But change seems to keep coming every day... and not for the better.

The truth is usually very funny. Scary, but funny.

DeMint Introduces “Term Limits for All
mcurrier replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Amen! -
I'd say it's more of a duty, right and privilege, not obligation (in the negative sense). The only obligation we have is to pay taxes (not in the positive sense).

Constitutional Law Text book and 2nd Amendment

Agreed. Take the classes and graduate as a sleeper agent for our side. They are pumping out liberal lawyers at a ratio of 99:1 to conservative lawyers. -
Don't worry, Jihad Joe will learn her when she gets home.

Absolutely, I agree!

I'm surprised that you can even get in the TGO site considering their censorship of the internet over there.

Tennessee Representative Health Care Votes

Cooper is a sack of I call and write him every day for past three years. I can't wait to get rid of this guy. He just ignores his constituents. -
True dat.

They made a Sarah Palin crack tonight.

It's what I like to call "liberal guilt". They rely too much on their feelings about things. Both how they perceive things are in the world and how things externally affect them. When they were a child someone told them that cutting down a tree to build a home or make paper was bad. No one ever explained to them that those trees are replenished. They think that all carbon dioxide is bad, but they must have missed science class where they would have learned that trees breath carbon dioxide like humans breath oxygen. Trees 'exhale' what we breath and we exhale what they breath (4-5% CO2). What a concept! Only a higher omnipotent power (GOD) could have come up with something so complex and yet so simple. They think that everyone in the world is starving and if you eat one less hamburger, there will somehow magically be an extra hamburger for someone else 8,000 miles away to eat. They think that using one square of toilet paper will save the world. They think that you working hard to make a living and then coming home to relax in the cool air-conditioned comfort of your home is evil. News flash - God gave man technology to better himself and to live a more blessed and comfortable life. I call the Toyota Prius the "liberal guilt mobile". If I see one coming down the road, you can bet that 9 times out of 10 there is an Obama sticker on it. Liberal guilt. It is not 'saving' the planet any more than not eating is. I do know a conservative/republican who drives one, but he does not have it to 'save' the planet. He just liked the way it looked and it fits in his very tiny garage. My own car gets 33.5 mph on the highway (real word driving, not what the sticker on the window said), and it's not any fancy schmancy hybrid or anything like that. Hey liberals! Where do you think the majority of U.S. electricity comes from? COAL! May we have your elite permission to build any nuclear power plants? No? Then I guess we'll keep using coal. The U.S. is the Saudi Arabia of coal. Why did so many white people (I wasn't the one counting, they were) vote for Obama? Liberal guilt. By the same token we could ask why so many black people voted for Obama (and still give him very high ratings compared to whites overall and the whites who originally voted for him). Is that racism? Seems so, in one direction more than the other. But we were always told that it was the other way around. I could go on and on for many pages how the liberal kooks think that everything we have and do is destroying the planet. If they feel so guilty, I say that we give them an island somewhere and they can all go there and revert themselves back to the stone age if they'd like. We'll check back in 30 years (or not) and see how they like it. What will they build shelters with? What will they use for fuel to cook with? These are interesting questions. But liberals need to understand that they are not going to put their feelings of guilt on the rest of us and try to force us to live like they think we should. Otherwise turnabout is fair play and we'll kick their doors in and forcefully cram bibles down their throats. That's the difference between us and them, we say live and let live, they say do it our way or else. That's tolerance for you. More like hypocrisy. Ever notice how many of them who propose to tell us what to do and how to live don't actually do that themselves? Al_gore anyone? No, they say do as I say, not as I do because they think that they know better. They don't. The majority of us know what is better for ourselves than a minority of them trying to use government to force their will upon us. And that is about to end thanks to Obama. Just like Jimmy Carter brought us Ronald Reagan, Obama is bringing a backlash of change in this country that will get it headed in the right direction like it hasn't gone in a long time after his short reign is over. Who will be leading us? I don't have a name right now, but just as Obama is Jimmy Carter II, this next person will be Ronald Reagan II. I CAN'T WAIT to see what happens in 2010 and 2012!

a. Where is this Utopia that you came from? b. Why on earth did you leave it and come here? c. Did the magic genie pay for all of that? Someone had to. Did the money come from the magic money tree? Unless other countries sent the money there, free of charge, then the money must have come internally. Now where/who does one get money from within their own borders? Citizens? d. What is keeping you here? Honestly. There must be something good about America that outweighs all of the bad we are told about. I want to know what that golden nugget is so I can appreciate it.

Just to clarify, those are NOT run by the Federal Government. Neither state govt. You've got to go a little lower and closer to the people. Sounds like...local govt. I suppose it's possible that Obama could be a direct descendant of Jesus.

Dude! I have 18 Macs and I am as far from liberal as the east is from the west.

Sorry my analogy wasn't worded to your liking, but I try to oversimplify things to the lowest common denominator. Jefferson had a Koran, but I wouldn't be reporting him as a potential terrorist. Point being, BIG difference in what Bush was doing vs. what Obama is trying to do. I'll even oblige you by saying a. one not so good and b. one very, very bad. Now I leave it to you to place those two labels on Bush and Obama as you see fit and then we will more clearly understand your position.

