President Obama's Nobel Prize Remarks
mcurrier replied to BigPoppa's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Actually, that's the kind of "screw up" I like. Unlike Obama, Kerry and Jesse Jackson, Ronald Reagan only spoke out of one side of his mouth. He said the same things when he knew people were listening as he did when he thought no one was listening. That's why the Russians knew that Reagan meant what he said and that they had better listen up. Unlike the others who have a record of having to back peddle and offer insincere "apologies" for getting busted saying what they really felt when they thought that no one was listening, because the rest of the time they were saying something else in public. They are wieners and the world knows that they are wieners in reality. When you are in a war, the goal is victory, not a tie. It IS our way or nothing. I guess you'd have our soldiers holding hands with the enemy while singing Kumbayah? That last sentence is punctuated with a question-mark, which means that I am asking, not stating. So don't get all worked up and say that I am accusing you of anything. Just trying to pre-emptively defuse that. I do find your thinking on that a bit naive though. How many of us thought for sure that we'd be attacked again sometime after 9/11? 99.9%? George Bush did an excellent job of protecting this nation and it's citizens, which is the PRIMARY job of both the President and Government. You are either with us or against us, there is no other side of the line. It's one or the other. The line is a sharp razor, you can NOT straddle it. -
President Obama's Nobel Prize Remarks

This quote from Smith explains that pretty well - The General asks for 60,000, Obammy sends (or promises to, as no one has gone anywhere yet) 30,000. Now if the General had thought he needed 110,000, he would have asked for 110,000. Generals don't ask for 60,000 in the hopes of getting 30,000. They ask for what they need. Obammy is doing ALL troops a dis-service by further endangering their lives by only partially fulfilling the necessary troop level. Second-guessing your generals when you have never even held a job at McDonald's is not a good thing. He's playing with people's lives. -

Yup. And he's already been campaigning for 2012 since Nov. 5, 2008. This will be the longest Presidential campaign in history, breaking the record of the last one for the 2008 election. Only this time, instead of having $800 million in funny 'contributions' to use, he's got a huge portion of $700 BILLION from TARP that is unaccounted for. Just saving it up for the right time. -

I got a duplicate at the same time of getting my original. $5 I don't think that there is technically a limit of how many duplicates you can have. I wanted an extra to keep in my vehicle in case something happened to the one on my person.

Exactly. One does not need to go to law school to be a lawyer. You can apprentice in a law firm for several years and then take the bar exam (if they sponsor you). You do not need to go to an actual 'school of law'. -

As a professional photographer (20+ years. 10 years completely digital this month), and spending hours per day on photography forums, I wouldn't touch this question with a 10-foot pole. Ask 1,000 people and you will get 1,000 answers, all about what they would get for reasons pertaining to themselves. Forget Canon/Nikon, Mac/PC, who got who's chocolate in who's peanut butter. The first thing that you need to ask yourself is what type of things you will want to shoot with it. THAT will determine what you should get. Costco has two different Canon kits and two different Nikon kits in stores right now. Pricing is all very similar. I wouldn't worry (i.e. even think about) about making any coin with this "hobby" for a very, very long time. Sure, her soccer mom friends will think her pics are cute, but paying customers aren't so complimentary or polite, they expect serious results when laying out $. Of course there is a new demographic of customer who thinks that "good enough" is fine, as long as it's "cheap enough". It's amazing the crap photography that I see some people tolerate for the sake of saving a few bucks. The problem is that they don't know any better, they can't see the difference and no amount of explaining it to them will get them to understand. So, yes, actually there is a pretty big market for crap photography.

Vegas is the only place to see Phantom anymore. Anywhere else, it's just not up to par. The Phantom theater is as much a part of the show as the show is.

Was the "11" accompanied by a dollar $ign? or just a number by itself?

LOL. Didn't think of that, but upon further examination...that's true. Can't stand looking at the original version, I get very nauseous.

Very admirable sticking to your convictions, however I don't think that anyone here misunderstands or disagrees with you. They are just giving you advice to keep you in the game. You are dealing with the liberal mindset. Facts do not sway them. And you can already tell a lot about the 'professor' just from the textbook that they selected. His higher ups are not going to be inclined to take your side in a grading dispute, it's all subjective (and it's all liberal). They most likely have the same opinions and agenda that the professor will have. Never argue with an idiot (liberal), they will beat you to death with experience. Liberals have infiltrated and over saturated the institutions of "higher" learning for almost a century now. Textbooks, especially History, have been whitewashed of the truth and bent towards the liberal agenda for a very long time. K through 12 and college. If you want to go to a law school that will not have a biased liberal agenda, might I recommend Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA or Regent University in Virginia Beach. Other than those two, you are going to be butting heads with professors regarding opinion. Keep in mind that you are not going to law school to learn the law, they don't teach that there. They teach procedure and thought process, angles of attack and defense, not specific black and white rules of law (which are ever changing). Two different law professors can teach constitutional law like they were from two different planets. A LOT of what you will get in law school is the professor's opinion, formed from their life experiences and outlook. Many students can not stay sanitized until after having graduated law school where they can then start to form their own opinions and draw their own conclusions, but are molded during their three years of constant indoctrination. It's like being a double agent if you want to escape law school with your own mind.
