots I'd like to place a bow stand, keeping in consideration ingress/egress and wind direction. If you are a seasoned Gun Hunter, getting a bow will put the fun back in tagging a doe! Who else is getting fired up?
4. Well did you get your Shield or did they just haul you off to the Decatur Co. Clink?  :-)
5. I'll give it my final attempt for bird number 2 tomorrow morning. Birds have not been cooperating for me lately!
6. Whiskey, SAME thing happend with me.  Gobbling their heads off.  I probably heard 150 gobbles today but never had one come out into the field I at least was hunting in.  Saw 5 hens.  3 hens came to my decoys and farted around for 2 hours, yep...2 hours at my decoys.  Not ONE gobbler showed up.  They didnt respond much to my calling either which was surprising given how active they were.  Oh well, I always learn something!   On a side note.  I had an adult Fox come up behind me and stand next to me at about 10 years.  I could have spit on the thing!  He never knew I was there.  I already put my gun off safe in case he ran out to my decoys but when he saw them, he stared at them for a few seconds and then turned around and ran off.   That was so awesome.  I love the woods.
7. I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow morning as well.  Good luck fellas!
8. Thanks for the info CQB.
9. lol, throw a rock in any direction and go enjoy the bbq!    My two favorites are Central BBQ and The Germantown Commissary.  Other honorable mentions...Interstate BBQ, Rendezvous, Corky's.
10.   Any time frame you have to do this in?  Like is it 4 birds in one year?
11. What is the criteria for a Grand Slam?
12. Sorry, I was saying that in jest probably could have made myself more clear!
13. I like the LG101 probably the best but the TR4 looks good too.  I'd like to know the price as well so I am tentatively in!  And if I get the option.  I guess I'll take #50.  Makes sure all the kinks are worked out with the first 49...
14. I would probably be interested.  Guess it depends on if they would be cheaper than a microtech or not.  :-)
15. A victory pipe to boot!  Love it whiskey!
16. Thats true.  Didn't really think about changing shot size.  Yeah I have seen great reviews on the Long Beard XR's.
17. I picked up some Long Beard XR's this year.  If you saw my "I hate bass pro shops" thread, the ammo they didnt have was the 3" #5's so instead i got the 3.5" #5's.  I just have a stock turkey choke with the benelli but feel like I may need to choke it down a little tighter one day.  I have only shot it out to 30 and it did well.
18. What shells do you shoot?
19. Very cool!
20. Love that hero shot! Nice bird
21. The two most effective forms of birth control are condoms and crocs! Actually a friend of mine gave me a pair. I take them hunting and hiking with me. Feels great to kick off the boots and put those things on.
22. Bagged a good one this morning! He was the only turkey all morning to respond to calling. I took it very easy on the calling since they were not very vocal. I hit the mouth call bout 8am and this guy hammered off behind me. Few minutes later he was in full strut in front of me bout 25 yards. The second he came out of strut....BOOM...let the Bennelli sing! I dont have a scale so I cant say how much it weighs but the beard is 9 1/4" inch and the spurs were 1 1/4"

24. At your rate I'm sure you will have those filled by noon tomorrow. Haha
25. Anyone giving it a go this weekend? I'll be out in the woods tomorrow early morning. I have been on a very unlucky streak for quite some time.
