Americans Will Never Surrender Their Second Amendment Rights http://www.westernjournalism.com/americans-will-never-surrender-their-second-amendment-rights/ "Cowards and traitors exist now as in Adams’ day; cowards willing to surrender their weapons to a tyrannical state and traitors willing to surrender the rights of other Americans. But the rest of us will overcome these individuals and resist the efforts of a corrupt government to enslave the American public by refusing to obey any law which further intrudes on our Second Amendment rights. Be it a ban on ownership or attempt at outright confiscation, the duty of Americans will be to fight, not comply."

Let's ignore the real problem and just blame guns. -

I didn't see anyone dragged off for threatening to klLL Romney or threatening to klLL head of NRA and NRA members. Apparently the dragging off only works one way.
Latest reports indicate he used a Bushmaster.... After all a Remington or Benelli just would not have done. If you truly want to kill people, only a Bushmaster will do. We need a new journalist's guide chart to Bushmaster weapons.

Map: Where are the gun permits in your neighborhood?
mcurrier replied to zapfbroad's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I view their actions as tantamount to shouting "fire" in a crowded movie theater. The information may have been public record, but they are highly irresponsible in publishing it, potentially criminally so if it causes harm to anyone directly or indirectly. -
I dont know Dolomite. I dont feel it would last very long before you'd start seeing news casts of people fighting back. The British thought they had a legal right to disarm us as well. They learned first hand what that got them. They would attempt to keep it low key though. But I dont feel it would be very low key for very long. If this is the approach they choose to take, it will by all means, be a nasty one, and will get ugly.
Media blackouts and internet disruptions, not to mention so-called 'news' anchors/reporters reading pre-wriiten scripts, will pretty much takecare of that. I mean, that stuff works in China, Egypt, Iran, etc., to keep the populace in the dark doesn't it ? Short term anyhow. That, all they'd need if things went according to plan. I've always liked monkey wrenches myself though.
This is what worries and scares me. When or if this happens, this is what it will be like. The Evil doers will hid behind the law and send good men and women after good men and women. In the end, is there really a way out of all this? It seems at some point we will all be "criminals" in the eyes of the Government. If not this time, then the next time gun control comes up, or the next time.
As I've said in the past, whether it be military, police or whoever, it will be by compartmentalization that they will keep those who are sent out to do the actual dirty work in the dark while thinking that they are following orders and doing their part against a larger and perhaps unspecified threat as told to them by their higher ranking 'superiors'.
Why? How does it strengthen the argument? Criminals do ignore those laws.
Exactly. Or to put it another way, laws do not apply to criminals. Laws only apply to people intent on obeying them, thus by definition, to 'law abiding' citizens. Laws can not and never have stopped crime. They can not. They only exist to punish criminals, but we have even let that slip far too much. A law will never stop a crime.

The order of govt., like the forward progressing order of the universe, is chaos, not actual order. It is a self-preserving entity like The Blob. Its only concern is to eat and grow, like the Borg, to assimilate everything in its path. It does not consider itself to exist for the benefit of others, but that others exist for its benefit. Perhapss SkyNet became conscious well before 1997. The Founding Fathers foresaw the inevitability of the bloated growth of the behemoth called govt. and made provision in multiple ways to restrain this monster's growth, to keep it reigned in, and a "break glass in case of emergency" button called the 2nd Amendment in case the self-destruct sequence accidentally or intentionally became activated. The question will be, do the Citizens of the United States of America possess the fortitude to break the glass if and when the time should come?

When is it going to be OK to sale mags, ammo, and ARs for the going rate?
mcurrier replied to swim615's topic in General Chat
Not looking for credit for predicting bans or anything for that matter, just wish some of you would lay off the 'tin foil' accusations when anyone with a reasonable amount of information can clearly see what is going on while others deny it and label people as not being reasonable. I will however pre-emptively declare my 'I told you so' now 7-8 years in advance (maybe less) so that when it all comes to a conclusion I will know that I got my virtual jab in, as it will most likely not be possible to post it anywhere due to lack of existence of any internet. ;) -

mcurrier replied to swim615's topic in General Chat
Some people however have the educated foresight to see these things coming based on a complex combination of past history, current political and emotional climate, current trends in crime, existing laws, and the agenda that many in politics have and the laws that those people actually want to foist upon us. It didn't take a school shooting for some of us to see the path we were headed down. Some who've been awakened by the school shooting may think that we are suddenly on a different path than we were on 10 days ago, but we are not. It is the same path, they just now see what path that is. Some are still asleep and still do not see, until something else big happens and more of our rights are dissolved and 10 years down the road they wonder what happened. Some of us have been awake for the entire scary ride, so we are not surprised at where we currently are. The shooting merely gave opportunity to those with an agenda to play the cards that they've been holding on to for quite a while. The timing is strangely very timely for the anti's though. -
Three Reasons Gun Control Isn't Going to Happen

History of gun control is cautionary tale for those seeking regulations after Conn. shooting http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/history-of-gun-control-is-cautionary-tale-for-those-who-want-more-regulations/2012/12/22/73a07294-4afc-11e2-a6a6-aabac85e8036_print.html -
Not to mention that AR (Armalite Rifle) rifles are like Lego's. They are infinitely configurable to the individual user's tastes and preferences. As a funny/not-so-funny aside to what I just said - SWAT Team Takes Down Man Armed With LEGO Gun http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2009/12/swat-team-takes-down-man-armed-with-lego-gun/ http://www.brickgun.com/Index.html "...working in a downtown office on Friday when the replica gun made from LEGO that he’d ordered from online retailer BrickGun arrived." "He assembled the model and later closed his office door for a conference call and that’s when someone who could see in his window from a neighboring building called police to report lone man sitting in an office with a gun. The SWAT Team was dispatched and the incident ended with the man cuffed against a wall while six officers armed with assault rifles and shotguns secured the LEGO."
