http://en.wikipedia..../Josh_Sugarmann Josh Sugarmann is the executive director and founder of the Violence Policy Center ... and was the communications director for the National Coalition to Ban Handguns. Some credit Sugarmann for coining the term "assault weapon"... Sugarmann uses the term because he argues that a semi-automatic rifle is capable of rapid fire that makes it almost as lethal as a fully automatic firearm such as assault rifles.

“The Guardian Plan - Armed Teachers in Texas Schools
mcurrier replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
“Would my policy have stopped this?†Thweatt asked. “Nobody knows for sure or for 100 percent, but what we do know is that active shooters go where there is no one there to resist. The Guardian Plan addresses that fact.†-
Stop school shootings by letting teachers fire back, say Texas officials Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/18/stop-school-shootings-by-letting-teachers-fire-back-say-texas-officials/#ixzz2FQpqA9Wr “We’re 18 miles and 30 minutes from the nearest police station," Thweatt said. "So we are our first responders. If something happened here, we would have to protect our children. You know, police officers are true, everyday heroes in my book, but one of them once told me something very revealing. He said, ‘Ninety-five percent of the time, we get to the scene late.’ I can’t afford to let that happen.†"Thweatt said there have been no incidents since October 2007, when his district adopted the plan giving an unspecified number of teachers and school staff -- dubbed "Guardians" -- authority to carry concealed weapons on school premises. Participating staff are anonymous and known only to Thweatt and the school board, which must approve each application for an employee to become a Guardian. They receive a small stipend annually."

You may wish to consider the BurrisEliminator II series of scopes (Nikon has a similar scope). These scopes find the range and calculate the shot wih a single press of a button. Prices are $799, 999 and $1599. I would paste a link to it on OpticsPlanet, but my tablet won,t let me.

That's exactly what I was thinking when the fire engine showed up.

Just like insured drivers pay the price for the actions of uninsured drivers. The law abiding will always pay the price for the irresponsible, reckless and criminal.

I love it when the media catalogs brand names with guns. Why don't they ever do that when someone is killed with a evil knife, axe, brick, or rope? I want to make sure that I don't purchase the same brand of evil rope.

Boehner calls for flags to be lowered to half-mast and twitter goes nuts with anti-gunner vitriol. You wouldn't believe the comments. Well...maybe you would. http://twitter.com/SpeakerBoehner/statuses/279674241979400192

Agreed. I have long feared that schools will be the next horrific terrorist attack. We are NOT prepared for the emotional horror if that happens. It will be truly terrifying. I pray that God prevents that from ever happening. Not to say that this incident was not horrific or terrorism, it clearly is that.

Problem is, these cowards always kill themselves first.

Many of us have come to these conclusions based on life experience and remembering what happens in elections, politics and societal settings going back beyond 10 years. Most people have very short memories. These things did not come from any manifesto, nor are they rhetoric. They are very real problems and are only the tip of the iceberg of liberal subliminal mind conditioning. Many schools have dummed people down, taught them what to think, not how to think, and gradually changed society for the worse. There are few that have not, but those are the exception, not the norm. Values have decreased. Morals and ethics have decreased all across society. The battle is in people's minds, and the left is winning by any means possible.

Exactly right.

And even that may not be good these days. I don't know the newspaper technical terms (masthead, etc.), but as I recall, news articles used to have printed by the date what city the incident took place in or where the writer was reporting from. I find myself many times these days trying to figure out where a story is taking place because that info seems to be missing nowadays, especially on web articles.

There are a finite amount of hand gestures, so one form could have several meanings. You anti-"tinfoil" guys are going to be the downfall of yourselves and a lot of people by constantly discounting everything that anyone points out as being something to possibly be concerned about. Why are you guys so accepting of everything as "harmless"? When does something cross the line with you guys or start to concern you? Maybe we all should check with you guys before posting anything to make sure that it's not too crazy. People are not crying wolf or saying that xyz is absolutely positively verifiably true, but many posts on here pointing out a possible relationship to past history which may be cause for concern are so easily dismissed by many of you as being "tin foil", that when some of it turns out to be true...well...you and others will be caught by surprise.
