  1. This would be a first for me, but not for other dealers. The dealer who sold them isn't going to want to refund the money, so I doubt they will be sent back. The guy will probably want me to sell them for him. Here's where it gets tricky. Because he'll want me to sell them to his momma, uncle, home boy or whatever. And that ain't happening because that's automatically a suspect straw purchase.
  2. I strongly suspect you are exactly right. Yes, I could probably get them. Although you would be surprised at how hard HiPoints are to get. What I am told is they are popular with pawn shops. In Philly they buy them for like $100 and sell them for like $300. And no, I aint got no esstenders for them.
  3. Story of the week. I get a call Mon or so from a dealer in TX. Says a customer wants to use me as a transfer dealer. OK. Who is it? He gives a name. I've never heard of this guy. I have no idea who he is. He's never called me or email me. What guns are they? Two 9mm pistols. That should have me suspicious right there. Lack of specifics=probably bad news. OK, I fax my ffl. Today they arrive. Matching 9mm Hi Points. So I call the guy who sounds like he's just woken up. I tell him who I am and the guns are here. OK. Where are you located? I tell him. Don't people look this stuff up?? He'll call me and tell me when he can come in and get them. Anyone this stupid and disorganized has about an 80% chance of flunking the background check. That's when the fun will begin.
  4. Heritage gunsmithing.
  5. You know, you sound real conservative. Sorta like a rightwinger... +1 on all of it. Abortion is an especially contentious issue. I go back and forth about it as public policy. A downside not often discussed is the idea that it fosters a "life is disposable" mentality in society. Incidentally all of that would have been standard fare on a Democratic Party platform c.1950.
  6. Guy, it was funny. Chill out.
  7. That's possible. If they go all out and declare an individual right subject to strict scrutiny of all legislation then I'd be surprised to see more than a majority. I'd be surprised to see that much. We can always hope though.
  8. There's always room for improvement. But be careful what you wish for. A strong 3rd party candidate could throw the election to the House of Representatives. It's happened.
  9. So that's actually even better because there was some vetting process going on.
  10. Heller will be the last decision announced. It is the biggest one for a lot of reasons. So end of month I think.
  11. It's Nastyville Tennisshoe, btw. BUt you're joking. Nashville doesn't have nearly the level of corruption that Memphis does. Taxes are lower here. I would walk around North Nashville, and have. I wouldn't do that in a lot of Memphis. Compare the respective crime rates and economic statistics. There is a reason Nashville ranks on top. It was always this way. A cousin of mine had a chain of drug stores both here and in Memphis. He said Memphis was a much poorer market while in Nashville you could sell more expensive goods. He attributed that to the presence of the state capitol and the higher salaries by state workers.
  12. You're joking. Look at Zimbabwe. Inflation running 3m percent a year. Food rationed and given out as political favors. Police state. They would pay to go to Memphis. Now compared to other places in the state Memfrica is a **** hole.
  13. You're right, it is custodies. My career in classics is a distant memory now. How embarassing. And if I had posted that another forum member was a dick I would get a warning. Rightfully so.
  14. Quis custodientes custodiet?
  15. We put up with it because the alternatives stink. Take a look at a real parliamentary system, like Israel. You have never seen as much horse trading and whoremonging going on as right after an election and parties are trying to cobble together a winning coalition.
  16. It's an ironic comment on the excitement the city provides. When I first heard it 20+ years ago it was really ironic. On Sundays almost nothing was open except Kroger's. Today it's different as there is much more to do.
  17. I basically have that hanging on my wall for sale. I didnt realize it was now "retro." I expected a real full blown retro AR, with triangular handguards, no forward assist and 3 prong flash hider. I thought it would be cool to build one of those.
  18. Welcome. From your screen name I take it your last gun was a Glock. I'm kidding, really.
  19. Cockroach. Cockroach is also a funny word. I generally don't like Worldnet daily but this was funny.
  20. I often get customers who wonder what I'm keeping in the back of the shop. The kind of "good stuff" that only the best customers get to see and buy. So in the spirit of democracy I am opening my back room to TGO so everyone can see what I keep back there. No seriously. This was Charlton Heston's gun room. Nice, eh?
  21. :bowrofl:
  22. Bite me. Even all the way from Chattanooga.
  23. I want one. You dont need to go to pawn shops to find over priced merchandise....
  24. I dont think you can get a license to be an expert witness. In fact I am sure you can't. So you would need someone who knows something about firearms engineering. The major manufacturers here are Sabre Defense and Barrett. I'd try calling them and asking for their suggestions.
  25. The only state I remember defying the feds was Montana and the 55mph. That was the national speed limit only because the feds said they would withhold highway funds from states that didnt comply (same with 21 drinking age). Montana didnt get much money so it wasnt such an issue. After they did that the feds repealed 55mph.