Uh-oh! Obama's Kenyan Birth Certificate?
mcurrier replied to E4 No More's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
and...it sounds like he's implying...that if we tried it we'd maybe like it? Not sure what his point was then. Sounded to me as if he were saying that unless we had lived under socialism ourselves then we were unqualified to recognize it. You don't have to see a skunk to recognize one is nearby. -
No. He's on a stick. I feel sorry for the poor stick.
-
Yeah...that evil George Bush! Not even closely the same thing. Big difference between reporting possible terrorist activity (seeing a couple guys with bombs strapped to themselves and rocket launchers climbing a fence near the airport) vs. reporting that your neighbor does not like Obama's health care proposal and is informing his friends and neighbors of the problems with it using 'facts'. One is a potential deadly issue, the other is a freedom of speech vs. disagreeing with The Leader issue.

Not expecting one. I've sent him hundreds of emails over the years and never even gotten an automated canned response like I get from Cooper and Corker. It's more to let him know that we are watching and know what he is doing and that we intend to get rid of him. That's all.
-
No doubt about it. Whatsoever. I had emailed him over 100 times just in the past ten days, using multiple website contact forms and every note was uniquely written, not just a bunch of redundant copy and paste stuff. I also call his office daily, but they take the phone off the hook most of the time. ------ Here's what I just sent - Mr Alexander, You simply do not represent me. That is not my opinion, but a fact of evidence proven by your actions. I would safely bet that the majority of your constituents (i.e. voters, employers, bosses) desired that you reject Sotomayor and vote NO for confirmation, yet you willfully ignore us and vote the opposite of what we would have you do. We are now actively seeking your replacement. This is not a wish. You WILL BE REPLACED upon your next election, which I don't think can come soon enough. You will obviously continue to ignore us as you have proven, so enjoy what's left of your short remaining balance of time as a Senator who is supposed to be representing the citizens of Tennessee. ------ Now is the time that we start finding people for replacements. It's time to clean house out there people! These "representatives" are NOT representing.

+1,000,000 on every one of your points. When I was a kid I hated all politicians and considered them all liars. About 20 years ago I started enjoying politics and getting into it. Now I hate all politicians again and consider them all to be liars.

All that the Declaration of Independence , the Constitution and the Bill of Rights guarantee anyone is the right to the pursuit of happiness, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms (individually and against a tyrannical government), equal treatment as a human being (no discrimination, etc.) and so forth. The PRIMARY ROLE of government is to "provide for the common defense" (i.e. against aggression from without our sovereign borders to those living within our sovereign borders). You do NOT have a "right" to: Food Health Care Clothing Toys A Car A TV Cable TV A Cell Phone Owning A House etc. etc. etc. If you can work and create your own wealth faster than you create your own debt, then you have the right to purchase these things using your excess money. Otherwise, you will spend your time working as many Americans do, simply to be able to provide the basics necessary to sustain life for you and your family (food, clothing, shelter). It is no one else's responsibility or duty to provide these things for you. In our free society, those who have done very well for themselves may, at their own discretion, set up charitable foundations to assist those who may not be as fortunate. Philanthropy has long existed in America, but it is voluntary. It can not be forced upon it's citizens. Otherwise it is forced redistribution of one person's successful gain (which represents that persons hard work) to another person of lesser means (perhaps by their lesser work or what-have-you). When FDR started involving government in the seed of socialism in America, he put our government on a very wrong path, and many people follow him yet today, unfortunately in the wrong direction. FDR would rather have us give a man a fish, rather than teach a man to fish. Government has never, ever, ever been able to run anything well. Military is a governments primary role. Private sector runs everything else much better. -------- Here's a quicky lesson on government for a few folks - Whenever you see the word 'government', in it's simplest terms it means "the people" (we, us, all of us collectively). For we are the ones that government derives it's authority, representation and the resources with which to do things. A government of the people, by the people and for the people... Take this conversation for example: Who is going to pay for x? Oh, the 'government' will! Translate = Oh, the people (we, us) will! Money doesn't magically appear from this "government". Every penny that the "government" spends on anything increases the amount that every citizen has to put in - excluding those who only receive and never put in. And therein lies the problem. Eventually you get to the point where those who keep working hard and putting in get tired of it and envious of those who don't work, never put in and only receive. Those working hard then decide one day that they no longer want to work hard and put in, but they want to take it easy and receive like the others. You get to a tipping point where you eventually will have more people taking it easy and receiving than working hard and putting in. This creates a major disincentive for those working hard and putting in, thus when you pass the 50% mark (maybe way sooner), the numbers of those who want to just take it easy and receive will increase at an exponential rate. So...what do you do when 100% of the people want to take it easy and only receive? Where is the magical 'government' that will provide for all of these people? Is it a genie? A leprechaun? The numbers just don't work out. Anyone over 4 years old can see this.
