Firearms confiscation. How would it go down?
mcurrier replied to timcar86's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
No one said that it was going to happen, they just asked "how" it could happen. I offered a plausible explanation/scenario. -

I guess I wasn't clear enough in my implication of "UN" helmet color, I'll try to be more careful in the future. -

Did I say American military? I was thinking more of a blue-ish color. -

Like this: Shut down of electric and water supplies (Fed has been attempting to take control of both from states and local municipalities). Shut down of fuel supply. No fuel, no re-supply. Grocery stores would be empty in 1 day. After 3-5 days people would be getting desperate and panic would set in. Govt. "food trucks" would start coming through neighborhoods and demand trade of guns for food and water. Most people with wives and children would give up their weapons under pressure, no matter what they may say now. A few weeks of this and most guns would have been confiscated. After that, guns and possession of guns would be declared illegal and anyone seen/caught with one would be executed immediately. Incentives would be given to those who rat out friends/family with guns. Very easily done. Anyone see a problem with this? -
Or for getting Bin Laden. 0bama didn't do that. Our military and intelligence people did that after several long years of hard work. Dishonorable Disclosures - 22 min. long, but very informative:

It was all over the news (surprisingly) and the Dems were just outright proudly admitting that is what they did. 2008 was the first time conservatives ever tried doing it in any sort of organized manner, started by Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" to hopefully boost Hillary Clinton in the Democrat primary over the walking race-card of inexperience named Barack 0bama who voted "present" more than he ever voted Yay or Nay combined. It almost worked, but then something suddenly happened and the Clinton's backed down. I'm guessing the same mysterious thing happened to Chief Justice John Roberts just before the 0bamaCare decision.

Wow! I have to assume that you are just joking...otherwise I'd have to say - "Got Kool-Aid?" You do know that it's possible to o.d. on that stuff?!?!

And a HUGE factor that you forgot to mention was Democrats/liberals crossing over during the primary polls to force the worst choice upon us. That is what has been the deciding factor of which candidate we get saddled with for several elections in the past 30 years. The Dems/libs play dirty. We need to have closed primaries to eliminate that manipulation.
-
The non-democrat candidate has been chosen by liberals and the media several times over the past 20 years. You think McCain was the choice of most people? He was the easiest to beat by obama, the "old white guy", the "continuation of bush" as described iby the so-called unbiased media. Dems couldn't compete if they went up against who the people would really choose without being manipulated and conned.

Nashville Armory going to be on newschannel5 today
mcurrier replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
Agreed. Visiting anything over one time a month on average and the membership is the better deal. -
Yeah, the kid (and the wife) got on my nerves. Making the 'bad guys' out to be "militia" was intentional in my opinion to paint TEA Party type people as evil oppressors by association because they believe in "guns and bibles". A lot of subtle/subliminal suggestions of liberal thinking. I see the main character girl as a liberal who doesn't wish to inflict harm on anyone even at peril of her own life.

Not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing... the fact of what I stated remains however. -

Yup. Individual memberships are slightly more than one visit per month would cost. http://nashvillearmory.com/memberships.php -
That's a LOT of shooting that would have had to happen for all loaded ammo to have been expended...multiple times as you suggest... Nowhere near it, I could write pages. I've been waiting for someone else to, but...it's really not that important... That would have to be a LOT of disbelief suspension going on. The electricity thing, no big deal, that's not unbelievable at all, but so much more ranges from inaccurate to just pure b.s. I watched the first episode to confirm my suspicions, it was much worse than I thought it would be. Gullible people may even be mislead into thinking that a SHTF situation of the magnitude portrayed in this tv show might not be so bad. A much more realistic portrayal would be - After Armageddon Part 1/5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maL9RUoG5fc I originally saw this on the web (youtube?) as a single piece, but I can only find the 5-part version on YouTube. This is MUCH more accurate as compared to the tv show REVOLUTION, however this video focuses on a few month period after SHTF, not 15 years later like the REVOLUTION tv show which skips a lot (although they intend to "explain" a lot using flashbacks throughout the series). Perhaps they can explain how everyone looks like models, with designer clothes, perfect hair all the time, never thinking about food (it must be a given that it's just there!). I could go on and on. It also has somewhat of a lefty liberal slant in certain aspects. Just my 48¢.

Audio guys, I need a microphone recommendation

Good point! Forgot to mention that. Similar to camera flash duration, it goes by a lot faster than you would think. We're talking milliseconds. -

Sure SM-57 Part of the problem may also be that you need to set the recording level to manual on whatever device you are recording to. Auto-level will mess with the level if you are trying to record the 'difference' of sound between two (or more) shots. Locking the level at a single setting for all shots recorded will allow the difference to be heard between shots (as long as all parameters remain the same - e.g. microphone position, recording level set the same, etc.). -
