  1. I have read that you can shot .410 shells in the 45/70. Anyone tried?
  2. I have always thought a lever gun would be a good tactical rifle. I saw a write up in guns and ammo about the 45/70,the preformance was something else. I have a SS Marlin 45/70.
  3. I went today.Didn't need much but did pick up a little ammo and a few ammo cans. After the show went to Halls and got a few pairs of BDUs they have on sale then stopped by Gander Mt and got my digi camo 10/22 out of lay a way. Really good show.
  4. I will be there. I am going to have about 10 two tone monkeys fist with me if anyone is interested.
  5. Well let me make it clear that I have no wish to harm or see them harmed myself.I have no doubt that there will be some nut case try to take them out. Obama's wife has said that she is worried about it.
  6. I am sick about all this. Its going to be a vote for the lesser of 2 evils again.I too do not believe Hillery or Obama bin bomba lama or whatever his name is will not make it past 3 months if elected. With this said I want to make it clear that I am not against either of them because they happen to be black or female,I would vote for Condoleezza Rice or Colin Powell in the blink of an eye.
  7. I did not notice who was working the table but there was a table full of AR parts.
  8. I just got back. This show sucked! I did not see even one decent deal on a gun.I did get a good deal on a benchmade 31,I was late to that table as some other guys I know got some great deals on some CRKs and customs from him.Everything else was high as a cats back.Maybe it will be better tomorrow but I am not going back.
  9. I am going tomorrow.Might try to trade my Sig 232. Anyone else going Friday?
  10. Still haven't figured out what they are trying to sell.
  11. Has anyone gotten a private message from and woman with a link to a website that has a peace sign and links to buddhist websights? Not sure how to take it.
  12. They check to be sure no loaded guns are brought in. You can not carry a loaded firearm in.Its all about safety,if they allowed people to carry their EDC weapons in without being checked it would be very easy for some idiot to draw his EDC to show someone and that person shoot somebody thinking the gun is unloaded.I have carried mine in without getting it checked but never took it out and was never seen by anyone.
  13. The last two I went to at the expo where very small, they only had about half the space as normal.
  14. How you doing? I didn't see you there today. You did some knife trading with my son a couple times. That makes his day. I went with the intent to trade my 50th annv. Mark ll and Marlin 22 mag to a dealer even for a SS bull barrel Mark lll.Low and behold I ended up selling the 50th annv and buying a LNIB Mark lll from someone walking around for the same as I sold the other for. It was a good day.
  15. The only shows I have ever been to in knoxville that charged for parking was when they used to have them at the worlds fair park, hated those.
  16. Look to buy from a private collector either at a table or walking around, many times you will get a better price. The dealers are all normal prices but with all in one place it cuts down on the running around to check prices. The show at the expo and at Jabobs are by the same outfit.I have noticed something as of late. The expo was a much better show a year or so ago but the last 4 I went too(2 at Jacobs and 2 at the expo)the ones at the Jacobs building were much bigger and better.Funny how stuff like that flops around. I just hope it isn't one of the ones that has everything but a gun.I went to one early in the year at Jacobs and it had everything from grill sets to cell phones.Even had a whole row of some flea market guy with boxes full of that China import crap that had nothing to do with a gun show.I called and complained about that one, from what the lady said I wasn't the only one. I am heading up about 8 am,give me a shout and we can meet up. CELL 865-548-4462

    Jobs

I have been with Pepsi for 12 years but my plant is moving and it will be a 100 mile round trip for me now. Anyone know of any good jobs around the Oak Ridge-West Knoxville area? I am trying to get on as a corrections officer at the Sheriffs dept and have applied at Loomis Fargo.
  18. I think I will try to make it over. Thanks
  19. When Coal Creek first opened it was not bad,but the last couple times I have been there I got the same feeling as you.The only person I have ever been able to talk to is Tamara. A guy I work with has shot there a couple times and he talked about it being to dark. BTW heres Tamara's web site. http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/
  20. I went out with David to shoot his and it shot right with my Kimber.
  21. Hello David, I am new here too.So I guess I should say hello to everyone while I am saying hello to you. My name is Jeff and I am into Guns, knives, fishing, hunting and gadgets. I am a member of several gun and knife forums and go by the user name u812 or J Smith on most of them. I also live one street up from David. David, got the coffee on,come on up.
  22. Thats my thought as well. As far as stopping a crime by brandishing a firearm,it depends on the situation .In the 8 years I have had my permit there was one time I think I stopped a robbery by showing my pistol. The family and I where in Knoxville and stopped in at the gas station just above Walker Springs Wal Mart. The wife went in to get a soda.I noticed 4 latins standing outside, one went in and walked around came back outside, then another went in looked around and came back out. Both of these guys did this within 2 min. Then another went in,by this time my wife was coming out and said the man inside asked if we would stick around,I said yep done noticed that. The 3 rd guy that went in was not looking for anything but seemed to be waiting, the guys outside seemed to be very interested in watching him in the store.I got out of the van and was about 25 ft from where the guys where standing outside.I raised my shirt and "adjusted" my Kimber making sure it was seen. They motioned to the guy inside and took off walking down the road. The attendant saw all this too, waved and gave me a thumbs up. That showed me real quick that carrying even if not drawn can be very effective.
